CHAPTER SEVEN
Alexandra decided to visit Kate on a Saturday morning
"An-yeong" (meaning hello). Alexandra said out loud as she knocked on the door
"Alex" Kate said as she opened the door grinning widely at her sister, Alexandra hugged her tightly
"How is my little sister doing?" Kate said patting Alex back soflty. Alexandra could see Jake coming out of the bedroom smiling
"He...."
"OMG.... Its our beautiful Alexandra" Jake said interruptedly as he walk towards Alex
"Hello Jake, its been a long time" Alex said. She looked at Kate beside her "and that's why I'm staying the night here...YAY!!!" Alexandra said smiling but they didnt seem too happy.
"What?" Alexandra said confused
Kate sighed "we plan on going on a vacation today Alex and I didnt know you would be coming" she replied sadly
Alexandra made a puppy face "but you could stay here and enjoy yourself, its your home too" Kate added smiling to Alex who didnt return the smile
"But I came to see you and stay with you, not staying here alone all by myself" Alexandra replied sadly
"Aww Alex, I promise we will be back before you know it and then we will all go out to eat local korean food" Jake said smiling as he entered the room to bring out the bags he had packed.
"So where are you both going for vacation?" Alexandra asked eagerly
"JEJU ISLAND" Kate replied
"JEJU ISLAND? Are you serious? I love that place" Alexandra said and could see Jake coming out of the room with the bags.
"Don't worry Alex, we will go together some other time okay? I just really want to spend time with Kate, she has been busy with her job and this weekend I need her all to myself" Jake said
"Yes I bet" Alex said as she helped them with their bags, they headed to the car
"Kate, since you are taking Jake's car, let me use yours till you are back" Alexandra said grinning.
Kate who put the last bag in the car smiled as she walked towards Alex.
"ALEXANDRA JOHNSON! You know you are a very bad driver and remember the last time you drive? Mom told me it was a total mess and you almost killed a young innocent man" Kate said laughing out
"But....but"
"Buutttttttt? Alexandra i don't want you in trouble or injured so no BUT sweetheart" Kate said as she kissed Alex on the cheeks.
"You have turned me down twice today, not fair" Alexandra said, she could hear Jake starting the car.
"I will make it up to you okay? You got cash to return back right?" Kate said hugging her sister
"Yes, now go ahead and make sure to call me when you get to Jeju island okay?" Alexandra replied as she waved her sister and her boyfriend bye
She stood there as Jake drove away, she could still see Kate waving to her till she can't see the car no more
"Wow" Alexandra said smiling as she grabbed the hand of her backpack
"They make love seems so fun, I wish I get lucky in finding the right one just like Kate did" Alexandra said to herself.
"neo jasin-ege malhaneungeoya?"(Meaning- are you talking to yourself?)
"Oh my!" Alexandra said shockingly, she could see the little boy she saw on her first night in korea looking up at her
"It's you!" Alexandra smiled down at him "you scared me....hiii!" Alexandra said waving at the boy "where is your dad? Can't see him around" Alex said looking around
"geuneun an-e issgo eommawa dasi maldatum" (he is inside and he is arguing with mom again) The boy said pointing to his house
"I can't understand you sweetheart, I am not yet good in speaking Korean" Alexandra said as she bent down in front of him
"Can you try explaining better, what's wrong?" Alex said "he seems to understand English but can't speak it"
"abeoji! (Father) eomma! (mom)" he said still pointing to his house, suddenly Alexandra heard a loud noise coming from his house
"What's going on?" She stood up as she pulled the boy with her, they both walked towards his house, she could see his dad and a middle aged woman arguing in the house, she couldn't understand what they was saying.
