When LOVE Lasts

"KIARA! NIKOLAI! ARTEM! GET HERE RIGHT THIS INSTANT!"

The whole building shook violently as the manager called out for the intern Kiara. Everyone in the office stopped and left their work completely, just so they could see how badly Kiara was going to be scolded today. It had become a routine ever since Kiara, 22 years old, a business college student had started her internship at a well-known company named "Beedleland". The company she worked for was one of the leading garments companies and had multiple branches all over the country. But the company wasn't stopping here it had some ongoing projects of opening their branches internationally.

Though she was a top student and a bright and enthusiastic youth she got the job but now things were not looking very well.

But all this information was useless because it won't be able to cover up for Kiara, whose clanking of heels was heard through the corridor as she ran towards her cabin hiding her face from the manager. But the persistent manager had tracked her and was following her closely.

"Stop right there!" The chubby manager ran behind her,

Kiara who was holding freshly photocopied papers was having a hard time running away, And there she saw it, A door where she could hide. Just when she reached out to the storage room door handle the door burst open and the door hit her in the nose and a painful scream escaped her lips.

"I am so sorry!! Are you alright?" A guy with round glasses let go of the files he was holding and grabbed onto Kiara. His eyes were wide open while cold sweat appeared on his forehead. And before Kiara could reply the manager caught up on her.

"Kiara! YOu Are f…" But when his eyes landed on her face he froze. "What Happened to her?!" He hurriedly pulled a handkerchief out of his pocket and pressed it against her bleeding nose. Kiara's big brown eyes had tears in them because of the pain she was in. And her finger trembled because of the fright.

"I...I am sorry Manager! Please don't fire me! I accidentally sent the wrong file to the President. It's just that I was so tired of the overtime that I wasn't in the right state of mind. Please let me off the hook just once!!' Kiara's whining continued while paying little to no attention to her injury, The red face and the tearful eyes melted the manager's heart to some extent and he gave her a slight nod.

"Go take her to the hospital and see if it's a serious injury or not...And it's your lucky day that the President wasn't in the office or he would have skinned all of us alive after reading that crap you had sent him, this is the last time I am letting you off! If you cause another problem I will sue you for sure!" His warning was scary and made Kiara shudder, it almost made her forget the pain in her nose.

Just when the manager was out of sight she collapsed on the floor. Her straight short hair fell on her fragile shoulders while she breathed out a sigh of relief. The guy who had hit her in the face sat beside her and peeked at her with guilt.

"Let me take you to the hospital."

"No need for that, I can go on my own." She gave him a slight smile.

'My poor nose!! I think it's broken,' Kiara chanted inwardly. She pressed the handkerchief against her nose and made her way back to her cabin. At her arrival everyone got excited but when they saw her bleeding nose most of them looked at her with sympathy.

Kiara silently walked towards her station and picked up her bag and her coat and prepared herself to leave. There was a slight vibration in her pocket.

'Chelsi? Why is she calling now?' She thought as she made her way towards the exit. "What's up?" She said.

" Kiara!! My Love! My LIfe! I am so heartbroken!! I want you to come and accompany me, I am so lonely." Kiara Closed her eyes with a sigh. "Why? DId YOu break up with your 13th boyfriend this month?"

" How did you know that?" Chelsi asked with surprise.

"Are you asking me that because you don't know? It's you who calls me every two days with the same tone and tell me that you are lonely and then you have another man the next day...Get a grip on yourself at this rate there will be no man left for you to date." Kiara Spoke tiredly.

"Giggle! That must be nice! Then I will date you and we will live happily ever after."

"Sigh! Pick me up at the bus stop."

"No need for that, I am already outside your office building."

Kiara ended the call and pushed open the door Where saw a red Porsche parked at the roadside. A head popped out of one side of the car and a girl with pale white skin and auburn hair. She cheerfully waved at Kiara.

As Kiara drew closer Chelsi's face crumpled, she saw Kiara holding a handkerchief red with blood.

"Kiara!! What happened?! Why do you have a bleeding nose?" Chelsi ran over to her side and grabbed her held her hand with caution.

"It's nothing, I just bumped into a door a while ago," Kiara brushed off her concern. "LEt's have dinner, I am dying of hunger." She changed the topic.

"Yeah! But are you sure you don't want to go to the hospital?" Chelsi poked her nose while speaking to which Kiara nodded. "I am alright, I am just hungry so let's just eat for now."

"Great! Because I have so much to tell you!!" Chelsi whined.

Chelsi was the daughter of a well-known business tycoon, She was a spoiled heiress who was known for being a flirt in the business world. She would change her boyfriend every other day and end up crying in front of Kiara for it. She had a brother named Robin, He was a workaholic but he loved his sister dearly and would go to any extent to cheer her up. Her life was easy as she had no work to do, But Kiara on the other hand had huge responsibilities. Nobody knew how these girls became besties but they somehow did and had been detachable ever since. Both of them would meet up every two days and pour out their heart to each other while drinking themselves to sleep. Today was the same. At a roadside stall, both of them sat with beer bottles rolling by their feet. The table they ate over was a mess and they talked in high-pitched voices trying to lessen their grief.

"Do you know how hard it is for me after the breakup? I feel sad and…(Gulp)" Chelsi stopped in the middle of her sentence and gulped down the beer in her hand. Her eyelids were drooping and she was barely able to sit still. "Ahm...So where was I?" She continued.

"YOu think that is difficult? Try living in my shoe! I work day and night yet I still am not good enough...I am tired! YOu see It hurts here," She banged her chest with the hand that she was holding the beer bottle. "That Suli! She gave me the wrong file and even took away my hard work just because she was a full-time employee and I had to suffer from all the embarrassment!" Kiara cried out.

"Can you keep it down?! We are trying to eat!" A middle-aged man glared at them, Kiara made eye contact with him and saw how displeased he was. She rolled her tongue around in her mouth to take out all the stuck food from within her teeth and then spoke to Chelsi.

"I think we should get going!"

"Huh?" She looked around with an empty gaze. "Why? Can't we stay here forever?"

"No! Your brother will be here soon and I should be leaving because I work to do! OR I will get fired for sure this time." Kiara
