21 Weekend (III)

After a long cold night, the redeemer gets to emancipate us. It's a relief when they come to rescue us at midday. Though it isn't going well, Youngjae doesn't want to talk with me since he confessed. I try to open the topic yet he merely answers or worst, a quick nod.

And so, I release a deep sigh before tapping his shoulder to get his attention, he flinches at my touch and slowly turns to face me. My curve lips form into a smile as my hand reaches his wrist, however, he yanks his hand away.

"Not now Minsoo. If I'm ready to talk with you. I'll contact you." He mutters before strolling inside the cottage.

My teeth clench my lips and my heart throbs as he suddenly hauls me away but even so, it's his right since I rejected him.

"What happened back there? Since we rescued you. Neither of you talked." Jungmin asks. I sigh and get back inside without answering his question. When aunt Samantha sees me, she sighs in relief and gives me a welcome embrace. I gladly accept her embrace.

"Thank goodness you are okay. We are so worried about you and Youngjae when you two are nowhere to be found. It is very lucky for Youngjae when he contacted Cleo knowing us that you two are stuck by the cave." Samantha utters without breaking the hug. My hand strokes his back to calm her down.

"We're fine now, Sam, thank you for worrying. And I'm thankful that Youngjae finds me at the sea and saved me right away." I say and giving her a smile.

She loosens the embrace as she pecks my forehead. " You need to take a bath since you are wet all the time. I'll prepare some food so you can rest for the day. I know you are very exhausted." I respond with a nod and go to my room.

My lips escape a heavy sigh as my eyes travel to the luggage. I squat down to get my clothes before taking a bath. After, I walk to the shower as I take all my clothes and rush to the water. I let the water run down my body, striving to wipe all the negative thoughts fleeing inside my head. I wish this water would wash my worries. I never thought that his confession would break our friendship. Yet, I can't push my heart to like him back. I have someone inside my heart.

Afterward, I wander downstairs when hearing my stomach starts howling.

"I'm hungry," I mumble.

When my eyes travel their direction, I hurriedly saunter to the dining room. And so, I see Youngjae, who isn't looking at me. My lips release a long exhale before sitting beside Cleo. Uncle George gives me food and gladly accepts it.

"What happened?" Cleo whispers to my ears as she looks at Youngjae and back at me. I turn my face to see her and give an assuring smile.

I shake my head as an answer and say, "Nothing happened between us, Cleo. You are just overthinking" I pat her shoulder as I continue eating my meal.

"I don't think I'm overthinking since Youngjae didn't give me a proper answer so do you. Did he do something wrong? or Did he say something awkward?" She keeps on interrogating me yet, my lips are sealed.

What happened at the cave is probably for us, for now. After that, we walk upstairs to pack our things since today is our last day.

"I'll be missing this place," Jungmin utters while packing all his things and souvenirs that I don't notice, he bought.

"Me too. You know, we can have a vacation at the beach after the semester." I exclaim.

"That sounds fun. We can tell the guys so we can have a vacation and as far as I know, Mingyu has a resort near the place. We can tell him about our plan." I nod while smiling and continue packing my things

Then, I grab my scarf to warm my body, clasps Jungmin's hand, and rushes out of the cottage to get some walk.

"Where are we going?" He asks me as we slowly stroll to the beach.

"Just stroll at the beach and I want this weekend to be memorable for both of us," I mumble as my eyes saunter to the beach and the scenery of the place.

He stops walking as he wraps his around my waist and leans his head to my shoulder.

"You didn't respond to my question. What happened back there?" He suddenly asks. I take a deep breath before telling everything about what happened back in the cave.

"Youngjae confessed his feelings for me but I immediately rejected it," I mumble.

"Is it because of Taehyung?" He asks. I slowly nodded as my answer.

"Is it a good idea to neglect his feelings? I hurt him so much, Minnie. I don't know how I will accept the fact that because of his confession would affect our friendship. But at the same time, I don't want him to lead on the wrong path."

"You did a great job MinMin. You didn't lead his emotions just because he's your friend. Sometimes being honest would hurt anyone's feelings. And if you accept his affections, you two will suffer." All he said is right. It's not anyone's fault if I rejected him. It's for our own good.

"You are right Minnie. If we can't be friends at the end at least I didn't lead his feelings for anything just because I don't want to affect our friendship." I explain. I look at my twin and my heart flutters when seeing all his teeth showing as he smiles. Like a cute baby bunny.

"Stop this drama. We all know that we hate drama!" He exclaims as he laughs.

"MinMin, I want to thank you for bringing me here. I really appreciate it." He says and I ruffle his hair.

"I should be thanking you for keeping me company all the time. Without you, I wouldn't do anything even if you have Jinwoo in your life." I assert while my lips form into a pout—sulking. Though, I'm happy that he's with his special person. I shouldn't be worried when there's someone to protect and to love him.

"Even if I have Jinwoo in my life. You are my half and I couldn't live without you." He said. I flinch at his cheeky words. We turn around in unison when someone calls us from behind.

"Minsoo, Jungmin! We need to leave! You  don't need to get inside since I got all your luggage."  Cleo announces and we rush back and get inside of Cleo's car.

When we're on the trip, my body begins to tremble when I feel eyes on me. Did someone follow us? I shake my head to clear my vexatious thoughts before staring at the window. Suddenly, I glimpse two unknown personas beneath the tree, wearing a bunny mask.

Bunny mask? Why is it so familiar to me? I bite my lips while thinking where I saw that bunny mask. Soon enough, my eyes went round upon realizing that it is the exact mask where Jungmin told me about. Was it a coincidence? Or not? Who are they? Do they want something from me?

Then, My hand clutches the car handle to open as my feet disembark on the floor, promptly rushes inside my room without saying goodbye and leaving Jungmin behind. Heaving a deep, heavy sigh as I heave my bag and throw myself on the bed.

Suddenly, my door slowly opens as the heavy footsteps walk closer to my direction and sit on the edge of my bed. "Are you okay MinMin?" He asks as he strokes my shoulder.

"Yes, Minnie. I'm just tired and I want to sleep." I murmur and look at him. He smiles widely when he sees my lovely smile.

"Okay." He says before walking outside the room. My body switches position as my eyes glance at the window.

"I hope it was only my imagination," I mutter before closing my eyes.
