CHAPTER ONE

"Good morning, sir!" Laura greeted her boss at work.

"Hey! Morning to you!" The boss replied.

Laura worked alongside many others in a large company owned by Peter. She had actually been the best since she was employed.

"But, I don't really know what's wrong these days… Sam doesn't take my calls anymore." She said to herself, coughing a little underneath her desk, while in office.

"Maybe he's been busy? Can you tell?" One of her colleagues seated near her suggested.

"Simon, I don't think so. At least, once a time, he could be less busy to say hello, even if I am not the one to start a call." Laura returned, trying to reject the reactions Simon gave about her boyfriend's case.

"You have to focus on your job now, and leave that bullshit alone!" Simon exclaimed at her bluntly, looking at the other side as he walked away.

"What kind of demon possesses this boy called Simon?!" Laura thoughtfully retorted, not knowing Simon was still at her back, listening to her.

Simon was the next in rank to Sam, who had been Laura's boyfriend for years, so he could exercise some measures over the subordinates who also were colleagues, in the sense that they worked together for a purpose.

Ever since Simon was applauded and approved by Sam, Laura had kept an eye on both of them, never wanting to lose herself to Simon instead of Sam, her lover.

Laura came back to herself; she had been in her thoughts for a while.

"Huh, you said?" Simon suddenly asked her, folding his nose to show disdain.

"I didn't say anything…" Laura lied.

"She was only talking about how one of our bosses got promoted to our branch…That he hasn't been given a particular date to travel there was what Laura is trying to bring out…" Helena, Laura's best colleague commented.

"Helena, will you join her in lying against herself? Do you know what that means?" Simon questioned Helena angrily.

"Laura, over to you!" Helena stated, as she walked up to the CEO's office.

"Always rude, wretched bitch…" Simon remarked a bit noisily. He turned his face back to Laura and noticed a change in her posture.

"Huh…" Laura sighed for stress, and placed her hairy head on her table.

"Rest! Rest properly seated. Don't reveal any of your private sides because of the stupid fellow you're pursuing!" Simon blabbered scornfully and stalked to the toilet to ease himself.

"He's even the one to rest, easing himself from the liquid waste! Ew!" Laura stated disgustingly to the departing gentleman, as she ogled him all through.

"I might need to involve my best friend in this… oh, no, I will not," Laura soliloquized sadly.

As she blinked her watery eyes, she raised her head, only to see her boss standing right in front of her.

Peter greeted her calmly, "Hello dear, how are you doing here?"

"Oh sir!" Laura returned her greeting to her boss, thinking he would give her something, whether it was money, or an idea.

"What of the records I asked for, two days ago?" Peter asked her.

"Oh! They are all here…the files are all ready!" Laura replied happily and responsibly.

"Aww!" Peter blushed funnily.

"Yes, I am always available and ready for organization and efficiency regarding my job, sir…" Laura pledged happily.

"You're beautiful…" Peter remarked, staring at her long curly hair.

"Aww… sir? Thank you, sir…" Laura responded with a childish blabber; then she shaped a smile on her face.

"You are welcome… where are they?," Peter asked her "can I have those files now?"

"Sure, sir!" Laura replied, arranging the documents and piling them up. Knowing she should give her boss the files in his Office, she stood up and headed there.

"Let me follow you, lead me to the Office… hahaha…" Peter said playfully and jokingly.

"Maybe I should have waited behind, sir. But, I want to discuss something with you too," Laura added "and it is very important, sir.
