1 Prologue

I need you to think about the multiverse theory for a second. The theory about the endless number of universes. Let's go with something like this and say that we live on earth one. On this earth everything is normal, everything is the way we know it to be. Let's say you work as an engineer and that you have a few siblings. But on earth two, you may be the owner of a business and have no siblings. Little things change from earth to earth, and sometimes the only thing that's different is what you had for breakfast that morning.

Now let's think of our favorite superhero in red, shall we? On every earth, in every universe, he is a good person superhero or not. On earth one, he's a hero, a superhero. One without powers, yes, but he is still keen on helping people and it doesn't matter if he wants to wear some goofy outfit. But, we aren't in that universe anymore. This one is quite different. This one isn't the same. What could be wrong?

Jack was just a regular person like you and me. Except he was slightly different. He had powers. He had the ability to fly, he could run and fly at the speed of light if he desired. Unfortunately, he didn't have the super-strength to complete the whole package. It was fine with him though. He never really used his powers. Unlike earth one, he wasn't the loveable dummy that we knew. He was more serious. He was never easily confused and wasn't so worried.

He was one of those people who felt like they weren't doing enough for the city. Or at least, that's what he thought that feeling was.

He asked one of his brothers for help with completing this goal. Marvin to be specific. He had actual magic and was good with computers. It was a good start. Marvin helped him stop his first crime, over communications that is. Jack didn't feel the satisfaction of saving lives that he thought he would. He kept doing this anyway. He kept helping people, he kept saving lives. He even went as far as to accept, and use, one of the ridiculous names his other brothers had given him.

JackieBoy-Man. What a stupid name. He used it anyway. He became quite fond of it actually. Jack went so far as to leave little notes saying things like,

'Thought the police could use a hand.

No need to thank me.

-JackieBoy-Man'

He was turning into Spiderman, he already had the colour scheme, why not go full out? He always loved that superhero. No matter how many more you would show him, Spiderman would always be his favorite.

He always tried his best to do the right thing. Always having good intentions. But... It was boring. Always going through the same routine; Theft, bank robbery, muggings. It was always the same. The city couldn't find some way to be more interesting and honestly, it was annoying the hero.

It was any other day and Jackieboy-Man had just stopped yet another bank robbery. He was just sitting on a rooftop admiring the city. It was always peaceful every now and then. It was one of those moments where he would stop to think about what he was doing. He was wondering if it was worth it to help these people, or if he would just let the police do their job. This would happen once a week, at most. Marvin would have to convince JackieBoy that it was indeed worth it. Was it really though?

After that, he noticed that someone was getting mugged. Instead of helping them, he just watched, wondering what would happen if he just, didn't intervene. If he just ignored the cries for help. He did just that. He ignored it, pretending not to notice; even though he saw everything that happened. He looked around to see that no one else really cared. No one cared that this poor person just got mugged. The funny thing about this entire situation was,

Neither did he.

He didn't care. It was seen in his eyes as a non-serious threat. It was strange, he wasn't sure why he didn't care. JackieBoy was confused by his own feelings. Usually, he wasn't so carefree.

"Why did you just sit there? Why didn't you help?" Marvin questioned. "I was curious. I wanted to see what would happen if I weren't to help." JackieBoy responded. "Well, clearly that didn't work out. You just left the person to get mugged." Jack just remained silent.

He suddenly stood up and turned around. He watched the buildings and the people inside them. "I'm coming back. It's not worth it to just watch over the city." With that, he began to jump from rooftop to rooftop until he made it back to his place. He was on the roof and, luckily, no one was there. Now all he had to do was change and go inside. He also had to try his best to avoid as many people as possible. He did live in an apartment building after all.

He did just that, he changed and went inside where there weren't as many people in the halls as he expected. He just shrugged it off as everyone having something better to do and made his way to his temporary home. As he opened the door, he was met with a rather annoyed-looking Marvin.
