32 Chapter 29: A Princes's story, part 3
--Author's note: until this story catches up with the main story I'll be focusing on this one... there will only be one or two more chapters of the other one before they are revealed in the main story.--
Upon arriving at the inn we see a man magically cloaked in shadow striving to rob the innkeeper, without much luck.
"I said give me all your money woman, I'm from the dark kingdom, and you are not, so no one will bat an eye if I kill you!" (Shadow-Man)
"If you had the guts to kill me you already would have, so I won't give you even a single copper." (Innkeeper)
Kip shoots an inquisitive look my way and I simply nod.
"Ma'am, is this man bothering you?" (Kip)
"You should mind your own damn business if you know what's good for you." (Shadow-man)
"Based on what I've overheard I have a better suggestion... why don't you beat it?" (Danica)
Even though he is shrouded in shadow, I can tell he's sizing us up. After doing so for a little, he decides to leave.
"You were lucky today, I don't want to even try to fight a 3 on one... not saying I couldn't win, I just don't want to spend the effort." (Shadow-man)
We wait a couple of minutes to make sure he's gone before continuing the conversation.
"I thank you kindly for the assist... I would have had to wait for another hour for the other clerk to arrive to be able to get him to stop harassing me... sadly this is a regular occurrence," sighing after saying that. (Innkeeper)
"It's no problem, and it's not like we get nothing out of helping you... If we hadn't stepped in then we would have had to wait that hour to ask for a room." (Danica)
"Nonetheless I am still most grateful. So, will it be one room or two?" (Innkeeper)
"Do you have 2 adjoined rooms?" (Kip)
"We do... how many nights will you be staying?" (Innkeeper)
"Just 2, we'll get everything we need to start our journey to the capital tomorrow, then leave the next day." (Kip)
"Understood.... Oops, where are my manners, I'm Suelynn Ny-Leus. What name shall your rooms be under?" (Suelynn)
"I'm Danica and this is my friend Kip, a pleasure to make your acquaintance Sue... is it okay if I call you that?" (Danica)
"Only if I can call you Nika?" (Suelynn)
"Nika? I like that... feel free." Saying that with a beautiful smile on my face (Danica)
We continue with a little small talk until someone else walks in.
"Well, we won't hold you up any longer... but I wonder, will payment be a problem... we have 1 gold coin." (Danica)
"Oh, no problem... I'll put you under a tab that you can pay before you leave... just go next door to our bank and ask them for change... they have a system portal as they are a branch... they will be able to provide you with 9,999 silver and 1,000 bronze coins, of which you can then pay me 4 before you leave, and we'll be good." (Suelynn)
"That or you can get a magic banknote... it will keep track of total value, and then you can trade with anyone with another such banknote, or you can get back your money with it at any time." (Suelynn)
"I prefer to keep my money in my enderite pouch... it feels much safer that way. I'll get that change after we settle in if that's okay with you?" (Danica)
"Sure, no problem, your rooms will be 305&6, Here are your keys." she says while handing me and Kip the keys to the rooms we'll be staying in. (Suelynn)
After that we walk to our rooms, put our stuff down, then meat up and go to the bank.
"Welcome to our bank, how may I assist you today?" (Teller)
"We would like to break this gold coin... we want 1 silver worth of bronze and the rest in silver." (Kip)
"Got it..." (Teller)
They put the gold coin alongside a note into a small device that contains a portal. After a few moments, a space bag is put back through the portal.
"Alright... you have two options; first is for me to give you only the coins, second is for me to include this bag for 10 bronze." (Teller)
"Could you just pour the coins into my enderite pouch?" (Danica)
"Sure thing." (Teller)
After receiving the coins we thank the teller and head out to explore the town.
