20 Ch 20- Confession

After Casey's parents finished telling their side of things it was time for a late lunch; Mac went with Sitka to go make a meal. The Richie parents also asked Aki if they could talk alone for a bit; after they left it was just Ryien, Casey, and Alec.

Alec slowly reached a hand to Casey and paused "can I hold you?". Casey who was still in his small form looked at Alec and stared at his gold eyes and bright hair seemingly mesmerized. Alec noticed his reaction and smirked, obviously his little wife was very fond of his appearance.

"I don't think we've formally introduced ourselves, have we? Well my name is Alec and I'm the heir of the Richie family who was supposed to hatch with you".

Casey continued to stare, "I'm Casey; I think your eyes look like gold, they're very beautiful". If Alec's tail was out it would be raised to the sky with pride, he snuck a glance at Ryien who was glaring at them and felt even smugger.

"I like everything about you! Silver and gold are quite a good pair aren't they?". Alec's eyes curved upwards as he smiled at Casey, Casey was even more entranced. Ryien couldn't take it any longer, he stood up and grabbed Casey before setting him on his lap. Casey flushed a light pink he actually forgot Ryien was still in the room with them! He curled his tail in shame and peeked at Alec before looking up at Ryien.

Ryien glared at Alec "don't you think you're acting too close to a dragon you just met?".

Casey couldn't put his finger on it but he had an extremely favorable impression of Alec, dragons each had a unique scent and his scent made Casey feel at ease and want to get close, combining that with his appealing looks Casey was conquered in one meeting. However, Casey had no intent to tell these things to Ryien so he changed the subject.

"When Aki and Sitka get back we need to ask what to do about you, Mac, and your tribes. I don't know if we can take everyone or not, but I'd like to if they allow it". Hearing such sweet words Ryien was happy that Casey thought so much of him and that he also cared about the fate of his whole tribe.

Ryein affectionately rubbed his head against Casey's face. "Well even if they can't take all of us, if they can at least help with transport we can probably find a place to settle ourselves. But it would definitely be fantastic if they can make us identification so it'll be easy to settle somewhere". Casey nodded in understanding, "I'll talk to them about it later".

With that, the conversation in the room died so Alec took it upon himself to show these two country bumpkins how to access the holographic web to play.

Meanwhile, Mac and Sitka were working in the kitchen in harmony, Sitka glanced at Mac's calm and peaceful appearance and deliberated before speaking. "Mac, since you're the one who's been raising Casey can you tell me how he's been over the years?". Mac looked stunned and whipped his head around, "years? I think you misunderstood, Casey only hatched from his egg within the past half a year. He hasn't been with us for very long".

Now it was Sitkas turn to be stunned, that was impossible. If an egg hadn't hatched in almost twenty years it was for sure a dead egg. Sitka stared into the air in a daze trying to think if what mac said could be true.

"I think you should ask Casey about these things directly, I always feel he's a bit unusual and hides some things from me. Maybe he'll tell you what he can't tell me, also I'm sure he'd be excited to tell you everything he's been through and accomplished in the time we've been together". Mac touched Sitkas hand in a comforting manner and stepped aside to continue cooking. Sitka decided mentally to bring it up to Casey when they were alone later and dropped the topic.

Then I'm another room of the spaceship sat Aki and Alec's, parents. "Why didn't you tell him about the marriage covenant when you introduced us?". The father of Alec spoke bluntly obviously very displeased with Aki.

"Casey's assumed he's been abandoned this whole time, and there's a gap between us. I don't want to meet him and impose any restrictions on him immediately or he may not want to accept us. Although based on his personality I doubt he'd do that, but I don't want to stress him out as soon as we meet, don't you agree?". Aki glanced lightly at his two friends.

"You can't keep it from him they have a covenant over them, if he tries to be with anyone he'll receive divine punishment. You saw the two fellas with him and how dependent on them he is. If you don't handle this properly it could hurt Casey and several others". Aki frowned and held his head. "I'll tell him once he's adapted, in the meantime I'll keep an eye on them and make sure nothing happens. Besides from how it looks to me Casey relies on one as almost a parent figure and the other as a close friend. I don't think he has any other kinds of thoughts, so it should be fine to trudge along like this for a bit".

The Richie parents pondered over it and hesitantly agreed.

So just like this three separate groups came up with their own joy, worries, and concerns over one silver dragon and joined back up for lunch with different thoughts and ideas in their heads. Meanwhile, the culprit of their thoughts was happily munching away and glancing at Mac and Alec from time to time.

After the silent meal finished Sitka asked Casey to come with him to talk alone about some things and Aki followed behind. Ryien glanced at the brat from the Richie family and pulled Mac to look at the interweb with him. While the Richie returned to their own ship to talk and rest.

As the Amos family of three sat in the conference room Sitka asked Casey if he could tell him his experiences since he hatched. So Casey started telling the story from his hatching, he told them about the Shera tribe and how they welcomed him. Then he talked a lot about Mac and started to talk about his spiritual journey and his dreams.

