10 Chapter 10: That I have Loved You

Tirzah pondered at the offer given by Vopshi. Thinking logically, marrying him would save her from any leisure and that would make her the Mistress of the whole Capital. Financially Vosphi is wealthy enough and she can just signed some papers all day it will help her relax.

Contrary, she will be leaving the Ligament village. She won't be able to watch the sun highlights the whole village with Eshcol. She won't need to have Mahli scold her and she won't be able to bargain with the Pastor for a cup of coffee.

After the thought Tirzah looked out of the window. Elim Quil is currently pulling the weeds at the back side of his building across her. When Elim caught her watching, he raised his hands and waved as he smile from ear to ear.

Tirzah just looked at him for a while. He is glowing. Tirzah rubbed her eyes and he just kept glowing. From her window as she sat on the office watching the Pastor. Mahli had a flash light hit on the mirror and it directly got flashed in Tirzah's face. Mahli can't help but giggle. When Tirzah look back at her she hid the flashlight.

"Chief why do you keep rubbing your eyes as you watch Elim?" Mahli sounded concern and put on some act.

"Ah, I felt like my eyes were absorbing so much light." Tirzah said as she looked up at Mahli's face without any light shinning on her.

"Chief, Did you know, that if you perceive someone and that person is the only one glowing, that means you like that person." Mahli informed as she smirked.

"Stop talking rubbish, early in the morning Mahli." Tirzah said in disbelief.

Mahli nod at her and challenge her.

"Then why don't you try again, Chief?"

Tirzah snorted at her. Tirzah ignored her suggestion and gather a pile of paper.

"Extend your hand Mahli, It's time for punishment!" Tirzah roared like a mad witch who successfully invented a new potion and spell. Mahli just grunted at the pile of papers Tirzah signed. She needs to deliver it to the Mayor.

Jogli appeared at her door and chuckled

"Stop, being hard on my wife Chief."

Tirzah raised an eye brow at Jogli.

"Aren't you spoiling her for taking her side?"

Jogli shrugged at Tirzah.

"Don't include my wife to your bitterness Chief."

Tirzah had her viens popped up. The ends of her mouth is twitching from irritation.

"My pheriperal vision caught her reflection on the mirror, lover boy!"

Jogli cracked up and laughed. Tirzah balled some papers and threw it at Jogli.

Ever since Elim helped him in his marital issues Jogli has been supporting and reporting to Elim. There are moments Jogli can't help but tease Tirzah's denial reactions or her glare whenever a woman would smile and chat with Elim. Most of the time, he noticed Tirzah stealing glances at Elim from her window and mirror. Jogli just want to have them trap on a room so that they'll come out as a couple but that won't be possible, since their Chief is dense and is unaware of her quirks and feelings.

Yet, what excites Jogli more than anyone is his wife Mahli, who is pulling some pranks and string for the two of them. He would watch her get excited whenever the two are talking. She would squeal whenever Tirzah and Elim are working hard side by side. All in all his wife would make a gesture he had never seen in their two years of marraige.

Jogli honestly thought that he already saw any expressions his wife had made since they are sleeping on the same bed and living under one roof but he was wrong. When Jogli seriously took Elim's word of wisdom, how he look at his wife became clearer. Elim was right! He noticed Mahli's wrong deeds but he never pay attention to her good side.

Jogli just realised that even after work Mahli was the one preparing for dinner. She was the one fixing their bed. She would organised his things without telling him and she would always make sure that before she resigned for the night. She already ironed his clothes for the next day.

Jogli knocked at Tirzah's door and no one was answering, when he opened the door. He saw his dear Chief chatting with Elim. Jogli noticed how Tirzah loved jumping from the window. Jogli stocked the papers on her desk and lean out on the window as he shouted mischievously.

"Chief please stop flirting! you have some works to do. You can just do that after work!"

Jogli's voice echoed all through out and it alerted the whole village to start cheering and catcalling at them. Tirzah zoomed in to her office window and leaped in front of Jogli.

Jogli just plead at Tirzah who had him sit on the papers as she held a stick and she start swinging it all over Jogli's sides. Mahli arrived with a letter from the Mayor. Thankfully, Tirzah spared Jogli for the day.

"What did you do to get punished by her?" Mahli inquired as they walk hand in hand on their way home.

"I just reminded her of her duties." Jogli said as he started to tell her what really happened. Mahli laughed till her eyes started tearing up.

"Thank you for avenging me. But that was funny!" Mahli commented as she unlock their door.

Jogli insisted to cook for dinner as his wife take a shower. It was the first time he initiated to do the cooking. Jogli also fixed their bed and served the meal. When Jogli tried to iron their clothes he ended up burning Mahli's skirt.

Jogli waited for Mahli's scolding but Mahli just taught him the right thing to do. Right, he was not the only one who matured after their consistent counselling with Elim every Saturday morning. Mahli is also more patient. She also started to discipline her mouth. Instead of nagging, she would correct him gently. Jogli can't help but embrace the new side of his wife. Before he would think that marraige was like a prison cell but now he can say that being with his wife feels at home.
