Chapter 2

Qiang Feng was frozen. Who would have guessed these kinds of things would happen to him? It was the first down-slope (maybe up-slope) in his life. It was a huge difference from how his life has always been like and he had no idea how to deal with it.  He was out of it until he felt a tongue probing at him. He felt like he was shot and subconsciously pushed Ping Jun away and started wiping his lips. His first kiss was stolen by his best friend?

Qiang Feng never really questioned himself. He just assumed he would get into an average marriage with an average girl. He had to admit, it didn't feel bad or gross but it was just that he only ever saw Ping Jun as a friend and nothing more than that.  Ping Jun washed Qiang Feng's hand that was wiping his own lips and felt a stabbing feeling in his heart. He knew the kiss was uncalled for but he really wanted to know what Qiang Feng tasted like at that moment. It was sweet but the reaction afterwards made him feel bitter.

Qiang feng was the first person to break the tense silence,"Ping Jun... This isn't right. I have only ever seen you as a brother. Nothing more. Nothing less. I'm not necessarily disgusted by it but the feeling just feels wrong to me."

"That's a start! We can always try and go further. Maybe you will discover your feelings for me!" Ping Jun replied hopefully after hearing the neutral Qiang Feng.

"That's not right. I know that I will never feel any romantic attraction to you. It's the truth and you can't deny it. There are so many other people who are wishing for your affection but I'm not one of them. I only hope that our relationship as brothers would always be unwavering. I don't care whether you like men or women or whoever you want but that person should not be me. Next time if you have such a person, I would gladly accept your relationship," Qiang feng solemnly said.

Ping Jun's eyes started to water and his voice was unstable. "I'm God Jun. A perfect man. Why don't you want me and insist to be brothers? I can't accept that. Unlike you, if you have another person in your life, I won't be able to smile and embrace the relationship unless the person beside you is me. The only reason why I even came up to you the first day of school and continued to persist beside you as a friend was because I thought that one day, you would feel the same way about me." As Ping Jun said this, his voice got more and more strained as if he was containing his anger.

"If that's so. Get out. I don't want to be part of your love game. You came up to me with ulterior motives and that, I cannot accept. I don't want to see you any longer. Since you're such a selfish person who won't accept the reality, I no longer want to be associated with you," Qiang feng said nonchalantly.

"No one will ever befriend you. No one will ever love you like I do. No one will know you as well as me and no one will ever get close to you. That is my promise. If I can't get you. No one else can." This was Ping jun's closing statement before he got up from where he was seated at and left Qiang Feng's apartment.

Qiang Feng exhaled deeply. The first time he gets confessed to, it's by his best friend who he has never had any form of romantic feelings towards. "This would probably be the most dramatic event of my life," Qiang Feng said with a snicker. He did feel bad about letting down Ping Jun so harshly but he knew it's better to face it directly rather than leave any forms of false hopes. He assumed that after some time Ping Jun would get over him and they would probably go back to being best friends but little did he know how naive his thinking was.

Now that it was quiet and he had time to himself, Qiang Feng started thinking deeper about what he felt when the incident happened. Now that he thinks of it, he wasn't appalled by the idea of having sex with another man so does this make him gay? Hmm... not really because thinking about sex with a woman wasn't appalling as well. So maybe bisexual? Not wanting to stress himself out by thinking too deeply, Qiang feng decided to stop at that conclusion. Bisexual. Well, if one good thing did come out from the whole incident, it was the fact that he finally has careful thought about his own sexuality that he had never questioned before.

Weeks flew by and there was still no sign of Ping Jun warming up to him again. No one came up to him and suddenly now he was an outcast. Ping Jun really did keep that promise of his. Qiang Feng decided that since he was now a school outcast, there's no point sticking around in class longer than needed so he decided that he would spend his free time in the library to get away from all the stares he had been receiving.

His school library wasn't big but neither was it small. The amount of books were considerable and amount seats were also quite a lot since not too many people came to the library during their free time. Qiang Feng picked out a fantasy book about cultivation and such because it seemed interesting and proceeded to make himself comfortable in the bean bag chairs that were provided by the school. After being engrossed in the book for a good half an hour, he noticed a figure sitting across him. It was a cute black haired girl. She had her hair tied up and glasses were propped up on her nose. She was staring intensely at the book she was reading. Suddenly, she glanced up and made eye contact with Qiang Feng.

She definitely was pretty. That was the first thought that came to him. She grinned slightly and returned to her book. Since then, he had always made it a point to try and find the girl whenever he was in the library. Even though he would not admit it, Qiang Feng felt somewhat excited and giddy whenever he saw that girl. As the week progressed, he finally decided to come up to that girl and introduce himself and hope that this girl would do the same.

Taking a deep breath, he walked up to the nameless girl and softly introduced himself," Hi! My name is Qiang Feng. I've seen you around a lot in the library so I was wondering if I could well.. make friends with you?" Qiang Feng scratched his neck awkwardly after saying those words.

"Hello! My name is Shui Xian. It's nice to meet you," the now not nameless girl said with a small grin and a light blush.

After this point of introduction, they really did hit it off. (I'm sorry I'm too lazy to think up of fun topics to talk about lmao) Rather than reading books, the two started spending time in the library, getting to know one another. It was definitely the most blissful times Qiang Feng has ever had in his school life so far.

Slowly but surely, the two were getting closer. However, someone saw these scenes and immediately went to report it to Ping Jun. His usually perfect face distorted in anger. How in the world did this happen?

Qiang Feng is only his.
