Prologue

"Tell me, is it true?" He said. His thunderous voice was cold, not welcoming. Certainly asking for confirmation straight from her.

"Raf..." She voiced but none came out. She looked at his back down to his fist, tightly closed against the couch’ backrest , his veins could grow and explode.

"Just tell me, is it true?" Have you been with Nate for a week? He slowly turned his face backward to see her ,only to find out his orbs' flashes switching with his lupine. He definitely was trying to control his anger.

She began to feel uneasy ...Breathe, Alundra. Her heart beat faster and louder. His words were like hundreds of knives that stabbed her heart She looked at him, but his raging crystal blue eyes were staring at her ready to rip her flesh away in just one snap.

"Raf, I...I can explain" her trembling voice came out finally. "I'm sorry" Her tears fell out of fear and confusion. "I was with him... I'm sorry I didn't... I didn't mean to leave right away, after what happened between us." Still trembling but she managed to speak.

"Good then ." Her eyes widened as she could see his lips rose. He smirked.

"It won't be too hard for me to leave you now."He closed his eyes and sighed with his back slouched to hold the couch' backrest. His switching face gone, Atticus might have subsided his urge to take over. With a hardened jaw he closed his eyes, practically slowing down his temper.

Seconds then, he gently opened his eyes and looked at her again bearing his cold stare. Stoic. No emotion.

" I was ready to leave everything for you, my life, my pack." He smirked again.

After all you just proved to me how worthless choosing you over my pack." Her tears overflowed and fell like falls, echoing in her ears the words he spoke.

"He's going to leave me?" She started to realize, with shaking knees, she managed to step a little bit closer wanting to reach his hand on the backrest, but she hesitated and settled herself staring at him. He's in pain, obviously.

"Raf..." she pleaded.

"Sluts like you would never be worth my sacrifices." His jaw tightened while his eyes seemed burning in anger. "Raf...what do you mean?Please... I'm sorry!” She begged..

She cried while reaching his hands. "Please, let's fix this. I'm... Sorry".

"You know what hurts me more? I thought I could trust you ... I thought I could finally be happy...That you'll never betray me like what they did..."

He shut his eyes, uninvited tears escaped and flowed upon his trembling cheeks. The mighty Rafael Gabriel Fernandez, Blue Moon Packs’ dignified Alpha was consumed by pain of betrayal, he shed tears over her.

"I lived my whole life chasing for love. I thought I had it now, but this ... Life couldn't just be... It's hardly fair. I don't know what I've sinned. Those people I always loved... always end up leaving me. Am I not worthy enough?"

"No, please Raf ...! I love you, please. Don't leave me" She shook her head, reluctant, unwilling to submit into probable break-up. "We can still fix this, If you just listen." Her voice was begging, soft and hopeful.

"You said you'll spend your life with me right?" She kneeled, pride couldn't be important for the moment, if she needed to kneel and beg, she would...totally didn't care about her pride. All she wanted was to convince him to stay, it means life to her.

"You slept with Nate, didn't you?" She stiffened- way too far from what she expected Raf's reason for unwelcoming argument. "No..." She shouted."Raf, it's not what you think... I mean we didn't ... "

"Alundra, stop fooling me. I saw it myself." He held his face upward holding back his tears. She was shocked, unable to respond to his revelation. Raf was there... He did see them, "No, he shouldn't been there!" she thought, but how could she explain it was not what he suppose to think.

"Raf, please.... I'm sorry, please... Let me... Let me explain please!" she begged for at least a minute or two for her to plead, at least to take away his rage of miscalculating what he saw.

"Me, being a werewolf, was called to live with mates, but never in my mind filled the desire to search for one since that day I found you. I wished you to be my mate...No, I prayed for you, I asked the goddess for this. That's why I spent my life believing in our destiny together."

"Raf..."she shook her head in disagreement. Tears kept running down her heart crushed.

"From now on, let us forget each other... The promise...the love... All gone before it started. Thank you for everything, Alundra... for both happiness and pain you've caused. Enough."

"Oh my God!, No...no.. Don't do this Raf, I'm sorry...please."

He sighed, in defeat. "I now let you go, Alundra Howell." His voice subdued, shaking.

"From now on, forget everything about me. I am rejecting our destiny. I am rejecting you, as my human mate." He took steps towards her, he opened her palm and put the greatest gift she had...from him, their engagement ring. What does it mean? Her eyes grew wider, disagreeably cried harder.

"Why did it happen to be in his possession? I was wearing it last night. I didn't unwear it since he placed it on my finger!" Her mind screamed of confusion. Raf! she called him but he never turned his gaze again.

"Goodbye Alundra Howell" without looking, he turned and walked away from her.. from her life. The familiar pain was again crawling to his utmost being. It had been on his mind that his love for Alundra would test his fate…his destiny, yet, he chose to gamble; he even had opted to let go of Blue Moon and live as mortal like her. His heart wrenching of grief, the loss of his greatest love. His tears flowed down streaming continuously. Pain totally consumed him. He was betrayed once again, and this time , he wondered how he could survive.

“Are you breaking up with me without hearing my explanation?” she strengthened her voice hoping Raf would consider. If she needs to beg, she will do everything to make him stay. “Please let me explain.” She sobbed harder, afraid of being left alone. From that day she realized she loved him, she accepted the fact that she could not live without him. He’s her life.

"No, no..." Alundra cried ,while kneeling she sobbed harder, covering her face with her hands. "Aren't you gonna fight for us ...Raf?" She pleaded, still sobbing hard but no one could hear... Not even him.

She was left alone...again.