The more they listened the more incredible Aki and Sitka found Casey to be. "So you have four powers?". Casey nodded and heard Aki speak up.

"How many times did you travel to other spaces and what exactly did you see, or rather who did you meet? Somehow your existence was found by outsiders and spread throughout our star. Was it because you traveled somewhere you shouldn't have?". Hearing Aki's questions Casey pondered for a moment and started to talk about the two times he went to a scary sort of underground lab. "I met another dragon who was imprisoned there, he tried to help me before. I believe his name was Morrison, every time I went had would be covered in wounds inflicted by a man in a white coat".

Hearing Casey's words both Aki and Sitka froze, "what was that dragon's name?".

"Morrison".

Sitka started talking excitedly "what did he look like? Was he blue?". Casey nodded and Sitka teared up at his response. Casey stared dumbly at his two parents not understanding why they were so emotional suddenly, perceiving his cub's wary gaze Aki explained.

"Morrison is your maternal grandfather however he went missing around 25 years ago; everyone assumed he was dead. Both your maternal grandparents are missing, as I mentioned yesterday the other went missing when she left to find you and we never heard from her again".

Casey's eyes widened a little and now he felt bad that he just left Morrison behind without helping much.

"Alright, we'll discuss more about Morrison later, continue your story, Casey". Casey gave a heavy nod and continued until he reached the current time. Aki and Sitka had been listening closely and Aki looked at Sitka puzzledly.

"How long ago did you say you hatched?". Casey spoke confidently "about half a year ago".

Aki's expression turned hard and he spoke slowly, "that's impossible, a dragon egg can't live that long without hatching".

Casey was stunned hearing those words and hesitation flashed across his face, both Aki and Sitka caught it. Sitka spoke gently "it's okay cub, we're your parents you can tell us everything. It won't change how we feel about you".

Casey stared at the two and felt guilty, tears gathered in his eyes, and he choked back as he spoke to them. "Even if I'm probably not your actual cub?". The two parents were stunned by his words and listened as Casey started to tell him about his past life experiences.

"I was born as a human 18 years ago and was particularly weak and frail, I crashed landed on this planet after being kidnapped and hid in the cave where the egg was. I was chased further into the cave, I found the silver egg and a bag of jewels. There was a small jade knife in the bag and I killed myself with it, when I woke up a few days later, I was in the egg as a newborn dragon".

Both Sitka and Aki's expressions were hard to describe and when Casey saw them he sobbed even harder and started apologizing to them. Sitka rushed to hold Casey and soothe him and looked at Aki who nodded back at him.

"Casey, that bag of jewels do you still have it?". Casey looked at them, "Mac should be holding on to it". The two nodded and Aki got up to go get it from Mac, Casey was a bit confused by their actions. Shortly after though Aki came back and dumped the bag of jewels on the table and quickly found the knife and handed it to Sitka. Then he looked through the jewels and picked out Casey's favorite ruby and handed that to Sitka as well. Casey watched their interactions and was even more confused.

Sitka stabbed the ruby with the knife and Casey yelled out. Them a projection showed in front of the three, inside was a graceful-looking woman who looked to be in her early forties. Sitka's eyes teared up.

"Hello dears, if you're seeing this it means you must have found your cub". The woman smiled gently "unfortunately though, you won't find me, Sitka, Aki, I know it's probably been hard for you. When I found your egg he had already been badly damaged and cracked. So I've decided to trade our lives, I'll go back to your father and leave this cub's life to live in my stead". The dragon smiled again sadly. "Because this egg is badly damaged even with my interference it will take the cub a long time to recover. To avoid his soul from scattering I'm going to send it off to live somewhere else for a while, I've already divined his fate. It won't be easy but at least you will be able to meet one day, make sure you take good care of our future king. I love you both and of course, I love your cub the most". The woman's tears started to stain her face and she raised her hand to gently wipe them away. "Oh I don't mean to cry when saying goodbye haha. Take care my dears, I love you".

The video stopped there and the three members of the Amos family all cried and held one another. Eventually, Aki spoke up "See Casey, you didn't take this body it was always yours and fate brought you back to it and us. You see, your grandmother has a unique spiritual power she can look into other's fates and destinies. She can change them but it costs a heavy price, many dragons have gone to her to seek help and information before. In order to save you from certain death, she traded her life, know that this is not your fault. This is what she decided to do for the better of our dragon kind".

The room was surrounded by a heavy silence Casey's thoughts were all over the place, he suddenly grabbed one thought and spoke without thinking. "Is the reason I was so weak in my last life because the soul didn't fit the body?". Sitka spoke up "it should be because your soul was much too powerful that your body couldn't contain or handle it. But this is all part of the fate mom divined for you".

Casey nodded in understanding and crawled into Sitkas arms and nuzzled him. Casey was exhausted from the growth phase and the emotional roller coaster and fell asleep in his father's embrace. Sitka felt happy but at the same time, his emotions were all over the place. Aki walked over to his spouse and the two went to their room and laid on the bed. The reunited family of three laid together for a while, the adults digested all the information they learned today while watching their cub sleep peacefully between them.
