Point Of View: Author

Kageyama Shoyo, Nakamura Kenji, Shimizu Mamoru were sitting by making a circle while a candle and some pieces of paper were in the middle.

"Listen… Before we go anywhere, you all need to do something." Said Shoyo with a very serious face.

"Tell us." Said Nakamura.

"First, we'll go to each of our houses." Said Shoyo.

Mamoru was surprised, "I really wanted to go to see my granny, but I couldn't tell you guys. Thank you Shoyo-kun."

But after a few moments Mamoru's face became sad.

She said, "But isn't it too dangerous for us to go to see each of our house."

"Yeah, for that.... We'll go together one by one to each of our houses. That will be the safest option." Replied Shoyo.

Nakamura was satisfied with Shoyo's reply.

"But guys…Don't forget one thing. We still need to get out of this shitty area. And we need a vehicle to travel…Otherwise who knows what might happen." Shoyo warned everyone.

"Yeah, but for now, let's get our bags and start preparing to get out." Said Nakamura.

After a few minutes:

Three of them got fully prepared to get out.

"Let's go. And guys...Keep your eyes and ears open." said Shoyo.

They all got out of the building and saw some zombies were here and there. But they couldn't hear the three of them because while getting ready Shoyo warned them that their first priority would be, "Not to make sound."

So, the three of them quietly moved on until they saw a zombie standing in front of them.

"Do not make a sound, and do not move a muscle." Whispered Shoyo.

By hearing this from Shoyo, none of them dared to move. But suddenly the zombie slowly came towards Shoyo and smelled him. Shoyo tried his best not to move. After a few seconds the zombie went away.

"Man, I thought that I was a goner." Said Shoyo.

"I bet you enjoyed it. It was a female zombie after all." Said Nakamura.

"Please don't even joke about that." Said Shoyo in a tired voice.

Somehow Mamoru was feeling a little bit jealous hearing Nakamura's words.

When they were walking, they found a jeep which had almost no scratches.

"Hey, it is rare to find such an unharmed vehicle here." Said Mamoru.

"Let's see if it starts." Nakamura walked to the car.

"Wait, you know how to drive?" asked Shoyo.

"Yeah, my old man taught me to drive the rusted little truck. I learnt driving from there." Said Nakamura while finding the keys.

When they didn't find a key, Shoyo said, "Start it manually."

"Ok, you got it boss." Said Nakamura. He took out the two wires and collided them. The jeep made a slight sound of getting started. But after a few tries they were finally able to start the car.

"Where should we go to first?" said Shoyo.

"Umm, the closest place from here is my house, let's go there." Said Nakamura by showing the map.

Both of them agreed.

But suddenly a zombie came and started to hit the car.

"Shit, they were attracted by the sound of the engine." Said Shoyo.

Nakamura moved the car and started to drive nicely. But suddenly a lot of zombies came towards the car.

"Listen Nakamura, for the sake of our lives, please don't stop the car." Shouted Mamoru. Her arms were tightly holding Shoyo's as she was afraid a lot.

The jeep was jerking a lot because some zombies were being run over. But after a while they were finally able to get rid of the zombies and went to a safe.

Fifteen minute later:

Nakamura stopped the car, "This is my house."

"Okay let's get down, but please be on guard." Said Shoyo.

They entered the house and saw that it was a simply normal house like any other country people.

"I came here to see my younger brother." Nakamura said.

"Hmm you had a younger brother. I see… But where are your parents?" Mamoru looked at Nakamura.

"Oh, they live in Tokyo for work." Nakamura said while going towards the washroom. He saw that the bathtub was covered with the sheet. He pulled it out and saw an eleven to twelve years old kid lying unconscious on the tub.

"Is this your brother?" helped Shoyo to take the kid out of the tub.

"Yeah." Nakamura replied. Both of them took the kid to the bed and checked his pulse.

"He'll be fine. He's just exhausted." Said Shoyo. Nakamura was relieved because he thought that a zombie had bitten his brother.

"Listen…We cannot stay here for too long. It's not safe. Let's take Kaoru and go to your place." Nakamura told Shoyo.

"Hmm…. So your brother's name is Kaoru…. Nice name. Let's go." Said Shoyo.

Nakamura took some things in his bag and they took the kid in the jeep and Nakamura started to drive. Shoyo gave Nakamura his address so that they could go to Shoyo's house.

Shoyo's house:

"Hey…. Kageyama-kun, who is this pretty lady with you?" Asked Mamoru pointing at a picture of Rumia and Shoyo.

"Oh this?" Shoyo took the picture in his hands.

"This is my big sis." Shoyo had a sad look when he saw that picture. Mamoru noticed this and said that, "Don't worry. I am sure your sister is fine."

Shoyo is not someone whole can be consoled easily, but hearing this from Mamoru gave him a light of hope. But when Mamoru saw the picture, she felt a tiny bit of jealousness for a second.

