The Moonlight Archer

Ruby ran out of the castle hastily in search of the girl in the image given to her. The girl is a young cat girl with an appearance like with pink hair and outfit. Like Harith, she has ears that are not human-like rather, they are more similar to a cat's. Nana is one of the Leonis, a race of cats like elves.

Ruby soon stopped at the side of the streets and opened up the documents again. Written on it were her last seen location, Enchanted Forest, her name, Nana, and what she always brought along with her was a grey "Totoro" doll which is named Molina. There aren't much clues on it but Ruby had to rely on the information she has now.

First, she decided to head towards the Enchanted Forest and ask about if anyone knew where she went. The Enchanted Forest were home to the Moon Elves, the Leonis, the Gremlins and much more. Everyone there were fond of magic.

Ruby went in there with utmost caution. Despite bring brought up in a village surrounded by a forest, she dislike being in forests. She was afraid that wolves might pound on her once again. Nevertheless, she mustered up all her courage and walked in deeper and deeper.

The forest was lit up by many magical beings. There isn't any source of electricity. Everything was done by magic. The surrounding was beautiful. Ruby looked around the forest for people or maybe any creatures she could ask. As she walked, she gripped onto her scythe tighter and tighter. She was worried that someone might treat her as an enemy and fire at her.

Thud. Thud. Thud. Thud.

Her footsteps were significantly loud in the quiet forest around her. Soon, she heard a voice from behind.

"You don't seem to be from this Forest. May I know the purpose of your presence?" questioned the voice.

Ruby was shocked by the voice and due to that, flung her scythe from the front to the back in a horizontal motion. The owner of the voice leaped back, successfully dodging her attack. "W-Who's there?!" said Ruby, stuttering with her words. As she looked carefully, she noticed a woman of a slender figure. The woman wore blue clothing and gripped a bow in her hand. She had long white hair tied up in a ponytail.

"The name is Miya also known as the Moonlight Archer. Im a Moon Elf. Though this is not my home either, I am not exactly unfamiliar here," said Miya, walking towards Ruby. "H-Hi, I-I am here to search for a cat-girl called Nana. Do you know her or perhaps seen her anywhere?" replied Ruby. Miya stood at her place and thought for a while.

"Perhaps I do, perhaps I don't. Why don't you have a duel with me to find out?" questioned Miya with a smile. Ruby looked at her and realised that if she doesn't do so, she wouldn't be able to get any information out of her so she accepted the duel request.

"Good! The rules are simple, If you manage to hit me.. You win and if I manage to hit you thrice, I win," said Miya. "You are allowed to use any weapons and equipments" she continued.

Ruby held onto her scythe and nodded her head. Both of them jumped a little backwards to prepare for the battle. Miya held up a piece of leaf and mentioned that the duel will start as soon as the leaf reached the ground. She blew the leaf gently and both of them waited patiently.

Within matter of seconds, the leaf reached the ground. Ruby pulled her scythe out to attack but out of a sudden, she felt an arrow hit her. "That's a one!" mentioned Miya. Ruby was stunned for a second. "Wait.. I forgot that you use long ranged weapons! That's unfair!" exclaimed Ruby.

"All is fair in love and war, I did say that you could use any weapons right? You are welcome to use a long range weapon as well. That is the case if you have one." said Miya as she laughed a little. Ruby was angered a little by her manner of speech and said "It's fine, bring it on!"

With that being said, Miya began shooting rapidly towards her. Ruby looked at the arrows flying towards her with attentiveness and used her scythe to block off the arrows while running towards Miya. She leaped above her and slashed her scythe downwards.

Thinking that it hit her, She landed on the ground to see that she was gone. Ruby was confused. She looked around in search for her. Miya was there for a second and she was gone the next. All of a sudden, another arrow struck Ruby.

YGHMiya was standing behind her. This shocked Ruby, making her more attentive to the situation in front of her. "This is the second and now one to go. Are you sure that you are trying?" mocked Miya. This burned the fire in Ruby even more. Nevertheless, she stayed calm and focused.

As Ruby ran towards her, Miya was gone again. This time, Ruby closed her eyes and tried listened to her footsteps. The rustle of the leaves on the ground, the light wind that blew about. She tried to use those to determine her location. She felt an arrow coming towards her.

"Be Good!" shouted Ruby as she slashed forward and dashed into another position with a twist, dodging the incoming arrow. She heard the rustle of leaves from her right and flung her scythe towards that direction. "Now! Im Offended!" said Ruby as did so.

Miya appeared at the location of her Scythe and shot an arrow towards the Scythe to push it away. "Great one! I'll put this as your win then," said Miya. Ruby looked at her a let out a small smile, happy at her win. "As much as I knew, Nana should be around at the Moon Temple. It is not far from here either," she continued.

Ruby thanked her and ran off towards the exit of the Enchanted Forest. Miya stood at her place and looked at Ruby's enthusiastic spirit. She smiled a little as it reminded of her younger self. In a few seconds, she vanished within thin air.
