3 Chapter 3: Lovers of Goodness

Tirzah is currently reviewing the papers on her desk. After her prayer that night she ended up waking in a small village. Her surprising event did not stop there. She walked around the town and asked if who would she be and all the people was addressing her as the Villager's Captain. Trizah slapped her forehead she remembered being a gang leader not a political one and on top of that she is managing a community.

Her office was made of bricks and marble. It was located in the midst of the village. Her vice captain is said to be the man named Jogli Ivem. He is reliable in a sense. He is like her father. Jogli is married to a woman who is also the village's secretary and her name is Mahli.

Tirzah was wondering why is the village addressed as Ligament. The town people said that it was the village that had helped a lot of foreign people.

And that was out of her character, as far as she knew she even wrecked her own home. And a month later the Village's new priest arrived.

The people requested a dance and singing welcoming party which hyped Tirzah but their meaning of singing and dancing was a bonefire with noisy and loud instruments. The village have no cigarettes nor alcohol. They only served wines made by the villagers itself.

This is far from what she imagined when she prayed that night. She actually wanted to surrender herself to the cop and pay for her crimes but God had his way of making her pay for her crimes. It is the very thing she hated and that is to serve other people. Being a community captain means you have to met the people's needs. You have to give them a crappy smile even if you are faking it.

In the middle of the bonfire dancing. A man with blue eyes and wavy brown hair approached Tirzah. He asked her for a dance out of the blue and that made the people started cheering. As a good captain she acknowledge the hand extended to her.

They waltz beside the bonfire and under the moonlight.

Tirzah's long black hair sway as they twirl. Her white blouse and floral skirt prepared by Mahli suited her white wedge. Tirzah glance up at the man in front of her. His brown long sleeve and black pants suit his pale skin. His blue eyes reflect her form. If she remember correctly this man is the new Pastor what was his name again. She read it somewhere this morning. When she recalled his name she accidentally called his name loudly.

"Elim Quil."

Tirzah realised what she just did. She tried to untangle her fingers from his but the man tightly enlaced them. Tirzah tried to push his chest because of embarrassment but he secured his hand unto her waist. He leaned down and his breath caress her ears.

"Yes, Future Wife?"

Tirzah felt a jolt run down her spine. Her eyes widened and directly look at the man in front of her.

This man looks familiar. Tirzah can't remember where did she met him. His scent even gave her a sense of deja vu. The last song ended and the man willingly release her.

"Since you kneww my name what is yours?" Elim inquired with a facade of gentle smile but deep within he is eager to hear her voice and say her name.

"Tirzah, this the first time I ever encountered a pastor like you."

Tirzah emphasised as she walk away from Elim. Elim just winked at her and bid good night.

Jogli and Mahli are currently handing out some papers to sign up. The whole village are going to conduct a tree planting by the hill that got caught in a fire. Tirzah can't help but symphatise for the wild life that got caught by the flame. The villagers are worried about it and passed a petition paper toward Tirzah which she sealed with her signature and had the higher ups approved.

This is the first time Tirzah committed a decision thinking for the welfare of other people.

"Each people should plant three. So we need to cluster it up by household. Mahli will be getting the number of people inside your house." Tirzah announced.

After her announcement she caught a glimpse of Elim who is walking toward her. Their eyes made a lengthy contact and Tirzah just averted her's. This man is making fun of her for sure. Elim made his way beside Tirzah and said

"Since I have been requested to lead everyone for prayer. Let us bow our head and pray before we start our activities." Elim proclaimed as he smiled warmly.

"Our God who have watched this people for many years, I humbly uplift to you our act of service and this tree planting activity. Let it be that what has been losed will be clothed by new one. Keep us away from any danger and help us to move forward with one goal and mind. Amen."

The people dispersed and started their trail on the way to the burnt hill. Tirzah blinked the tears forming from the end of her eyes. She cannot explain why but this man's prayer reminded her of her father. The father she rebeled from. The father she dissapointed and dismayed. And the same father who loved to do the best and worthy things for her. She wiped her tear mixed with her sweat from treaking. She hid her face under her hat. She look at the backs of people marching upward and felt a fiery passion within her. She needed to grow up to keep witnessing this people marching upward.

Elim joined the three planting conducted by Tirzah. When he heared her voice from a distance he immediately recalled how her name and voice roll a gush of warmth inside him. After the prayer he a caught glimpse her tears threathining to fall. He can't help but thank God that the short prayer had touched a soul.
