37 That Person Is Not Worth It

My eyes slowly open as I wander around to perceive what's the place, and I feel relief when I'm inside my room. My head suddenly feels the sting when I strive to rise.

"W-what happened?" I ask myself as my fingers brush the strands of my hair. Then I realize, I don't recall what happened yesterday yet my heart clenches as if something is missing.

I don't know who places me on the bed since I passed out, which is weird for me. I can't help thinking that I often pass out these days. And one thing I notice, every time I pass out, other memories are gained. Is it a kind of mechanism? Was someone or something that helped me from regaining my memories? Someone named Euphemia, The wife of the Luna Family. Is she helping me to remember my past?

My brows crinkle as my head shakes, eradicating the unpredictable thoughts, and slap my face to snap into reality. No one or even a spiritual creature is going to help me to remember my past. It isn't going to happen. Only crazy people would think that but not me.

"It was just a coincidence. Nothing more, nothing less so don't speculate anything like that. It will never help you, Minsoo." I mumble as if I'm encouraging myself to think about reality and not some of my mystic intuition.

Within a second, My feet touch the floor as I stand up and go outside the room to have breakfast when my stomach starts growling. As I reach the kitchen, I grab some great inside the cabinet and start feeding myself without glancing at my surroundings.

"Minsoo?" Jungmin calls me from the living room along with Jinwoo and Taehyung. My brow furrows when glimpsing at them.

"Why are you two doing here? Don't you have a class?" I ask whilst pointing at them.

"We have but we're worried when you passed out so we took a visit. I told your professor that you couldn't attend the class online this morning since you passed out yesterday. They scheduled your class at noon. Also, the play moved tomorrow when knowing your incident." Jinwoo explains as he stands up and walks towards my direction. He stares into my eyes as if he's telling something.

"Do you remember what happened yesterday?" My eyes furrow when he asks me.

"No, I have this feeling that I lose my partial memories. But, I remember that I saw Youngjae, smiling in our direction, and it slithers me out." He frowns as he glances at me and then looks back at them.

"Do I need to be careful around Youngjae? I mean he did something horrible when he wanted me to go to that mansion but other than that, nothing." Jinwoo releases a deep sigh.

Suddenly, Jinwoo reaches my shoulder and places both hands, and says, "What do you think of Youngjae? Do you think he's sincere about his apology? Or did he seriously want to gain your trust again?"

"I mean, I don't know. I'm not ready to talk with him but I want him to give him another chance so we can be friends again." He rolls his eyes and walks away.

I sit down on the couch as I cross my arms and with my legs. Shortly, Taehyung sits beside me as he rests his left hand on my thighs.

"Min, I think you should avoid Youngjae from now on. He put you in the hole and he can do that anytime if you give him another chance. I didn't malign him in your presence but it's for your own best." I just nod.

I don't think I must trust him again since he pushed me out of the hole that risks my life but at some point, I want to forgive him just to ease the heaviness coming from my chest. Even Chleo, I chose to avoid her than giving a chance to be my friend again. Those two are my friends but when they're around the campus, my body showers and so, I decided to attend an online class.

Promptly, my eyes stare at them as they watch me, and I heed that their gaze has a pang of guilt inside yet I can't predict what that is.

"Is there anything wrong?" I implore yet no answer coming from them.

"You know you can tell me right? I'm not going to be mad at you all." Jungmin shakes his head as he looks away then nuzzled to Jinwoo. Taehyung just staring at me with a sting of guilt inside of his ocean blue eyes.

I can't take it anymore. I'm queasy when they can't tell me anything. It feels like I'm just a stranger in their eyes and I also feel that I don't have the privilege to know. They don't confide if they're guilty of something or not. But the way they gazed at me, I know something bad happened.

My lips release a deep heavy sigh and stand up.

"Where are you going?" Taehyung asks. I turn my body to face him and smile at him.

"Out," I mumble but before I could walk out, a strong fist clasps my wrist to stop me from walking. I take a glance at the wrist before lifting my face to see who that is.

"Don't go outside. It's dangerous." I sigh and push his hand away from my wrist.

"I need fresh air to think, Tae. I don't know what's going on when you all can't tell me. Your eyes were full of guilt while looking at me and I don't know what was supposed to mean. I don't know if some magical things happened yesterday that I couldn't remember." He sighs as he comes closer to me and says,

"There's nothing to think about Minsoo. What I'm saying was, it's very risky for you to go outside when someone watches you, everywhere. I don't know what to do if something happened to you."

"I'll be fine. I just want to have a nice walk and fresh air. I'll be back." I reply as I finally walked out of the apartment and go downstairs.

I take a deep breath as I lift my arms to feel the breeze which relieves the tension out of my body. I love the way that the sun gives a shine to the place as compliments to the strong breeze.

Afterward, I stroll to the playground to have a nice seat at the swing. I sit there, looking at the kids and their parents playing with them.

"Someday, I want to have kids and I'll let them play with their friends at the playground." I murmur as my eyes never leave them. I tap my feet as I hum a song whilst looking around.

"What are you doing here?" I hear a voice from beside me and I look at it and I glimpse at Amia. I smile at her when she sits on the swing.

"Just think about something. You? Why are you here?" I ask. She pulls a letter out of her pocket as she gives it to me and says,

"They instructed me to follow you for your safety." I furrow when she honestly answers my question.

"Why do you need to do that?"

"You will know someday but one thing I can tell you that someone important to you said to me that I need to keep an eye on you before I'll leave the town."

"Leave the town? Why?" She nods as she turns her face away from me and stares at the kids.

"Yes. I need to go back as soon as possible since I'm overstaying at this place. I enjoyed this place, to the point that I can't leave it but I can't. I do not belong here."

"You should be more prudent, especially to someone who wants your apology. It's not worth it for your forgiveness to that person." She continues as she glances at me.

"Huh? Mingyu also said that to me but I didn't understand what was supposed to mean." She then sighs as she stands up and kneels in front of me.

"That…that person is not worth it. It can be a trap that you can fall from. Just avoid that person and you'll be fine. If not, then tell Taehyung everything. He's the one who can help you and protect you." She announces.

"May I know who's that person?"

"You should know by now who's that person." She comments before stepping out of the playground, leaving me behind.

"Could that be…" I murmur as I stare at the letter that Amia just gives to me.
