His Life Without Her (7)

"Boss, I am happy to inform you that the graduation of your dear one is moved on April 5th. Are you free?" Sunny called while I was reading some investigation reports about those shipping companies.

April is actually a busy month for us due to Easter Celebration and the police force needs standby force to pacify any chaotic incidents.

"I'm not sure. At any rate, just give me update. This month is one of the busiest months for us. " I said.

"Also, my friend said the batch planned to hold a camping at your project campsite boss. How will I spy on her, its dark and cold up there. Do you still want me to stalk her in the dark?" Sunny complained.

"Are you complaining? How about if that cousin of hers will take advantage of her there? I'll cut your dick if that happens!" I threatened him.

"Boss, I'm not trained to be a military like you. I'm scared of the dark!" Sunny wanted to excuse himself.

"Double salary for this month, will you go?" I offered.

He sighed and resolved to agree.

April rolled in and Sunny messaged me every bit of the graduation exercises. I was reading them while at my office.

[Boss, ur woman is scorted by her cowboy dad. They've almost d same smile. Mr. Law seems so serious though.]

[Boss, ur woman is now marching 2 receive her award. She's Magna Cum Laude. She's somewhat n tears?]

[Boss, wat a great surprise! Stanley Law s Suma Cum Laude! Hire him n ur company ryt away!]

[Boss, graduation s over. Ol dispersed. Ur woman s n her b.house now. Am n d store below dem]

I replied to Sunny's message. "Don't forget to follow them at the campsite. You'll serve as her secret body guard as well."

[Yes boss]

The day after their camping, Sunny called to report what happened. He narrated how he saw Stanley and my love sat away from the group and talked seriously. He wanted to get near to eavesdrop but he might get noticed so he just stayed away in the dark. They must be talking about their plans. He saw my love bowed her head in between her knees as Stanley gently patted her back. After long long while, she looked at Stanley and spoke some yet it was inaudible for Sunny hear. Stanley nodded and it was his turn to bow his head down. After the camping, Sunny expected her to go home from there, but to his surprise, she returned with all the rest.

"What do you think they were talking about boss?" Sunny finally asked after he narrated the scene.

"Whatever is in my mind is none of your business! Just do your work! " I said coldly.

Suddenly, I remembered Mr. Laws words. Why did they not atleast write to Dan's office about our agreement. Did he tell everything to his daughter? Did his daughter chose already whom she wants?

Deducing it from Sunny's narration, the two must have found out the planned arrangement for them. Given that my love already gave up on me, she must have agreed to be married to her cousin. After all, they have known each other and she must have developed feelings for him as she stated in her letter.

I was never prepared for this! My whole plan and dream is disappearing like a vapor. I wanted to grab hold of it but its too elusive, I cant even get a touch of it. That night, I honestly cried my heart out. Why can't I be happy? I only have this one wish why is it so hard to get?

The following week, Sunny called informing that my love has gone to volunteer as one of the statesman's campaigners. Since graduation, she.didn't even go home which Sunny found it strange of her. She had been going home on weekends but why after graduation, she didn't even go home to celebrate her graduation with her family. And to think that she will go and spend her time just campaigning for a political candidate? 'It's somewhat suspicious' Sunny said.

"She is indeed a free spirit! Always wanting to try new things! " I just said absent mindedly. "Who knows what her smart mind is thinking. She has brains too. Just continue following her. Wherever she goes! Most specially now that she is out of school, she could do anything and go anywhere" I told Sunny to shut him up from his intruding remarks.

The campaign period starts on the third week of April and lasts until second week of July. The election follows right the following week.

Meanwhile, my brother called to update me about the hiring of a new civil engineer called Stanley Law. According to him, they have already sent a job order to him under Brents' company identity. He was worried that if he used his name, Stanley might reject the offer. Apparently, they're still waiting for his reply or his personal appearance in the company.

This delighted me and asked my brother to approve a much higher salary for him so he would not consider leaving atleast until everything will take it's place as planned.
