Friendship

The next day, morning. 8:30 AM. 

Hospital

Diana was still sleeping while Brian was admiring her. He was thinking that she looked beautiful even while sleeping. He was admiring her peaceful face, her rosy pink lips, and her soft cheeks. But suddenly he saw a strand of hair touching her cheeks gently before they could disturb her sleep, Brian got up from his chair and tried to tuck them behind her hair but Diana got up from Brian's touch. Seeing Diana opening her eyes and those gorgeous brown eyes looking at him, Brian took a step back as fast as he could. 

"Don't get me wrong! I was just trying to put those hair behind your ear." Brain said with nervousness all over his face. 

"It's fine. So..why are you here?" Diana asked as she got up and sat up.

"Oh, I was here to deliver this." Brian said as he gave her a piece of paper. 

Diana took the piece of paper and took a glance at it. "A bravery certificate? That's nice I guess." 

"Yeah. As you needed rest and I coincidentally met your friend Suzan on the way. She asked me to deliver it to you." Brian said. 

"Shouldn't you be going to work hough?" Diana asked as she looked at Brian.

"You know I wouldn't say you can call me anytime if I was not available." Brian said with a smile.

Diana smile but then her eyes widened "You shouldn't have… you took leave for a week?" 

"Leave? No! I am just doing my work from here." Brian said as he showed his laptop case that was kept on the couch.

"Oh, I see..hmm then um I will go freshen up...oww...okay forgot my right hand is injured." Diana said as she put a lot of pressure on her injured hand while getting up. 

Seeing Diana in pain Brian got up from his seat and helped her get up slowly. 

"You sure you don't need help in washroom? I'll keep my eyes closed if that's what you are worried about." Brian said as he opened the door of washroom and looked at Diana with concerned looks. 

"My..hand is injured not legs. If I can't I will call you, okay?" Diana said as she patted his shoulders and gave him an assurance look with a smile. 

Seeing this Brian got back to his work, he took some calls while Diana was in the washroom. But after a while when he was still on a call, he saw the door of washroom opening a little and then saw Diana poking her head out and signalling him to come here.

"I'll call you later sir." Brian said as he saw all that and then walked towards the washroom.

"What happened?" Brian asked.

"Uhm...I got my period...so I need a pair of clothes and….um a pad." Diana said with awkwardness. 

"You got it. Anything else?" Brian asked.

"Nope, but um..thanks." Diana said with a smile and then closed the door lightly. 

'Oh, God! The guy is good looking, gentle, muscular, considerate...ugh! If it were not for this bruise I would've eaten that chocolate!' Diana thought as she let her imagination go wild.

General Store.

'What else would she need..should I ask mom? Well she is the only person..I could ask....oh god please have mercy on me and let mom NOT have any weird thoughts.' Brian prayed before he called his mother. 

"Hey mom!" Brian said with a cheerful voice. 

"Yes sweetheart?" His mom replied.

"Uh mom..what do girls like to eat or drink on their periods..or any other thing that could help them with the pain?" Brian asked as he scratched the back of his head. 

"Hmm well, you can give her chocolates, a hot water bag, talk with her, massage her. But who is the girlfriend though?" His mother asked with a teasing voice. 

'You are never on my side, are you?' Brian thought before he answered his mother's question.

"It's just a friend ma, no girlfriend. But anyways, thanks for telling me. I'll meet you at dinner!" Brian said as he hung up the call. 

After 30 mins.

"I'm sorry I got late but here is your pad..I was really unsure of the brand so I searched a bit on internet and these two were rated best. Then I bought some other things which will help you with the pain..cramp stuff." Brian said as he huffed and puffed.

"Okay.." Diana said with shocked expression. 

After showing whatever Brian had bought for Diana was really shocking for her. She had asked for a pack of pad but it looked like he bought the whole general store along it. 

"You shouldn't have bought all of that...it really looks like you bought the whole general store here you know…" Diana said. 

"The whole general store would not fit in here. By the way, it's almost breakfast time. You wanna eat something? Oh wait, I already got French Toast and believe me it's really delicious!" Brian said as he remembered the taste of French Toast. 

'A delicious thing complimenting another delicious thing. Interesting.' Diana thought as she nodded her head and sat to eat breakfast with Brian. 

While doing breakfast, Diana & Brian found out that they had a lot in common. They had same music taste, they had watched similar shows, read same genre books. The breakfast which was supposed to go for 30 minutes max went on for 2 hours with them talking peacefully. Diana's conversation was interrupted as she saw a call from Suzan. After talking to her she looked at her lock screen and her happy face turned into serious sad face..

Seeing this sudden change of expressions Brian got worried. He was hesitant to ask about this as they were not that close yet but seeing such a beauty sad was killing him inside. 

"Is..something the matter Diana?" Brian asked as he looked into Diana's eyes with concern.

"Huh? Um...um no. I'm fine." Diana said as she looked away. 

"Well, I understand. It's perfectly fine if you don't wanna tell me. But I'm right here sitting on this couch if you wanna tell your worries." Brian said with a smile.
