When I last took a shower

Amaka Zirachi Azuka "Your aunt just passed away", mummy said. I didn't feel anything. Not because I was in such a profound state of numbness or shock but simply because I did not know what to feel. I was sorry she was dead, I guess. But that was as much emotion I could muster for the situation. I didn't even know which aunt they were talking about and even if I did I still would not know who she was. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Amaka has lived far from Nigeria for the most part of her life and her lack of connection to her home has never bothered her or at least she didn't let it. After a late night chat with her rich friend from Italy, she begins to have nightmares about going back to Nigeria and being shunned. She grapples with her identity and the location of her 'home'.
