37 A Fashion Fiasco (1)

Himuro and Murasakibara went back to Akita a few days after the street ball game. Yui continued on with her normal life sans the occasional mishaps now and again but that story's for another time.

It was currently 10 am. Yui lay on her bed, eyes closed, as she got lost in day dreaming from boredom. The family were all busy and Yui had nothing to do so when she received a message from Haruka inviting her out to the skate park, she immediately called Kagami.

*Ring*

*Rin–*

< Hello? > a gruff voice came through the speaker.

"Kagami-kun! Ohayo!!" Yui smiled. "Are you busy today?"

On the other end of the receiver, Kagami paused in the middle of his late breakfast and sighed. He knew where this was going.

< ....No. Why? >

"Great! Haruka said they're going to the skate park so I told her we'd meet them there."

< You're supposed to ask me first before agreeing baka.>

"Hehe. Anyway, I'll see you there in a bit. Byeee!" She hung up the phone and quickly got dressed before grabbing her skateboard and leaving the house.

Meanwhile in Kagami's apartment, the boy was busy shoving his meal in his mouth and finished it quickly so he could get ready. Something was bound to happen today. Something always happens when he's with those five but he hoped today wouldn't be anything too traumatic. In the shower, his mind drifted to a certain green-eyed brunette and he couldn't help but blush.

Ever since their meet-up at his training camp, thoughts of her were plaguing his mind and for a long time, he couldn't find the reason. The haunted house episode only increased his thoughts of her.

Only after he saw clips from a romance movie that was playing on tv did he have a guess.

'Do I...like her? No no no no, I'm probably overthinking this.'

Kagami shook his head and dried himself. Although he was an idiot most of the time, even he wouldn't be so oblivious to such obvious signs. Sure he acted annoyed whenever she called to invite him out but that was only because they end up doing something either crazy and or illegal. In truth, he liked hanging out with her but was it because she was a friend or because he had an interest in her romantically.

"Ugh," the baka was getting a headache from thinking too much. He decided to stop thinking about it and just go with the flow.

"Kagami-kun!"

Yui called with a smile. Kagami made his way to the group who were messing around on the ramps.

"So we're not doing anything crazy today are we?"

"Well you never know. Oh and Hiro-kun and Akito-kun will be having a competition. The loser has to do what Rio says."

'This isn't going to end well.' thought Kagami.

And he was right because two hours later, the group were standing in front of a photoshoot.

Once again, everyone shot Rio a glare for bringing them into this mess.

"Dammit Rio! Don't you have some normal relatives?! Every time you mention them, we always get wrapped in something," shouted Akito.

"I swear I didn't think my cousin would do this. It was only supposed to be Hiro helping out." Rio tried hiding behind Haruka.

Kagami just stood next to Yui, quietly seething in anger.

What happened and where were they might you ask. They were standing in Rio's cousin's fashion studio about to get ready for a photoshoot.

A little bit earlier, Hiro had lost the skate match with Akito and Rio had said his older cousin needed help at the her studio. When the group arrived, they were expecting manual work or cleaning chores for Hiro to do but once again, they somehow became models.

"My models all suddenly caught the flu so I'm in a desperate situation because the contractors are demanding the photos by tomorrow." said Rio's cousin. "Thank you guys for helping out,"

They weren't planning to help out but Rio's cousin gave off a threatening aura that made them unable to say no.

The two girls were ushered to one room while the boys to another.

Of course, Rio's cousin wasn't planning on making them models but she was extremely desperate and they weren't bad in looks either. Just throw on some cool clothes and add a touch of make-up and they were set to go.

[a/n: This is pure fiction readers. I know that being a model is a lot harder than throwing on some pretty clothes so don't take this seriously.]

Yui's POV

The staff dabbed a bit of blush on my face while another worked on my hair. I couldn't help but inwardly laugh at the situation and how we always got wrapped up in something.

'Kagami-kun is probably regretting answering my call.'

I glanced over to Haruka to had a frown plastered on her face as she stared at her reflection in the mirror.

"I look like a princess!" she groaned in frustration.

"Shouldn't you. be happy about that?" I said before thinking. As expected, she gave me a deadpanned look.

"Do you think I want to look like a princess?"

"Right...but you look very pretty," I said standing off the stool.

"Yui-chan, have you even looked at yourself? You're the one who's pretty," Haruka said.

I blinked in confusion until she handed me a mirror and my jaw dropped open upon seeing my reflection.

"....."

I was speechless. Was this person really me? Is this the power of make-up?

"Kagami-kun's gonna be blown away," Haruka smirked. Although I was confused at her sentence, I couldn't help the blush that came to my cheeks.

"What are you talking about?"

She gave me look that said, 'Do you really not know?'

Before I could answer, the staff led us outside the room where we waited on seats for the boys to be done.

"Ara, I knew I saw good faces earlier. You two look absolutely stunning in those outfits,"

Haruka wore a knee-length silver dress that was off-the-shoulder and her short hair was styled to the side.

I had on a dark maroon dress with two spaghetti straps and a pair of heals to match. My hair was loosely braided to the side and on ears were silver studs while my neck remained bare.

I quite liked my look and continued admiring myself in the mirror when the other door opened and out walked the boys.

When Kagami's figure came into view, I couldn't help but stare in awe at how different he looked and when his eyes met mine, it was like the world came to a pause.

A/N: Exams are finally over so I have started writing again. Apologies if the writing seems a bit stiff. I haven't written since the start of my exams so I have to get into it again which is quite difficult for me but I'll do my best.
