Bouncing, which is similar to teleportation, is a common practice among modern individuals. However, bouncing only works in an external fashion, with people only being able to bounce others. Rayno, a young mechanic working in the Harrowed Ember, a sort of dark market in reality H470. He seems to be the only one with the unique ability of self bouncing. However, he is unable to bounce anyone other than himself. With this power, Rayno ventures on a crime spree, stealing equipment from various realities. That is, until his shenanigans starts an all out war with the neighboring universes. Thats okay, because Rayno refuses to take part in such issues, or associate himself with either side. It would only be detrimental to others if Rayno was to fight anyway, right? *this is not my image. If this is your image, please say so, and I will remove it*
It isn't uncommon to see people appear out of thin air nowadays. A hot commodity after its sudden outbreak in the late 3rd century. Reaching out in front of you and grabbing the air alters the space between you and another reality, allowing many users to essentially teleport things to themselves. This simple act of conjuring almost any existence is used by many people daily, either as a means of transportation or simply for convenience. Though unclear as to exactly how it occurs, there are two blatant limitations; touch and personnel.
To call upon someone, or something, and bring them into your reality you must have touched them before, specifically their skin. This gives both parties an opportunity to memorize the other's tether, which scientists believe to be the connection between ourselves and our existences. Though this is an act unconsciously done by most.
With this comes the second issue. It is impossible to bounce one's self, no matter how hard you try. It's speculated that only one tether can exist within a single universe, which can contain a multitude of different realities. Tethers build realities while realities build universes, twisting a tether would only disrupt the flow of the entire universe. Possibly creating the parent to all catastrophic events in the whole galaxy.
In all, this activity is referred to as bouncing, for reasons which are yet to be revealed to the ordinary person. For safety measures, a select few have permission from the government to hold such information. Including yourself, this includes the following individuals, President Rains of Termish, Jeorge Van…
Silence
This was the second time the radio had broken that week. Many things could cause it to haywire like this but this time was seemingly unprovoked. It was strange, however, how it played the audio so clearly. Normally the static overbears the sound but this time, this time it had…
"How bothersome," Rayno sighed, taking off his oil-covered gloves and goggles. He set them down on a makeshift paint stool. He fiddled with the radio, hearing it switch channels through the static voices and songs.
Today Rayno was working on his client's RomCycle, the newest edition hoverbike on the market made by the company RomoFits. It only took him three trips to different auto shops to steal it completely, as stealing it in one piece would be too obvious. It was only now that he was missing a clutch lever, which he carelessly dropped and lost in Lake Pear on the way back home.
"There we go, good as new." The radio played soft jazz as Rayno stepped away from it, only to switch to the news soon after. He returned to his station, walking beside the RomCycle to his computer. Plugging in a few details, a block of information appeared on his screen, dowsing the room in a bright green light.
The information detailed the location of the nearest located lever, which happened to be close by. Rayno quickly memorized the location and ran to the corner of his workshop where he laid his jacket. Throwing it on, he recited the words in his head, making sure they stayed constant in his mind.
At last, it was time to leave. Rayno tucked his hands into the collar of his jacket, holding it fiercely with both hands. Now prepared, he threw his head forward, as if trying to hit the floor, still holding onto his collar. His front body fell forward, only to be met with a quick opposing force, bouncing him back into an upright position. Rayno had bounced himself into reality A332, in universe 493.
