20 At the Main Church of the Church of Jetkins (2)

9th April

The light suddenly struck. I got blinded at first but then managed to adjust my sight after moments. A white translucent bulb irradiated the place, and a thing seems off.

Drawing nearer the center took me a minute preparing myself for either assault to come in my way. Breathing gave me a hard time as the air was smothering, telling a thing had died or beaten her to death, leaving rubbish.

“Where am I by the way?” asking myself upon comprehending the place was unknown to me.

An answer unexpectedly appeared when another bulb lit in a corner, a couple of meters away from my stand. A woman in metal chains locked in her both wrist, stretching her body in the opposite direction, seem writhing in pain. Sweat trickling down her face, blood gushing out her nostrils and right lip. Her knee-length dress was casted off her body, but other parts look as if hanging to life.

The clanging of metal chains roared the place as she grunted and screamed for help.

“HELP! PLEASE! HELP ME!!”

Another clicking of metal chains heard as her ankles had them too. She shouted because of agony as the chains also pulled her feet in the opposite direction.

“HELP! NO!! STOP THIS!! HELP ME!!!”

Her eyes were pleading, and tears were pouring down her cheeks non-stop.

“I CAN’T TAKE THIS ANYMORE!!!”

I’m stoned on what I have seen. Even my hands and feet got cold and unstable.

Shock evident in my system when two men showed beside her, grinning devilishly.

"Restrain her with all your might and let's enter the church. She must be healed abruptly," commanded Reverend.

People gave them way inside. Some followed, and others stayed and put their palms together for a prayer. I also followed and found a nice spot to witness the scene.

The men holding the woman put her in the chair situated on the high platform where Reverend Scott is standing. Again, Asst. McLinn is nowhere to be found.

Reverend Scott opens his arms on both sides and looks above where the direct light touches his face. He stayed for a minute and at the same time, the woman didn't stop laughing with the strange voice she has. At some point, she pants, then laugh alternately. Even scared, the two men still restrain the woman from making a reckless move.

When Reverend Scott points his forefinger at the woman's forehead, a scream echoed the main church. Cry of pain and struggle.

"Never let her free. You'll regret it if you did." Reverend Scott told the men in front of him. The two nodded firmly.

Reverend's eyes flicker for a moment, and then he shouted.

"YOU THE SON OF A DEMON, LEAVE HER BODY! YOU'RE NOTHING BUT A SERPENT OF EVIL AND YOU CAN'T DO AWAY FROM THE POWER OF THE ABOVE!"

People around started praying when they heard the word demon. I heard that they're helping Reverend Scott towards his prayers. The murmur of prayers enveloped the church giving me headache and annoyance, but I need to witness this demonic exorcism.

The woman still screaming in pain and struggling hardly that another two men helped to restrain her. But everyone gasps when her screams turn into laughter. Much louder than the first.

"HAHAHAHA! Do you think you can win over me?" she started. She also stops struggling, not minding the four men holding her. "I'm here people. Be ready."

Her red, swollen eyes roamed around, eyeing each one of the people here. She may be calm sitting, but her words and voice sent chills and nervousness to everyone.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA! I'll push you one after the other on a cliff," a grin smile plastered her lips. "And your dead body will be the tribute to me. HAHAHAHAHAH!"

As the quiet remain, her demonic voice surrounds. Even Reverend Scott can't move on what she burst.

Tribute? To whom?

Reverend Scott came back to his senses and did the exorcism. People inside also did prayers lending the Reverend a hand. The woman again screams painfully, but her voice became natural. That unusual demonic voice disappeared.

Still, Reverend's lips move as he utters his prayers, battling the demon inside the woman's body. Until the scream stopped and the woman became unconscious, held by four men. People heaved sighs one after the other.

"Thanks to the Above," I heard they all utter.

The woman was already transferred on one of the cabins held by one of the four men restraining her a while ago. They are assisted by Asst. McLinn, who just appeared after the exorcism. She's always missing in action.

People continued what they are doing, but the fear still there. I am standing unmoved on my spot.

Was the woman's wordings a hoax or not? I think I already heard something like that. Was it falling to become nothing? Or it was just falling?

"Did I just heard falling?" I utter mindlessly. "That's it!"
