52 Visiting My Parents

AFTER THREE MONTHS

"Let's go! Mom and Dad are waiting for us to arrive!" I exclaim as I trudge my feet whilst waiting for him to come out of his room. My brow raises when he doesn't even respond.

"What is he doing?" I murmur and then I walk in front of his door and thump multiple times.

"Jungmin, what are you doing there? It's been one hour!"

"It'll end soon."

"Just hurry up!" I exclaim.

"Okay, I'll be out for a few minutes. Just wait for me at the parking lot." I scoff and grab my backpack before walking out of the apartment and stroll downstairs. Then, I push the button to unlock the car door and place my backpack into the trunk and walk inside the driver's seat.

I slide off the window to look around the place as if I'm not going back to the apartment. Yet, I decide to have a new life with my brother, especially with Taehyung.

The 3 months passed and nothing esoteric happened or even the shadow of Youngjae and Chleo nowhere to be found. Luckily, they haven't dared to unnerve me. Also, the bunny masked men stop haunting my life so I perceive that it'll be more peaceful than before.

Further, I choose to keep the apartment to suppress my parents from danger, especially my grandma. And I can't foresee when the bunny masked men will attack.

After a few minutes, Jungmin walks closer to the car, opening it and strolling inside the passenger's seat with his backpack and hurls on the backseat.

"Let's go," he informs. I start the engine and drive to our house.

After thirty minutes of the drive, we reach our house, the lovely house. Then, I step outside the car as Jungmin gets our backpack. Slowly, I wander inside the house, the cozy and content scent rushing through my nose. My eyes land in the kitchen, looking at my mother, who's preparing the meal for the family. Carefully, I walk closer to her and gently wraps my arm around her shoulder. She glances at me with her astonished eyes.

Within a couple of seconds, she pulls me into an embrace and exclaims, "Minsoo!" I hug her back, shutting my eyes close and feel the warmth of my mother.

"I miss you, Mom," I murmur with a gloomy tone and with my eyes release tears, dashing down my cheeks. Later, she loosens the embrace as she cups my face with her hands and wipes all my tears. Suddenly, we both laugh when realizing that our moment becomes sentimental.

"It's getting sappy." My mother comments as she wipes her tears.

"Where's dad and grandma?" I ask whilst I look around, striving to search for them.

"They're at the hospital for the last session therapy for your grandma so we have plenty of time to prepare." I nod.

Then, I look to mom's cook and ask, "What can I do for help?" Immediately, she looks at me with a smile wearing on her face.

"You can help me decorate the living room for your grandma's birthday." I nod as I walk to the living room and there, I glimpse at Jungmin and Jinwoo, who's decorating the banner. I sit beside them leisurely to help them. And so, I grab the balloon and give the air inside.

Suddenly, I notice Jinwoo staring at me as if he wants something to ask or to say. My head tilts on the side with confusion in my weary eyes.

"Jinwoo…" I call him to get his attention. He flinches as if he doesn't notice that I'm looking at him, last-minute ago.

"Ohh, ahm... Have you decided to get back here?" He asks. I sigh, placing the balloon and the pump aside before glancing at him.

"My decision… I want to keep the apartment. I need to do something that could stay them away from danger and with that, I need to stay away from them."

Jungmin sighs and says, "We know that yet we can't predict when they'll attack."

"That's why I'm not going to stay here. They are important to me so as much as possible I can't risk more lives."

"As you know, many residents live in the apartment building so I was wondering if why can't you just stay at Taehyung's house," Jinwoo suggests. I look at Jungmin and back at Jinwoo.

"H-he's living next to my apartment." I stutter as I get the balloon pump with the balloon and start pumping it.

"He is since he needed to stay close so he could protect you," Jinwoo replies. I sigh and place the balloon on the side.

"Jungmin…"

"We can stay at Taehyung's. And it's a relief since he's with the guys and also, we can protect you whatever happens." I nod, agreeing with him.

In all honesty, the more they want to protect me, the more I feel hopeless. I can't depend on them just to be alive. I need something to do.

"I know what you're thinking. You're not hopeless. We're doing this because we wanted to do this." Jinwoo says.

"I know but… nevermind, let's just decorate the living room. At any minute, dad and grandma will be here soon." I then shift the topic and continue blowing the balloon.

After an hour of preparation, grandma and dad arrive at our house and we surprise grandma for her birthday.

"Happy birthday, granny!" We exclaim, to the point that she startles. And so, she walks towards me and Jungmin and pulls us into an embrace.

"Thank you, MinMin, Minnie" She whispers and loosen the embrace.

"Let's go eat!" My mother exclaims as we walk to the kitchen to eat for lunch.

"Wait, I'll just get my gift!" I exclaim and walk to my suitcase and get my gift. As I take out the gift, I wander to grandma and give my gift.

"Thank you, sweetie."

"You're welcome, Grandma," I say and hug him. She then chuckles whilst patting my back.

"Now we can eat!" Grandma announces.

Afterward, I pull my parents to the living after I walk with grandma to her room. And then they sit on the couch, in front of me. As I take a deep sigh, releasing the tension inside me.

"What is it, MinMin?" My mother implores.

Suddenly, Jungmin sits beside me wearing his smile while looking at me. Promptly, he reaches my hand and clasps around it. I nod and glance at our parents, who patiently wait for me to say a word.

"Okay, I'll tell you now. Ahm… Mom, Dad. I decided to attend the class."

My mother raises his brows and says, "Sweetie, you're attending the class."

"No, I mean in actual form. I want to attend the class, face to face. I miss the ambiance of the school." I confess. My parents glance at each other before looking back at me.

"Are you sure? I mean, what if something bad happened to you? We can't assume that they won't attack you." My father says.

"Dad, after three months nothing bad happened so I assume that they decided to stop pestering my life." They sigh in sync as my father rubs his temple.

"Minsoo, you're an independent woman so I don't have a word for now. If your decision stays intact then we can arrange your schedule by tomorrow." My father mumbles.

I stare at them, glimmering inside my dark brown eyes when they trust my decision. Then, I smile at them, jump out of the couch, and hug my parents tightly.

"Thank you, Mom and Dad." I pull out into an embrace as my mother caresses my cheeks by his left hand.

"Minmin, we can trust your decision but remember, if something bad happens to you, don't hesitate to tell us." I nod.

"Wait, are you going to live here again?" Mother asks.

"We decide to keep the apartment," Jungmin says as they respond with a nod. My gaze travels to Jungmin, who's smiling at me.

'This will be a good start for me and Taehyung. Hopefully, nothing bad happened to us.'
