2 CHAPTER-1

(FIRST DAY)

AUBREY'S POV

Today is the day when I am finally going to join the hospital. I woke up a little early from my daily schedule and got ready so that I won't be late for work, Unni made omelets for me in breakfast, ahhh I just love her, she is so good. I exactly remember how I met her. It was during my 1st year and my mid-terms were in 5 days and my syllabus was not even half done, I was in so much panic. I went to my dean and told her about my problem, that's when she gave me Unni's number and asked me to contact her and she will help me. Within next 5 days with help from Unni I completed my 75% of syllabus and I scored good marks in the mid-terms, thanks to her. And after that we became like inseparable sister-duo. I still remember how she used to take care of me during college years, especially during exam time, she is used make sure that I am taking all my meals on time and not skipping any. She even helped me in my medical studies throughout all these years. She is my mom's beloved, as she used to talk to my parents more than me. But I never felt jealous of her cause she is like an angle sent by god in my miserable life. Good or bad she was always there for me. And when she got to know that I was searching for an apartment, she directly called my mom and told her not to worry about me and that I will be staying with her. And who am I to say no to her. This is the reason why I am staying at her flat during this internship year, and then hopefully next year I would be working in my dream place- Washington, in American Army Headquarters. But how about we get back to the story, cause we have many things to discuss about my life, and my life includes- problems, mess, mystery, drama and what not.

I took a cab to the hospital, as I still don't have my vehicle, well technically because my parents do not trust me with driving and I call that insult but they think it is there care for me. I was wearing my summer boots, my blue straight denims and plain white crisp shirt and no makeup as I don't like to do makeup, I mean who needs makeup if you have this naturally beautiful face, you would be like how can she praise herself, well what can I say, there is a reason why my friends and family members call me Aubrey Confident Huxley. Ohk back to the story, shall we, you talkative person.

You must be thinking why I am not wearing my uniform, it took me so much hard work to earn, well the reason behind it is that the head of the hospital called me personally yesterday, and told how happy and honored he was that the topper of AMC is going to do her internship in his hospital, and then after some talk he requested me to wear some casual clothes to the work, as it is a civil hospital and also not to tell about my education background unless asked, as he don't want to create a mess here, but I guess my Commanding Officer forgot to tell him that where Aubrey is, mess is. So yeah this is the reason I am wearing casual clothes and still looking stunning (Self Praise Points Earned +20).

After reaching hospital I went to the reception and asked the receptionist there "Excuse me miss, I am a new intern here, may I know to who I should report", and she asked me to go to the floor 7 and say same to the receptionist there and she will guide me, and so I did. The receptionist on the 7th floor took me to a room where 4 other people were already sitting, I think they were also new interns, but I was not sure, so thought not to indulge right now, so I sat on my assigned seat, waiting (for what, that I don't know).

I was sitting on my seat from last 7 minutes when suddenly a man who was in his mid-thirties and I might add a cute one, entered (my mind made the comment not me). I sighed internally at my minds interpretation while looking up at ceiling and asking god if he was sure I had a brain and it was okay to let me be out without any supervision and then I saw that the fan which was just above that man was about to fall, without wasting a single second I stood up from my seat and ran towards him and pulled him to the other side of the room, and that very moment the fan came down, everyone in the room was totally shocked, even the man was so shocked that it took him a minute to realize what happened, after assessing the situation he thanked me and praised me for my presence of mind (well what can I do, I am just awesome). After he moved from front of me, I saw a woman who also was in her mid-thirties standing there glaring at me as if I committed a sin. After that she called that man "Dr. Daniel the meeting is going to start soon, come let's go", and then the said man or Dr. Daniel went and so did she, but then she came back and asked for my name. I said "Aubrey, it's Aubrey Huxley", before I could get a chance to add lieutenant, she went ignoring me. What's with this woman and her attitude. Huh, I made a mental note to stay away from her (she smelled strongly of problems, unless it was her cologne, he-he-he). But who knows what life has for you, and for me it was surely mess.

She is a mess but she is a MASTERPIECE.
