"First of," Jovia had a light smile on his face as if he was expecting this question. He stood up from his seat and walked behind Ash to his coffee machine. He was making himself a cup of coffee while he explained his reasoning. "I chose to give you a chance because I saw that you were different than other hitmans. You asked me to not pry into your university life, which meant you possessed world connections. This connection is surely rare in hitmans."

"How would you know? I may just be bluffing you this whole time?" Although Jovia could not see him, Ash had on his signature killer smile.

"Sure, one might think that the hitman could be bluffing and he was simply trying to get close. However, ever since you entered the room, there were many opportunities for you to pick up a potential weapon to kill me. My back is even free for you to attack." Jovia answered confidently.

"You made a good point." Ash was satisfied with the first answer. It seemed that it was as it seemed. The mafia boss knew that he had a weakness and was simply exploiting on it for his own benefit. Sometimes it was better to have a shrewd and selfish boss than one that looks to be extremely kind and humbling. Most of the time, it would be the ones that were kind and humbling that had the most messed up personalities.

"Then, two, now that I am under your disposal, what sort of tasks would you like me to do?" This was related to the job that he would have to carry out now that he was helping the Immortal Bloods Gang.

There wasn't an answer from Jovia for a moment. There was only the sound of the coffee machine in the large study room. Only when Jovia had finished making himself a nice cup of black coffee and had went back to his seat, did the mafia boss look into Ash's eyes. There was not a tinge of wavering in either's eyes as Jovia answered his question.

"I have only assigned one task to you," Drinking a sip of coffee, he continued, "Starting from tomorrow, you will head back to the university and carry on with your lessons. You will pretend that you are still carrying out the assassination mission on Jovia Tabola."

"Are you asking me to.." Ash's head starting spinning fast as he realised what was the motive of the Mafia boss.

"I am asking you to lie to your organisation that your mission is still underway." Of course, the task at hand was confusing enough for Ash. He had thought that Jovia would be asking him to assassinate someone for him. However, it was something as simple as lying to the organisation.

"Now, it is my turn to ask you a question." Jovia said, "What is the name of your hitman organisation?"

This time, it was Ash's turn to answer. The first question was already enough to make it clear enough on Jovia's intent. The young man's brows furrowed when he thought it through.

"It seems that you have figured out my intent in sending you back to school. Jovia smirked.

"You are planning to look into my hitman organisation." Ash answered with understanding.

"Correct."

"Then, considering your impressive information network, I'm guessing you already have shortlisted a few hitman organisations that I may be under."

"Yes. I have shortlisted it down to one organisation." Jovia spoke confidently.

"One?"

"The current number one seeded hitman organisation that has a 100% completion rate of assassinations. Nexus. Did I hit it right on the nail?"

"You are right," Ash did not hide anything, after all, there was truly no point in hiding such information. "I do work for Nexus."

"My plan should be pretty clear in your eyes now, right?"

"You would like to tear down the entire organisation…" Ash murmured under his breath.

Jovia did not say anything and allowed Ash to take in the information that was entering his head. He continued his explanation after some time.

"Considering my high profile, I have been under the watchful eyes of many powerful oligarchs. I knew it wasn't long before Nexus would be hired to assassinate me. And of course, they would have to send an S ranked hitman to do the job." The Mafia Boss spoke frankly to Ash and hid nothing from him. "Did I say anything wrong?"

"No, you have not." There was a slight frown on Ash's face that was not left unnoticed by the Mafia boss.

"What part are you confused about?"

"I do not understand the reason behind you attempting to tear down Nexus."

"That part, I was going to address it now. The answer to that question is simple," The handsome mafia boss took another sip of coffee elegantly before finishing his sentence. "My subordinate, Ash Vicars is trapped in Nexus. I have to obviously wipe out the organisation so as to get him on my side."

"Wh..What?" The young man was stumped.

"Since you are my subordinate, I would have to get you out of the organisation with no strings attached. What better way than to completely wipe it off the face of this earth?"

"I do not know what to say." Ash came clean.

His head was looking down at his clean hands. From an observer's eyes, the young man had a normal person's hand. To Ash, almost always, he would see his hands stained with blood. No matter how he washed it, the blood never came off. It was permanent and after many years of solitude, he had gotten used to the fact that he would always be a lone killer that belonged in the river of blood. Today was the first time that Ash had heard such a thing like Jovia had said.
