37 Don't Force Yourself

"Madam, please make way for us to examine Master Li." A few weary doctors walked into the ward and swarmed toward Li Xingyi.

Jiang Yule was about to stand up when she saw Li Xingyi suddenly open his eyes. His amber-colored eyes stared coldly at the doctor who had asked Jiang Yule to move aside, but he did not say a word. He then stared at her until her hair stood on end.

The employees of the Li Corporation were all smart people. The doctor wisely decided to change tactics. "On second thought, why don't you stay put, Madam? You sitting here won't delay anything."

Li Xingyi slowly closed his eyes. The surrounding doctors ignored their surprise, and heaved a sigh of relief.

Jiang Yule was speechless. 'The heck was that? Are you trying to enact some "marriage before love" drama? Or do you think that keeping someone as strong as me around will give you a sense of security?'

Li Xingyi almost could not hold back from speaking. Instead, he thought, 'Forget it, with your small build, you'll be blown away with just a gust of wind.'

The inspection process was extremely complicated. It took a while, so Li Xingyi fell asleep again, and Jiang Yule was finally able to get away and relax for a while. She stood in the corridor in a daze. A handsome male nurse passed by her frequently, looking at her as though he had something to say.

It was only when Jiang Yule was about to leave when he mustered up the courage to stop her.

"Madam Li..." He smiled shyly. His tidy appearance gave off a good impression.

Jiang Yule nodded and smiled at him. "Hello, what's the matter?"

Seeing her kind smile, the male nurse, who was initially hesitant, gathered his courage again. "There's something I've been hesitant to tell you, but I don't think you should be kept in the dark. So, here it is.

"The elevator malfunctioned quite suddenly. It was not an accident. Someone deliberately sabotaged it."

After saying this, he lowered his head and looked at Jiang Yule from the corner of his eyes, wanting to see her reaction. However, Jiang Yule did not show the panic and shock that he had imagined. She even looked calm.

Where was the fragile little flower he expected to see?

"Do you know who did it?" Jiang Yule's expression did not change, but she was secretly sizing up this unfamiliar young man. She had a feeling that he did not come just to tell her this. If it had been a real issue, why did he not tell his superiors? Why did he come to her?

The male nurse heard her question and subconsciously gulped. "I was getting some fresh air on the rooftop when I heard some strange noises coming from the elevator's engine room..."

He glanced at Jiang Yule's expression first before continuing, "I took a peek inside. I saw a tall and muscular man there, but I couldn't see his face clearly. He was wearing a dark-green jacket and black pants. I didn't get to see what kind of shoes he was wearing."

Jiang Yule mulled over his description. She was about to say something when Wang Jianguo suddenly poked its head out of her pocket. 'Host! Wasn't Zuo You wearing a dark-green jacket and black pants when he came to the hospital today?!'

"...I understand." Jiang Yule suddenly asked, "Does anyone else know about this?"

The male nurse did not expect her to accept this information so easily. He himself was still a little frazzled by it. "Uh, I didn't tell anyone else."

Jiang Yule smiled. "You came to tell me this because you have something else to say, right?"

His hidden thoughts were seen through with a single glance! The nurse blushed slightly. 

He gritted his teeth, and then, as if he had come to a decision, he said, "Do you feel... lonely in your daily life? Do you need someone to accompany you? I can accompany you. Look, I have an acceptable appearance, I'm good at taking care of things, and I'm not clingy."

Wang Jianguo could not bear to listen to this, so it simply retreated into its shell.

Jiang Yule raised her eyebrows. "Don't force yourself to say all this. I know that you prefer men."

The male nurse was shocked and could not help but curse under his breath. No one had ever told him that Jiang Yule was a mind reader who could even discern someone's sexual orientation!

"You... Who told you this?!" He subconsciously took two steps back.

Jiang Yule smiled. "Your natural-style makeup is better than mine."

"Sister Yuxin..." he called out in a low voice. He was afraid of provoking that person's wrath.
