1 Deadly Fire:

Lovetta's POV:

Here I was, struggling to see as I walked through the black smoke. My throat was dry, and my eyes watered, making it even harder to navigate where I was going. The flames, engulfing everything around me.

Suddenly, I see a blue light. I can barely walk, as my feet are burning from the near flames. I am practically cooking in the heat, but I push forward, hoping that there is a way out of this.

I wince and whine due to the pain, but I can't give up. I finally reach the light, my vision clearing up as I escape the smoke. Tears stream down my face in celebration; I'm still alive.

I realize now that I was too busy thanking god that I made it, to notice the couple, screaming out. Their backs were turned to me, facing the bridge connecting this villiage to a bright forest full of trees and flowers.

They were lucky enough to make it out of the villiage alive, yet they still don't run. They seem to be arguing, however; I only hear ringing in my ears.

They can't hear me, as I start to call out to them. They run away, trying to escape the deadly fire. They get half way across the bridge when they pause, turning to look at me. But they didn't acknowledge my presence. They looked right through me with facial expressions of fear and panic.

I follow them, only to see that when the woman turns around, she is holding a baby. The baby is crying out in fear as the mother craddles her child with such delicate, and genttle hands. The mother calms the baby with a lullaby, her voice soft like sprinkling rain, and her comfort as cozy as a warm summer day:

"When a tribe falls apart, when the villiage, loses it's heart, there will be a new start, and the lord will call upon us, and guide us through this decay, but we are a family, for never will come that day"

She looks at the man, tears forming in her eyes.

"You know what we have to do" I saw her mouth as she rocked the baby in her arms, a mothers love, so strong. And a mothers bond, that can never be broken.

She sets the baby in a ditch, securing her in a hidden area. The husband holds his wife, as they take their last seconds to stare at their baby girl, a stem that will one day blossom into a beautiful flower.

A dark figure emerges from the fire, nearing closer to the couple.

But this figure is not a person; it is an animal. A viscious animal, ready to attack.

When I realized what it was, my heart immediately sank and my hope was diminished.

"Run! Behind you!" I shout, ignoring the ache in my throat.

They disregard my warning, instead just staring at the creature, unfazed.

Then to my surprise, they start talking to the animal, trying to reason with it.

By the time their pleading ends, the animal is face to face with them. They are scared, staring into the face of danger.

It was close enough for me to make out that this animal was in fact, a wolf.

Suddenly, the wolf pounced on the couple, killing them before they could react. It ripped them apart, limb to limb, until all that was left was the blood stained grass. I felt sick, from the tip of my toes all the way to the roots of my hair, my body went cold.

I felt like I was going to pass out, my head pounding, boom, boom, boom. I get the feeling in my throat; the feeling that I always get when I know I am going to throw up.

I finally couldnt hold it back anymore, and vomited. From the rancid smell of the bodies, from the murder I'd just witnessed, from the taste of smoke and blood that has been lingering in my mouth, but also because the baby girl was still hidden away.

The wolf, with fire in it's eyes, looked over the crime scene once more before turning away and running the opposite direction.

I waited until he was completely gone before revealing myself from behind the tree I used as cover.

I ran over to the ditch, immediately discovering the baby girl, who started crying when I came into sight.

She had nothing but a blanket wrapped tightly around her, and a gold necklace, part of it now black from the fire. She had beautiful green eyes, and a circular face with brown hair. She looked up at me with fear in her eyes.

I reach down and pick her up, shielding her from the world around her. I notice the letter a at the end of her necklace, figuring that the necklace would uncover her name.

I reach for it, trying to make out what it says, but not soon enough.

Abrubtlty, smoke invades the area. The air is is black now with passing gray color.

I drop the baby, hearing her land on the concrete next to me, with an immediate reaction of tears.

I can't breathe due to the toxic fumes I am inhaling. I start choking, coughing as i'm falling to the ground.

I hit the ground, unable to breathe or talk. I look over to see the baby, staring back at me with her green eyes, and suddenly, she dissapears in the smoke.

I scream for her, but this makes me lose oxygen even faster. My vision goes blurry, until eventually, everything goes black. And I see nothing at all.
