41 Part-Time Job (II)

"Good evening, Ma'am and Sir, I'm Min. What can I get for you." I notice their eyes roam around the place, like someone chasing after them... or is it just my imagination? They look like a normal person to me, who just want to have a coffee in the middle of the night. My eyes slightly squint as I glance over them, feeling a bit confused but more terrified.

"Just two hot coffee please." They finally mumble after a minute of silence.

I smile at them and ask, "May I know the name?"

"Keisha and Grinne," I respond with a nod.

Afterward, they give me their money and step out of the counter without waiting for their change. Thus, they sit beside the enormous glance window. Jungmin gazes at them before roaming towards me and prepares their coffee.

"That was odd," I say to Jungmin.

"I know and they checked the shop if there's something wrong about this place." He whispers as he takes out the two paper cups before producing their hot coffee.

"They seemed astonished at someone or something so they were skeptical about their environment," I mutter whilst looking at the couple as Jungmin responds with a nod.

After a minute, I bestow their orders but before I could greet them and walk back, they slide off their bodies under the table as if they are hiding from something or more like someone. I take a peek at Jungmin, who's stunned as well.

"Are they here?" I raise an eyebrow as they ask an odd question. I don't comprehend if they are talking with me.

"Are you talking to me?" They nod. And so, I glance around yet no one is around.

"There's nothing here. Are you two kind of dealing with illegal stuff because it's not funny! You two can leave the shop and I don't want it to be involved." They sigh and shake, opposing me.

"We are not dealing with illegal stuff. It's kind of complicated but please, can you do us a favor, " I'm taken aback when they slide off the small bag on the table.

"What am I going to do with this?" I implore whilst looking at the small bag.

The man sighs and says, "Just take that bag, and if you see someone looks the same as us, place that substance inside their drinks."

"What?! No, I can't do that. What if it was kind of poison or something. I don't wish to kill anybody!" The man carefully stands up and places the bag in my palm.

"You'll understand if you see for yourself. We trust you." I blink multiple times, confused about what is happening at the same time, nervous since I'm involved in their complicated situation.

"Just tell me that this was not a drug." He shakes his head as he smiles at me, reassuring that it is safe.

"We'll hide here." I slowly nod and go back to the counter. Jungmin is standing there whilst staring at me.

"What was that?" I shrug my shoulder as I place the small bag inside my pocket.

"Jungmin, I'll just place the barrier on the parking lot." He nods. Hence, I walk out of the shop to place all the barriers that could close the parking lot so no one could use it in the middle of the night.

I get back inside the shop to finish my job.

Within a minute, I hear an engine coming from the outside and perch on the parking lot. And so, I hurriedly go back inside the counter when someone opens the door. Suddenly, my heart drops as my eyes widen when glimpsing at the couple standing in front of me. Instantly, I glance back at the table, where the couple is hiding. Yet, they're hiding under the table.

Was this kind of joke? Or Is it just their twins?

"Good evening, Ma'am and Sir, I'm Min. What can I get for you?" They stare at me and the man says, "Two coffees."

"May I know your name?" I ask, striving not to be obvious that I'm horrified.

"Kiesha and Grinne." I feel shivers onto my spine and swallow my saliva when heeding the same name of the couple a while ago.

"C-coming right up," I stutter.

But before I could prepare their coffee, I glance at the couple, signaling me to fulfill their favor. I release a deep breath and do their coffee. After that, I look around to see if there's Jungmin or Taehyung, luckily, they aren't around the counter.

Silently, I place the powdered substance onto their coffee before giving it to me. I smile at the couple and bestow the coffee.

"Have a nice night," I mumble as they back out of the shop. My shoulder drops when seeing them gone and stride back to the couple, who's hiding under the table.

"They're gone now," I whisper and they sit on the chair.

"What was that?" I ask

"It was our doppelganger. They wanted us to replace this world, so we always run away from them and places the substance of their drinks." I laugh at them.

"A doppelganger? T...that's not real." They just sternly look at me and don't say anything.

"You don't need to believe. Thank you, by the way." The woman mutters and gets out of the shop, leaving me alone in the shop.

I lock the main door before going inside the kitchen. "Tae, can I see the footage?" He tilts his head, confused.

"Why?" I sigh and tell them what happened a while ago.

We step inside Danielle's office to see the footage. "Play the footage at 10 in the evening." Taehyung plays the footage.

There's the first couple who's running outside as they went inside the shop to get their coffee, ordering their coffee at the counter before walking to the table, where they were seated. Thirty minutes later, after I placed the barrier on the parking lot, the car parked at the parking lot without putting out the barrier, and the same couple went inside the shop.

As I gave their coffee, they went outside the shop and got inside the car. What freaks me out when the car vanished right after they went inside the car.

"W...what was that? So, the doppelganger was true?" I gaze at them, who's shocked by the footage. Afterward, Taehyung closes the footage as we go out of the shop to get ready to leave and Jungmin says,

"So this was my first-time experience at my night shift."