Shoyo took the photo inside his bag. He also took some other important things while Nakamura was checking out something over his phone.

He saw that just for a moment, a tiny bit of network came to his phone and again got disconnected. He thought that it was just his imagination because he had a deep addiction over anime, so he got the habit of checking the network connection of the phone.

Suddenly Mamoru tripped and fell in front of Shoyo accidentally.

"Owwie." She touched her leg but saw Shoyo was staring at her. She was confused but, in a moment, she understood what was happening and covered herself up, "Where are you looking at?"

"Oh! I am sorry." Shoyo helped her up. When he looked at her face, he saw that it was red like a tomato.

"Hey, are you done? We need to get out soon." Nakamura warned.

"Yeah, just a sec."

After that, all of them packed up and went towards Mamoru-san's house.

Suzuki Mamoru Residence:

"Okay, this is your house. Isn't it?"

"Yes. But I'm afraid to go inside." Mamoru-san looked nervous.

"Don't worry." Shoyo held her hands.

They went inside. Shoyo understood that Mamoru was worried about her grandmother. She is the only family left for her. But suddenly Shoyo came back to his senses after hearing a weird sound. Mamoru looked pale.

All of them headed towards the kitchen as the sound was coming from there...

!!!!!!! Shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There was an old zombie in the kitchen slamming her head in the wall.

Mamoru saw that and gave out a loud scream, "Granny!!!!!"

She was about to run towards her but Shoyo grabbed her.

"Let me go, let me go!!!!" she was crying loudly and struggling to get off.

"Calm down, Mamoru-san. Please!!!!" said Shoyo as Mamoru's grandmother was coming towards them.

"We'll make your granny unconscious by using methane gas, calm down." Said Shoyo. But Mamoru wasn't listening at all. Shoyo had to grab her waist tightly, Nakamura was also holding her.

"Damn, this is one strong girl." He said.

"What are you doing!!! Get the gas cylinder. Don't you see the zombie coming towards us?" I yelled at Nakamura.

Shoyo POV:

Nakamura went to get the gas cylinder. But the zombie had come too close us.

"Ah… Is this the end?" I said to myself. *BANG* a very loud noise. Again, two times.

I could not hear anything for a few seconds. It took me a moment to understand what was going on. I saw an old man holding a gun and smoke was getting out from it. He hanged the gun on his shoulder and took out a cigarette to smoke.

"Granny!" Mamoru-san got out of my grip and went to his dead zombie granny. She was crying a lot...

I started to get angry all of a sudden.

"Why did you kill the woman?" I asked.

"Why you say? Don't you see she's a fricking zombie?" replied the old man exhaling a huge puff of smoke.

"Yeah but we could make her unconscious with the methane gas." Replied Nakamura. The old man stared at Nakamura for a few seconds and suddenly started to laugh.

This was getting on my nerves. Nakamura clenched his teeth and said, "You shitty old geezer! Why are you laughing?"

The old man laughed for a few more seconds and suddenly stopped.

"What were you going to do after making her unconscious?" he asked.

"We are gonna wait for a cure. I'm sure it will be invented sooner or later." Replied Nakamura.

"Do you have a guarantee that this will happen?" asked the old man.

I and Nakamura were about to say a word but he stopped us and again asked, "Moreover, do you have any guarantee that you will be able to put the zombie in sleep every time it wakes up? Will you be lucky every time?"

This time his words had logic but it was still a matter of regret the Mamoru-san's grandmother died. The poor girl was still crying. I could not say anything against the old man either. All I could do was to feel sorry for Mamoru-san.

"Let's get out of here." I held Mamoru san's hands yet again.

"Do you have anything to take from your house?" I asked softly.

She nodded her head, "I will just take a photo."

She got up and took photo of she and her family all together from the wall and put it in her bags.

"Hey, since it's a Sunday. I'll give you an offer." Said the old man.

"I'll let you join with me and then it'll be easy to survive if we work together." He said.

Nakamura was about to say no but I stopped him, "Yes, we'll join you."

Both Mamoru and Nakamura were surprised at my answer.

"Kid, you are smart." Said the old man. It was not a bluff, not a compliment but a serious word which send chills through my spines.

After that we got out and went in the jeep. While getting out of the house, Nakamura asked me why I agreed.

I replied," Listen both of you… We all saw that he has a gun, right? He was also experienced. It would be better for us to accept."

They were about to complain for my decision but I stopped them, "Listen, that is not the only reason. If we disagreed, we would get killed by him because he saw that we had food and vehicle. That is the most probable reason why he entered the house."

"So, he wants our car?" said Nakamura.

"Yeah, so it's better for us to join him for now." I replied.

Both of them agreed to my plan. But Mamoru-san was looking with full of hatred towards the old man because he killed her grandmother....
