Vesna - National State of Emergency

A few days earlier...

Without any explanation, everyone from the streets to the homes and buildings was unconscious. It was as if, every person in Vesna had fallen asleep at the same time.

It took them time to wake up. Some people even began panicking since it might be the end of the world. They were confused why it happened nationally.

The internet was down and they had no idea why. The public began contacting the authorities for further details but even they were clueless.

The government office was in shambles since the President and some cabinet members were missing. Only the vice-president was currently present so she took over and organized the country. She sent out her team to find the President. She couldn't believe he would be missing during this important time.

Regardless, it was a national state of emergency.

First, she contacted the experts, the physicists, the CEO of the Razin Tech, the military general, and few political officials into a meeting. It was being held inside the Vesna capitol. Even this incident was too much for her so she needed the experience and advice of those who knew more.

Vice-president Hannah Seinne had blond hair. She looked strict and was even tough sometimes. She was also Melvin's childhood friend.

Then their phones rang. There were several complaints to the authorities. There were multiple reports of missing individuals. Gathering all the calls they received, they gauged about a thousands of the people were gone.

"What?!" The Vice President found it surprising. It was alarming news after all. She was even worried if the President was one of them. She couldn't manage the country alone after all.

But for now, she needed to do what was necessary. She called the military.

They then sent out several rescue teams from the military to locate them. They sent out a few CH-53 Sea Stallion copters to scout the areas. They were helicopters specialized in transport with their vessel space.

She may even need to call the navy since they could have ended up drowning in the middle of the ocean.

To her surprise, while she was in the office the navy called to her. It was something unexpected. The country of Vesna was reported to be found in a different location.

"How is this possible?! That can't be."

Originally they were found between a vast ocean, but now it was reported that Vesna was situated on a lake. The surrounding areas were described to be that of a murky swamp.

The seaport was also damaged. And now the military was waiting for further orders. She instructed to have it repaired immediately.

If they were located on a lake, then all they could do was rely on the air units. She ordered the helicopters to scout the areas.

Suddenly, they held a meeting in the capitol which she quickly joined.

They have now seated. A woman from the media came forward. She was dressed well and went into the microphone.

Cameras were found on the sides flashing at the important people found in the middle.

"Ms. VP, the public is curious about what happened. Before the majority of us fainted, we saw a meteor coming towards our country. I saw it, I was on the window back then in my apartment. Do you have any explanation for this?"

VP Hannah then answered. "This incident has been a mystery for us. In the first place, when was the last time this happened. Four hundred thousand people don't just faint out of nowhere simultaneously. Also, it might be hard to believe this but our country have been teleported elsewhere."

The people gasped at what they heard. The press was writing quick and taking notes. The cameras were focused on her.

"Is this true?"

"We have contacted the navy and those people who were found on the borders. Their testimony spoke one thing. We are in a different location."

The people were bothered by what they heard. They could have been teleported in deep forests of south America for all they know.

"But don't fret, we will take care of this as fast as we can." Vice President said to the public reassuringly.

The public had no choice but to rely on the government.

The chairman then followed it up with another question. "Ms. VP, is it true that some people have gone missing and were found somewhere else?"

"We received plenty of calls of missing people. They could have ended up somewhere but we are currently looking for them."

"Then to another question. Where are we now? Internet don't work and we can't contact anyone outside of our country."

Even if their mobile data and wi-fi were on, there was no data transfer. It was as if they just got blocked from using the internet. The only signal they could receive was from the cellular towers found in their country.

Razin, the CEO of the Razin tech stood up. He was wearing a dark glass. He was a half-Indian and half vesnian citizen. He was the only person in the room whose attire was casual. He had a goatee and well cut hair.

"Well if we are transported somewhere it's only natural that our connection got cut. The cables found underwater was no longer connected after all. It's only natural but there is one issue, however. You can connect to satellites wherever you are on the globe. But why can't I?"

If they were transported on the depths of south america or africa, they could still connect to the sattelites.

He showed his phone to everyone in the room. All the services that required satellites were also disconnected.

The people then caused their eyes to widen. Everyone was surprised since they were leading to one conclusion. But they refused to speak it.

"You're saying that we are not as of the moment present on earth?" VP Hannah said.

Everyone frowned upon it. Some bit their lip. It was outrageous. In the first place, the idea of them fainting simultaneously was already ridiculous.

Razin nodded. "For now, I'm going to launch my internet servers for the public to use. But don't expect it to be as good as google. It only had 400 sites as of the moment."

Razin had resources and servers found in his company to establish an internet connection. Those sites were what was left in their servers.

Most internet physical servers were found in the US and some were spread out across the globe. They had to endure it for now with the limited internet.

Once the internet of Razin Tech was launched, the Vesnian people should be able to use a different social media that would be made by someone from their country.

The developers quickly called to the Razin Tech to have their social media app to be quickly in use. It was buggy and less UI-friendly than Facebook. The app was referred to as friendtouch.

The first post made by a user was, "Is this real?"

Schools and offices were quickly closed. Those who were found working and in the classrooms were told to go home. The country was in a state of emergency.

The people were told to stay inside their homes. Though those people who had missing relatives were panicking. They already were tired of several lockdowns from before.

Most people were watching their TV from their homes. Most were worried. Some were not even affected while others were scared. Though there was an excited minority. These were the otakus, they began using the social media forums.

Outside the country, they were surrounded by waters. Beyond the waters were the thick and dark trunks. The environment was damp. It was of course a swamp. The CH-53 helicopters were roving above the forests, they were moving farther from the country. Their visibility of the swamp was low since it was dim.

Their large flashlights hanging on the helicopter were shone across the thick woods. They could see the swamp now in greater detail.

Even the ground was muddy and not ideal to step on. Their goal was to find their lost citizens.

Some managed to find the lost Vesnian citizens. There were 3 men limping from the forest asking for help.

"This is Seeker Unit-5, found at 3 o clock from our position, 3 civilians in danger are spotted." They descended slowly and threw out a rope ladder for them to climb.

The rest of the helicopters managed to rescue the others as well. They identified they were from Vesna. Some were employees that could even showed their IDs.

There were a thin fog accompanying the breath of the swamp. As they flew deeper, the air units heard some rumbling. There were a flock of birds that flew away after being disturbed by something.

Looking below there was a stampede of creatures. They got surprised seeing they were giant spiders, destroying anything on their paths. They had tall and hairy dark legs and giant bodies.

Worse, it was heading to their country.

A radio noise was heard after one soldier used his walkie-talkie.

"This is Finder Unit-1, unknown creatures resembling giant spiders are heading to our rear, over."
