11 Three Months Later

"Daisy the paperwork for Leah Smiths case is missing. Have you seen it?" Andrew yelled from the file room. He had noticed since she started working everything was always where it should be, but seeing those guys flirt with Alison made him mad. Since she became the receptionist no woman approached him but the men around her were like bees to flowers.

"Coming sweetie. One moment please my fiancee seems to forget where he placed things."

Hearing her say that he rolled his eyes while fanning himself with the file. Seeing her walk in still made his heart thump more than it should. 'This is only a fake engagement why do I have to be so jealous seeing these men around her?' In fact it wasn't those men he was mad at. It was that husband of hers. Tony was still looking high and low for her without realizing that the woman he tried to woo daily was her.

Mindy always laughed about it. She thought it was the funniest thing in the world to see the esteemed doctor come down to flirt with his own wife who was hiding from him. Her and Alison talked about every night after Ali called to taunt him from a private line. Still the death threats she got made it worse over time.

"Can we go one day without you flirting with half the town? Your supposed to be madly in love with me and unwilling to leave my side. How do you think it looks for the towns only lawyer to get snubbed by his future wife?"

"I don't know. How bad does it look for the wife of the towns best doctor to skip town leaving him flirting with any woman he sees? I can argue with you all day but still I can't pretend to want to be chained down so soon after leaving that thing."

That thing was her new nickname for Tony when it was just the two of them. He secretly called him that asshole, but he also knew using those words to describe that man made her feel like she was being judged. Pulling her close he made sure the we're in sight of the men outside.

"Just pretend your Juliette being saved by Romeo. Daisy you know I will always love you and I will never hurt you. So please give me a chance? I am fighting tooth and nail to get this divorce to go through faster."

He kissed her gently before thanking her softly for the help before turning back towards his office and walking off. Watching his back she didn't know how she should feel anymore. Alison really liked Andrew but at the same time she didn't want to pin herself down so soon. Looking at the many people in the waiting room she sighed deeply before heading back to her desk.

Maintaining a smile she spoke in a reliable tone to the many patrons. "Please if your here to meet Mr. Sullivan and have an appointment wait on the left. If you need to schedule an appointment please move to the right. Any deliveries please come forward and if your not in those three categories please let us get our work done. Everyone is important to us but we need to help our clients first."

Andrew heard her little speech from his office and chuckled to himself. It was the same speech she made everyday for a week straight after she started here. Thinking of all she had accomplished in these past three months he couldn't help but shake his head at what Tony had given up. She was great at finances and made both his office and home finances much easier to understand. Cooking was another thing he didn't expect her to know that well. His house also now had a more homey feel to it and practically looked brand new from all the work she did in it.

Those types of things he never expected from a woman like her but every new thing she showed made him love her more. Just the fact that she could smile despite what she had been through drew him to her. Alison had a quality that made him want her but also one that made her way out of his league. Looking up he seen that eyesore walking into the waiting room outside. Standing up he headed to Alison wondering why he would suddenly be there.

"Daisy darling what time is my next appointment? Dr. Hight what are you in for? I already told you your wife hasn't agreed to your terms. In fact she said she would rather run for the rest of her life then see you again once."

"Andrew let's cut to the chase. Where is my wife hiding? I assume she is nearby but I have no clue as to where. I just went to the police to file a missing persons report. They will be searching for her but in the meantime miss Daisy won't you do me the honor to have lunch with me?"

"No thank you! A married man shouldn't flirt with a nearly married woman. Besides I wouldn't want a man as despicable as you. After talking to Alison I doubt any woman would want you."

"What has that venomous woman said to make you view me this way? I will kill her for slandering my good name in this community."

"Is that a threat on one of our clients Dr. Hight?"

"Take it as you want Andrew. You know as well as I do how venomous the woman is. After all she put you through in college are you still harboring feelings for her? She never even saw you as a man."

Hearing all Tony said Alison wondered if he butted in between her and Andrew. It seemed like something he would do. Looking at Tony she wondered how much more she would have to stomach hearing from him before she could leave town for good. Her only regret was Andrew getting hurt in the long run.
