7 He's Just A Mere Human

"Minsoo, wait up!" Youngjae calls out with an exhaust pant. Within a second, I turn around to see him breathless before me. The sight of his face lighting up in only a red hue, humor me.

I laugh and remember the bottle of water I had purchased a while ago and offer to him. Instantly, he accepts the bottle and drinks it all in a split second.

"Thank you Minsoo." He releases a relief sigh and smiles widely.

"You're welcome."  I lift my hand up, watching the time.

"I'll leave you for now, I have class. See you later!" I announce and walk away but a palm around my wrist stops me from walking.

"I can take you to your class since I don't have class today." He leans closer to mine, pointing out his charms against me. My hand touches his head and pushes his head back before walking away.

My brows wrinkle when hearing a voice from nowhere. 'Leave that guy alone. He's dangerous.'

Within a second, my track stops to look around and search for the voice but see nothing. I look up to Youngjae.

"Did you say anything?" I ask, checks if he whispers to my ear and he shakes his head.

As we arrive in the room, my eyes glance at Taehyung, who's looking at us. More like glaring. 'To whom?' I thought to myself. There's an intense heat between their gaze.

Youngjae doesn't withdraw his fist and slowly clasps until it feels a sting around my wrist. I strive to remove his palm but he tightened the grip.

My mouth gasps when Youngjae's eyes transform into a pitch black.  "Y...Youngjae. Y...your eyes." I remove my wrist to his grip and back away. He releases a sigh and walks away without warning.

The pheromones flowing to Youngjae affect my system, it's dark and strong which causes my body trembles. My ears couldn't pick any adequate sounds when feeling a sting inside my head. I clasp my hair to remove the pain, it doesn't work.

Suddenly, my vision gets blurry as my body feels light and before I pass out, a familiar voice calls my name.

[My feet felt weakened running through the cold forest when three men chased after me. I didn't stop until I lost my track. My eyes wandered and unconsciously tripped by the enormous flock of woods, which agonized my ankle and elbow. I felt the sting beside my head and a warm liquid ran down my cheeks. My hand lifted up to stroke my head and unearth my own blood. I strived to stand when a men's figure walked towards me.]

I jolt in awake as I gasp, catching my own breath. My eyes scan the place and I'm at the clinic.

"Minsoo! Are you okay?" I stare at Jungmin.

"I guess? What happened?" I ask while struggling to sit but a shock inside my head that causes me to lay back.

"You passed out and Taehyung caught you." He mutters as he holds my hand.

"T...Taehyung? Where is he now, so I could thank him." I try getting up but he stops me and guides me to lay back.

"You could thank him later but for now, you need to recuperate for a while to gain your strength. Okay?" I nod.

I grab his hand to halt him when he's taking his leave. Within a second, he turns around to face me before sitting beside me.

"I...I dreamt…about it again but this time. 3 men chasing after…me, in the woods." I utter, glimpsing at the window and watching the students wandering the hallway.

"Anything else?" He asks. My eyes shift to glance at him and shake my head.

"Its o—" my words cut off when my eyes travel to Taehyung, who's standing behind Jungmin.

"Jungmin, can we talk?" He speaks without withdrawing his eyes on me. My mouth can't find a word.

"Okay. I also have something to say." He answers.

"You rest okay? I'll be back." I nod.

When they step outside, I take a deep breath before striving to get up however, this migraine and dizziness punch me off. I forcibly stand up and endure the pain before wandering elsewhere to search them. There, I see their figures standing up underneath the tree. I walk closer and hide under the tree to hear their discussion.

I sigh,  'This is my last time rumoring to other conversations.'

"Jungmin, we need to do something! That guy is getting on my nerve." Taehyung announces.

"He's just a mere human Taehyung. You don't have to worry. Besides, his intention was to get friends with her." He says as he shrugs. Who're they referring to? Is it Youngjae?

"Jungmin, you know what I saw. Don't deny it! The more she got closer to him, the more it could become risky for her." I frown.

'Why is it a threat to me?' I thought to myself.

"I know Tae but what worries me is her dream."

"Her dream?" He nods.

"It di—" I leave without finishing their conversation. My feet lead to the ground and sit on the bench.

My head leans up, looking at the bright, blue sky and I smile when the cold breeze athwart my face.

"Should I worry about Youngjae? He's my friend, isn't it? What happened before I lost consciousness?" I murmur, leaning my back on the bench as I cross my arms.

"My life begins to strange ever since I moved here and the questions are left unanswered. Now, a recent dream appeared. What really happened 10 years ago? Taehyung, who are you and what are you to me?"

"What are you doing here? You are supposed to rest in the clinic." I pick up a familiar voice behind me, I turn around and see Daewool, crossing his arms.

"I followed Taehyung and Jungmin," I reply.

Suddenly, he sits beside me.

"And what did you hear?" I'm stunned when he knew I overheard the conversations.

"Don't look at me like that. I'm not stalking you." He says

"Right. I presume that they were talking about Youngjae." He just hums before taking a pill out of his bag and gives the pill to me.

"Get some to feel you better." I nod and place the medicine inside my mouth before drinking my water.

"Daewool. Do you know what happened before I passed out?" His gaze becomes serious with a grimace on his brows.

"Don't you remember?" My head cocks on the side, confused, and shakes my head as an answer.

"I see. I don't know Minsoo. I'm sorry."

"Really? It seems that you know everything but since you mentioned that you don't know. I let it slide." I reply and give him a glare.

"L...let's go Minsoo. Your twin must be worried about you. T...they are in the cafeteria" He stutters. 'My intuition says that he knew what happened before I passed out. But why didn't he tell me? Is it that bad?' I thought to myself.

We reach the cafeteria to meet others. I see Taehyung, who's sitting beside Minseok and I walk to him and pat his shoulder for his attention.

"Thank you for catching me while I passed out." He smiles and nods.

"It's okay. It is my duty to keep you secure." I frown.

"Why? Didn't you say we aren't friends and now it's your responsibility to keep me safe?" I implore but he doesn't answer.

I sigh and walk away from the cafeteria. Instantly, footsteps coming from behind. My head swirls over and sees Taehyung, who's following me.

I stop striding and say "Why are you giving me a mixed signal?" He releases a heavy sigh, walks closer to me, and reaches my both hands.

"That's what I need to do."

"Why?" He unwraps his hands onto mine and places his palm to my cheeks.

"I can't tell you but I promise you, I will do everything to make you safe." My happiness escalates when feeling his warm body around me.

'I wish the moment we've shared couldn't last forever, however, making you closer is a melangé for both of us.'
