Things She Did Under His Nose (1)

I was too excited to find my love. See what fate really does! If it's meant for you, it will naturally come back to you. I believe this wasn't just because my grandpa requested Mr. Wang to do him this favor. It is also not a coincidence that Mr. Wang's nephew isn't competent in his management right? These are not all in their wrong places.

That evening after my grandpa's call, I called my buddy driver Wilman and instructed him to go and fish out some information about the WangCargo's newest employees. The office was about 30minute drive from our headquarters. The following day, Wilman reported just before lunch time informing that there weren't any new employees hired yet. 'Was she not supposed to be here two weeks ago?' I wondered but I dismissed Wilman anyway.

Later that evening I drove my private official car and drove towards a residential subdivision in the outskirts of the city. Mr. Wang's house is among those in this area. I parked parallel the roadside and walked towards the security guard's booth. I presented my police ID, asked which house is the Wang's then walked inside the villa stoically. There weren't much buildings around so the houses were far from each other. I stayed behind the house that has its back facing the entrance of Wang's residence. I need to see who is coming in and out of that house while keeping myself unnoticed.

It was already pitch dark at eight pm. With the help of the bright lights outside that house, I saw a small lady putting out what seemed to be a bag of garbage into the large bin outside the gate. She was followed by a tall slender figure wearing black shorts and loose white t-shirt. She held two big bowls on each of her hand and laid it on the ground. Quickly enough, she was patting two large dogs who hurried and hungrily devoured whatever were inside those bowls. I blinked and blinked trying to make sure I wasn't mistaken or dreaming.

I tried to approach as close and as safe as possible not risking to be noticed. There was a waist-high fence around the house so I needed not worry about those dogs anyway. I fished out my cellphone from my pocket and clicked to take a video. I zoomed it as close as possible then started recording her. Oh my! She has grown so beautifully elegant and classy even with those house clothes on. Her hair that was a bit boyish before now grew shoulder length which gives her a youthful and charming vibe accentuated by the elegance of her lazy and random smiles. I kept the camera video on until she entered the house. It was only then that I kept my phone back and went back to my car. Driving back to the headquarters, I couldn't help but play back the scene in my mind. My heart was racing nervously but yet was so full and happy that I finally was able to see my love after a long long time.

I continued to do this every evening. I can't seem to get enough of her. Wilman was also able to discover that she only goes to the office in the afternoon and stays at home in the morning. "She may not still be listed as an official employee since she was just hired to audit and help the manager out. " Wilman said.

There are times during lunch break that I drive and wait not far from the entrance of the company's office where she works. Couple of times, she was with a meduim tall and fair skinned, and tall-nosed guy who dresses loosely. They were all smiles as they walked towards the entrance. For some reason, I felt a pang of jealousy. I was jealous that I never got the chance to get her smile to me like that. Recalling back when we were together, she seemed to be so careful and cautious when she was with me. Seeing her smile all out like that to another man made my heart ache in jealousy and longing.

I kept eye on her for the last two months unable to devise a plan to approach her. I wish I could just appear right in front of her and present myself as 'still single and available'! How would things go if I tried that? I still held on to take it one step at a time.

The third month. I went as usual to my evening stalking. I was planning to disguise as a neighbor who is taking an evening walk around. That way, I could just pretend to pass by and wave hello to her and eventually invite her for a walk.

That evening, I waited for about fifteen minutes before the small chubby lady came out throwing the garbage again. Surprisingly though, the one who fed the dogs was another lady with long hair and a bit more slim than the other one. I waited further hoping she will come out but after pacing back and forth for another ten minutes, the front main door was shut only leaving the lights outside still on. I decided to go back.

The next two evenings were the same. I didn't see my love come out from the house. I went to wait at the front of their office but I did not see her either. 'Where has she gone again?! Did I lost her again?'

With this in mind, I called Wilman to investigate what could have possibly happened.

"I want you to report in two hours where that girl has gone. Do whatever means to find out!" I ordered him.

"Sure boss,.That's easy!" He said.

He must have connived with some employees of the Wang's that makes it easier for him to get his information.

Not 45 minutes gone and he came back with his report.

"Bossing, its their office cleaner that lives near my house. She happens to be my neighbor. Aunty Tina said she might have gone home maybe for a week. There's no indication that she is leaving the office. She still have piles of work on her desk." Wilman informed me to my delight.

"Okay, good job. If you continue like this, I might work for your promotion before I go home and marry her." I said proudly.

"Boss! Im looking forward to that.!" Wilman's salute was more like a kiss-ass.

"Get back to work!" I commanded.

After he disappeared from my sight, I called Dan and intructed him to go and inspect the Resthouse at the North Province.

"That exactly was what I did just today bro."He said.
