1 Chapter 1: An Ordinary Life

'Another successful delivery' Matthew thought with a skip in his step.

It is a peaceful yet fulfilling day in the town of Poque. Matthew is 12 years old and he's the son of the blacksmith he just wants to live out a nice peaceful and ordinary life. He is a simple-minded boy who wants to take over his fathers shop, marry a women and start a family. He has average looks, but the thing that makes him most noticeable is he's incredible body from helping his father forging weapons and then having to carry them all over the town. Even though Poque was one of the smallest towns in the Slayfort kingdom, he still travelled a lot of miles each day.

As soon as he stepped into his home Matthew could smell the unique aroma."Oh yes it must be fathers pot roast" Matthew exclaimed with a giant smile on his face like he had not one care in the world.

"Son did you make the deliveries?" Michael spoke in a firm yet nurturing voice. He is a tall brooding man with a stern look on his face, while holding a wooden spoon and wearing a pure white apron.

"Yes father another successful delivery." Matthew then gave the money to his father, Micheal then placed it into his pocket.

"Good boy now go and sit at the table, because this is now finished." Micheal then went on to stir the roast one last time before pouring it into separate wooden bowls. Ever since Matthews mother left right after his birth the tasks had fallen to Micheal, he had to play both the Father and Mother because both Micheal and Matthew only had each other.

The kitchen is small but the dining room is smaller, it was a bland room with nothing in accept a wooden table that looked like it had been mended multiple times, also 2 uncomfortable wooden chairs that looked like they would break at any moment.

"RRAWWW" a soul crushing cry was heard just entering the town and not too long after huge explosions and screams were echoing throughout the town of Poque.

"OMG OMG.....OMG!!" Tears falling down his face Matthew cried whilst holding himself in the corner of the room. Micheal then dashed into the same room and saw his son in despair not one second later his was already holding him trying to reassure Matthew that everything will be ok, but he couldn't because he has never been in a near death situation before. If there was ever a problem the hunters would deal with it, but even Micheal with his limited experience new they wouldn't stand a chance, because what they were facing was a fully grown fire dragon.
