14 CHAPTER-13

After Katie left Aubrey took the memory card out of the box and inserted it in her phone and to make sure that Officer Kevin was not able to see the phone she told him that she is going on her routine round. She went and stood near one of her patient who was injured in a motorcycle accident due to slipping on the road, he was a food delivery guy. She found him sleeping so she thought of seeing the content of the card here only, her back was facing the patient and she was going through the files of the terrorist like is name, work details, family and other details about him when is she realized someone was looking at her phone from behind when she turned around she found it was the motorcycle patient and he was looking at the phone with horrified expression.

'You know him, you know this guy?'

'A b ab no sir I don't know him, I just was looking at it someone sent this to me, so you know I don't know him.'

Aubrey was visibly shaken because if her patient and others got to know that she was involved with a terrorist she will have to face troubles and she even might not be able to complete her internship here or do her work as an army doctor.

'You don't, I do, I saw him that day, I saw.'

Aubrey realized that her patient was asking the question before because he knew the guy and not vice-versa. But the way the patient looked it meant he might have witnessed something that he shouldn't have but it might prove helpful in her case as it might prove her innocence. So she asked the patient calmly.

'You know him?'

'Yes, yes he is the guy I saw that day in warehouse.'

'Which day?'

'The day when I got admitted in this hospital, the day of my accident.'

'Oh so you saw him.'

'Yes.'

'Where did you saw him and how.'

'On that day I went to a warehouse type looking place to deliver food and he was also there, he was talking to someone, who looked like a leader.'

'Did you heard what they were taking.'

'I did, they were arguing because...….'

The patient told Aubrey everything in detail and then later she gave the patient his meds and asked him to sleep, while she went towards her office to talk to the officer.

'Officer Kevin can you please call your team here, like right now.'

'Why what happened, is everything alright doctor.'

'Yes, but please call them here asap tell them I know something regarding the case.'

'Regarding the case?'

'Yes.'

'Okay I'll call them right away.'

Officer Kevin calls the team and asks them to come to the hospital as according to Aubrey she got a lead on the case. Later CIA team comes to the hospital.

'Good morning doctor.'

'Good morning Mr. Samiel.'

'Just Samiel. So Kevin told us you got some lead on the case.'

'Yeah I got something, hope it helps. '

'Will see.'

'Okay so first one of my patients who got injured in a motorcycle accident and who also turns out to be someone who saw the dead terrorist for the last time, he is sleeping right now so you should talk to him later but I can tell you what he told me.'

'Great then let's start.'

'Hmm, so he told me that on the day he got into accident he went to deliver food to a warehouse kind of looking place and people there used to order regularly. So he went there and saw this terrorist guy in there and he was arguing to the other person who looked like the boss of the gang or whatever. They were arguing about the terrorist guy wanting to leave all this and the other person warned him that if he tries to leave he will be killed. According to my patients he was terrified just by listening to them so as soon as he got the money he left and as all these thoughts were still in his mind he unfortunately got into an accident.'

'Oh so this was the case, the guy might wanted to kill you but someone else killed him, and took any and every important documents and photograph from the house only leaving yours to make us suspect you in the murder of the guy.'

'Well that's what I think happened, it's been an hour already the patient might have woken up I'll go and check and bring him here only, as he is still a patient I cannot allow you to take him with until his treatment is done. So you have to talk to him here only. I hope you understand Samiel.'

'I do doctor, we'll talk to him here only please bring him.'

'Okay I'll be back.'

Then Aubrey went to the patient and found him sitting on his bed deep in thought.

'Mr.98 are you alright?'

'Yes doctor, it's just that I am worried.'

'Worried, regarding what?'

'As I told you I heard those guys talking what if the find me, and try to kill me.'

'Don't worry regarding that, I have called some of the CIA officers here, and they wants to talk to you.'

'CIA officers, but why would they want to talk to me.'

'They want to talk to you regarding this only, and don't worry I'll be there with you, they are inside the interns room. Come I'll take you there.'

Aubrey takes the patient to the room where the officers were waiting and introduced him to everyone.

'Hi sir, I am officer Samiel from Alpha group, CIA. I guess doctor has already told you why we are here and what we would like to talk to you.'

'Yes, I been told.'

'Okay, so this is my colleges, officer Marcus and officer Richard they will be talking to you regarding what you saw and all of this will be recorded in the camera that you see their as well as written, so shall we start, please sit.'

Marcus and Richard started talking to the patient regarding what he saw or heard and the other information like the location of the warehouse, how many men were there, how many had a weapon and other necessary details. While Samiel and Aubrey stood there listening to what the patient was saying. The patient also told how he saw the photo of the terrorist in the doctors phone when she came for routine checkup and he recognized the terrorist and told her about it. After that the patient was sent back to his ward with the help of nurse Mia.

'Doctor if I may ask, your patient recognized the terrorist by seeing his photograph in your phone as he said, what does that mean.'

Aubrey sighed loudly then took out the memory card from her phone and gave it to Samiel and said "here this might help you with the case". Samiel took it from her hand and gave it to Dan to see what was in it and as Dan inserted the card in his phone and opened the saved file he was shocked.

'Sir, you might want to see this.'

When Samiel and the others saw they all were shocked as in there were details about the dead terrorist, every single detail.

Samiel turned towards Aubrey and asked her, "how did you got all this information".

Aubrey smiled and replied, "...…".

We all live in suspense from day to day: in other words, you are the hero of your own story.