She looked at the boy beside her pitifully, she bent and smiled at him "you want ice cream?" She said as she pulled him with her to get ice cream, they got back and sit on a rock near his house
"You know, you are a smart one and I see you as my lil brother i never had. I always wanted a brother" Alexandra said eating her ice cream, she smiled and didn't notice he was staring at her
"How old are you?" She asked the boy who continue eating his ice cream
"8" he said with a mouthful of ice cream "aww! You can say that? Cute" she said patting his head
"I'm going to teach you how to speak English...anytime I'm free in school but that will be during the weekend only if your dad allow, huh? Alexandra said
"O.....okay" the boy replied smiling, Alex laughed "yes okay" she replied happily. There was a total silence between them, Alex could still hear the argument going on...she looked at the boy and felt sad
"He is too young to be going through this, this reminds me of dad and mom before their divorced" Alexandra thought
"Soooo what's your name? I'm Alexandra" she said as she keep eating her ice cream
"Name? Ooh name...Dong.....min ( meaning - east and cleverness)
"Cute! Just like you" she added as they both smiled
Alexandra could hear Dong-min's dad calling out for him, Dong-min stood up as he bend his head at Alexandra, he smiled and ran to meet his dad. Alex stood up as she waved at him. She noticed the man walking towards her
"Hello again missy, you are Kate's sister right?" He asked holding Dong-min's hand. "Yes hello sir, was just having fun with Dong-min here" Alexandra said smiling at Dong-min who smiled in return.
"I can see that, he likes you already, he doesn't really talk to people that much, he is a shy kid but I'm glad he is relating well with you" he added with smile on his face
Alexandra was invited to eat lunch as she agreed, she could see Dong-min's mom leaving angrily before she entered.
She told Dong-min dad about the English tutorial she will be giving Dong-min on her free days.
"Aww! That's so sweet of you and how much do you want for that?" He had said happily "you both will get along well"
"Nothing, I want to...I dont need money for helping such a sweet boy like Dong-min" she has replied
Alexandra left around 6:30pm in the evening, she really enjoyed her day with Dong-min and his dad, she took a bus down to the junction where she is going to take the last bus to school.
"I'm starting to enjoy Korea,they are actually so cool here" Alexandra said smiling to herself as she got down at the bus station, she sat down waiting on the next bus.
She noticed someone coming out of a bar not far from her, she recognized him at once "is that?" She stood up "HA JOON?" She said surprisingly
Ha Joon was staggering as he got to the bus station, it was obvious he didn't see Alexandra
"He is drunk? Oh my!" Alexandra said looking at him. The bus got there as they all entered, Alex sat down, she looked back at him
"What could have make him drink so much? Are they bullying him again?....No....no he is too cute to be bullied" she said as she looked back at Ha Joon and could see him pushing a guy down, Alex hurried up.
The guy stood up, he started speaking Korean...Alexandra couldn't hear what he was saying but he seems so pissed. Ha Joon pushed him again as he fell to the ground.
"Ha Joon it's okay" Alexandra ran towards Ha Joon as she grabbed him "you are drunk, get hold of yourself please" she said worriedly.
Ha Joon flinged her hand away sharply "who are you? Huh?" He looked closer "do I know you?" Ha Joon added.
Alexandra sighed, she looked at the guy "please I'm sorry"
"Why? Why sorry?, stay out of this...I am gonna show him today" Ha Joon said angrily. Alex stood in front of Ha Joon "stop it Ha Joon"
"Who do you think you are? Huh? I was just sitting and you started hitting me huh! Huh!" The Korea guy said angrily.
They got to their destination as Alexandra pulled Ha Joon out
"Are you okay? You are drunk! Can you walk?" Alex said as she could hear some girls pointing at her as she and Ha Joon came down from the bus
"She is the reason they were fighting in there, I heard the guy saying he want to sniff her pant if he could...." girl 1 said
"ewww...so perverted" girl 2 replied as they came out of the bus and walked away.
"Is that why Ha Joon hit him?" Alexandra thought. She could see Ha Joon walking in the school, she followed him and want to help him whenever he is about to fall but he flinged her hand away several times.
"What?....I just want to help you" Alexandra yelled at Ha Joon angrily.
Ha Joon stopped walking and looked back at Alex who also stopped walking.
"I don't want your help, how can you do that when you are slim like that, just leave me alone girl" he said as he move near her
"Oh I remember you now, you are the girl that saved the fallen bird, the soda girl" he smiled as he patted her head and keep walking.
Alexandra watched him leave, he entered the male domitory still staggering.
"What a weirdo!!! Slim? Ugh! Really?????"
