19 CHAPTER 19
ALEXIS POV
Going to this dinner is what I really need in order to get my head straight. Yes it's been two years since I casually went out for any form of socializing but my brother was right and I needed to start living again.
I stopped going out because this city became too small for Andrew and I, most places I dined from were the same places Andrew dined from too because we have the same circle of friends.
The saddest part was that even my family dining places were too suffocated by Isabel because she is my late father's wife. yes you heard it right my boyfriend cheated on me with my young hot step mother right under our roof, Which ultimately led to my father's death, he could not take the pain.
Seeing the two idiots together only brought disgust and flushing memories and I was always forced to be restrained. I couldn't handle or control myself. Lucas drowned his sorrows in women, clubbing and work in order to bury the past.
But tonight I have decided to forget about them. I need my mind refreshed from something and eating me.
We arrive at the restaurant and we are given the usual table, and soon we make orders and chat from topic to topic, this was definitely a good decision but before I could say my thoughts out, Page curses, "shit come on! The night was going well,” I'm surprised and I look at her, I notice that she is looking at the entrance, I look up and I see a group of people being led to a table by the waiter and I do not get her.
But that's when I see him, the very thing that I decided to get rid from my mind tonight, he is dressed in all black and the shirt is kind of doing justice to his abs, and the dark hair, his hair is really dark I wonder if he adds something to it. he has his usual serious face on and I wonder if he even smiles. I take a look at him more than I should............ “Alexis your mouth is open,” Lucas says while trying to close my mouth.
"What is she looking at," he asks Page
"It's the stripper, look... the one in black" Page points at the entrance. Lucas turns his head and looks at the guy, "oooh baby sis, now I get why you are drooling." he says while laughing.
"I quickly snap back to reality and hit is head, “who are you saying is drooling here exactly??”
I soon notice that they are all heading our way and about to pass our table, the insect is not watching where he's going so without thinking I stretch out my leg and he lands hard on his ass. Everyone looks at me shocked and I can not hide the laughter, it's really funny.
The lady he is with says something but I ignore her and ask for forgiveness but he only stares at me. Vincent helps him up and asks me if it was really necessary to trip him. I do not get why everyone is not buying that I did not trip him on purpose.
The guy he is with notices my smile and intervenes, he asks if the insect is okay to which the insect says yes and requests that they all go to their table, I'm actually disappointed I expected him to insult or start up something. They walk away and I remain standing there shocked.
“What's wrong with you Alexis,” Vincent asks
“So you are now dining with the enemies.” I reply
“You are now becoming desperate and it's now embarrassing,” Vincent counters
“You are way out of line,” I remind him
“Hey hey guys, Lukas interrupts us, “Alexis sits down,” I take my seat annoyed. “stop sulking baby sis, we all saw your leg move.”
“Lukas you should be on my side,”
“If you ask the poor man out rather than beating or tripping him any opportunity you get, maybe I will definitely be on your side.”
“Ask who out? Do not tell me you believe that Alexis Rosewell would ask that insect out, he is just a mere cleaner.” I shout out
“A very good looking cleaner,” Page cuts in
“Why don't you date him then Page?” I ask her
“Of course I will go there and ask him out, it's not like I would lose anything,” she replies
“You are not serious Page, he is younger than you.” Everyone now looks at me like have said something incriminating
"Wow baby sis, is that jealous I sense? But you definitely landed a catch, I can probably get why you mistook him for a hot stripper, Lucus says why looking over to the insect's table, “Alexis look...... he is looking here should I wave at my future brother in-law,” both page and Vincent erupt into laughter.
“I clearly stated that he should not be the topic of discussion here, I'm starting to think coming here was a wrong decision and if you ever call him brother in-law again, I will definitely knock off your teeth. ”
“Guys if you excuse me, I'm going to the other table, Vincent says and walks to the other table.
Baby sis the last time we checked you are the one that couldn't control your excitement and tripped the lover boy cleaner,"
"Whatever," I say looking at the other table
"Do you guys think they are talking about us, the insect keeps looking over here??”
"He is definitely checking you out too baby sis,”
“He should know his class, am certainly not his”
Whatever makes you sleep baby sis, but it has been long ever since I saw you smiling that lover boy cleaner is definitely a keeper. I can picture the little Latino cute babies running around our house already.”
Lukas shut up!! what's wrong with you, I yell out while hitting his head. He is so annoying, cute Latino babies???? what the heck"
"Shit Alexis! you are blushing, Page says laughing, “Lukas she definitely blushed while hitting you, did you see that?”
“I saw it,”
"“et's stop before she cries,” Lukas adds
I get so irritated, I look over and I find the entire table looking over here and smiling, this is more irritating now.
We continue eating and suddenly the insect stands up and walks towards our table, my heart starts beating so fast for unknown reason, is he heading to confront me???
But he looks at me coldly and walks by, I feel my heart sink and disappointment shows on my face.
“Next time baby sis, next time,” lukas says, holding my shoulder.
“I'm going to bloody fire his ass tomorrow, who does he think he is?” I accidentally say out loud instead of keeping it in my head.
Both Page and Lukas stare at me speechless
“Have lost my appetite, can we go please,” I request
“But we've not add desert Alexis.”
“You can remain having dessert but I'm going home myself, I will take a cab, you guys can finish off the night.”
I quickly stand up, without giving them time to respond or reverse my decision, am so pissed right now, and I do not know why. Maybe I know but am trying not to know.
I get my phone quickly and dial for a cab but without noticing that am at the door I bump my face hard into a chest and I almost fall but heavy hands grab on me tightly. I look up and it is the insect, What kind of bullshit is this, I think to myself.
“Lady, if you are planning to kill me just hire some thugs already,” he says smiling.
