15 CHAPTER 15
ALEXIS POV
Page walks back into my office with a cup of coffee, "here you go Alexis,”
“I'm not in a mood for coffee Page,” I yell out.
“That little insect just insulted me and you are offering coffee, you should be filing his termination letter right now, go get the HR for me!”
Page looks at me and places the coffee on my desk, "Look here Alexis, this is why I had second thoughts about coming in this morning. Lukas has already filled me in on your new found hobby with wine.”
“So you anticipated me finding that insect in my office,” I replied annoyed.
“You mean the beautiful insect?” Page corrects.
“Get out! don't even start, he is an ugly insect with a foul mouth, you and Vincent just stood there and watched him insult the life out of me.”
“Look at this curvy butt, can you see any scales? Does it look heavy to you? Do I look like a serpent, do I look fat?" I ask with tears in my eyes. I do not know why? But the things that Mexican insect said not only hit my nerves but my heart as well.
Page is lost for words, Alexis is a very attractive young lady who commands any room she enters, every girl wishes they had her smooth firm and elastic tone, her skylight blue eyes, her long fairly blonde hair and her hourGlass figure.
That's why she has a queue of men salivating over her, the only thing that never matched her beauty was her attitude and irritating nature but today she had met her match, someone who was immune to her beauty and said it to her face the way it was.
That's why Page and Vincent simply took the back stage and watched the two of them insult each other, of course Page was busy eyeing the other contender.
"Alexis you never take anything to heart, most workers in this company call you worse names and you never give it your ears."
I look at Page more furious now, “like you said, I just hear it but that ugly insect said it to my bloody face. Where does he even get the nerves to insult the CEO of Glow Cosmetics. I have been asking you to call HR but you seem to be siding with him just like Vincent!” I yell out.
“Because we do not want this company to be subjected to another lawsuit Alexis, According to his explanation he fell over a Vodka cap that you left lying in here and on top of it you had to beat him up with your heels so please forgive us if we are trying to look at this from a bigger picture here.” Page replies with a serious face.
“What does falling over a cap got to do with him waving a shirt in my office while shirtless? Have got friends Page we can have him deported he is just a useless immigrant.”
“Oooh so the only thing you remember is him being shirtless in your office??? Let me remind you that that useless immigrant has got family in the Department of homeland and security and the entire immigration department,” interrupts Vincent.
There was silence for a moment, and Vincent continues "his cousin who happens to be a journalist has a fiance whose family works for DHS.
“Infact before we even deal with these offices his cousin Leisha, a journalist, will turn this company upside down. Believe me when it comes to Cedrian that lady is......... just know that she will come at us with everything.”
“You mean Leisha Garcia is related to Cedrian?” Page asks surprised
“Yes Page, in the past I have always managed to control what she writes about us because we are related and family comes first before business but believe me should this story go out I will not be able to control her,” Vincent warns.
“So you are practically related to that ugly insect?” I spat out with Vernon, “you brought that muchacho in my company to finish me. Why is he not a cleaner with DHS or whatever, why did he have to come and clean in my company??”
Vincent becomes quiet for a moment “you asked me to hire people that were ugly and preferably men to prevent us men in this company from laying our hands on them and I delivered.”
“You call that tempting thing ugly!” I scream out, you did this on purpose Vincent. You did this to get back at me.”
Both Page and Vincent look at each other and smile
“Wait a minute Alexis I thought he was an ugly insect or are you talking about someone else?” Page asks laughing.
“Both of you get out of my office! before I fire you, get out of my office!”
Both Page and Vincent walk out of my office but before leaving Page turns and informs me about the cancelled meeting.
I just wave at her and pick up my phone and dial my brother
[Hello Lukas]
[hey baby sis]
[When you were talking about hiring strippers, did you mean it?]
[Why? Are you reconsidering? I know a guy, just say the word and they will be delivered at your doorstep]
[So you have not sent any stripper to my office]
[No, what do you mean?]
[Are you sure]
[yes Alexis, what's going on?]
I cut the phone and scratch my hair, “Shit!” I yell out. I grab the cup of coffee that has been sitting on my desk and begin drinking it.
I close my eyes and open them and I'm meant with a sight of a shirtless Cedrian waving a vest. “What are you doing back here?” I ask confused.
He just stares at me, I close my eyes again, open them and find there is no one, this freaks me out and I practically run out the office.
I find my secretary at her station and vent it out on her “Hey Dora, you are very useless, why did you allow that insect to clean my office, have told you over and over again that only Jane is allowed to clean my office, what kind of a useless secretary are you???”
“I'm so sorry miss Rosewell, they informed me that Jane was not feeling well, so Cedrian was just filling in for her. I should have asked you??”
“Cedrion Cedrian Cedric whatever his bloody name is?? was not suppose to be in my dumb office! and yes you should have informed me of the change.”
“I'm so sorry ma'am, it will never happen again.”
“Better pray it never happens again,” I yell out, “now which floor is the duty room for the cleaners?”
“Alexis what are you doing??? Page interrupts, “I called Mervin and he is parked outside, let's not do something we will come to regret.”
“I just wanted to...........
“If you really want to fire him you can still fire him tomorrow Alexis, do not make a scene, thanks to someone everyone knows you were on top of a cleaner beating him up and calling him a stripper,” Page adds.
“What??? How do they even know, it must be that insect, we allowed him to stay and now he is spreading false rumours.”
Page looks at Dora and Dora looks away
“There you have the answer,” Page replies after eyeing Dora.
“You are unbelievable you gossiping.............................................
“Come on Alexis let's go, go get your handbag.”
“Dora go and get my handbag,” I instruct her to which she goes running to fetch it. My office is the place I want to be in.
We are finally outside the building and about to start off, then suddenly the insect comes out of the building, without thinking I get out of the car and rush towards him. I stop so close to him, we are standing face to face now and I'm more speechless now, he has a serious face on, which adds cuteness to his already beautiful face, this only entangles my throat and a big lump forms, I am struck numb and can not alter any words. I try to force words out but nothing comes out.
Instead of him saying something foul to trigger me, he is only staring back at me with a straight face, maybe he's got a lump stack on his throat too.
