"You are stickier than the annoying chewing gum that gets stuck on the sole of the shoe," Nell tells him harshly. "I know the value of promises now. I already promised that I won't leave you."

Eli looks at her with misty eyes. "You aren't lying to me, are you?"

She sighs. "I am not lying. I am alive because of you. I found out the truth because of you. But I have a wish."

A wish? This is the first time she spoke about a wish. Eli narrows his eyes slightly. The look in her eyes… He has seen it before. The woman he loves wants to manipulate him. But he will drink this poison happily. "What is your wish, Nell?"
