Change In The Air

We did not go far from the room we had just left. Following as the man before me opened and entered the only white door on this floor. The room was uncommonly bright to my eyes, even with the little lighting from the small window and the few on the roof. The colours were a soft grey with blue accents. A single bed near the middle and what appeared to be another couple doors not far from it. I could see a small rug on the floor beside the bed.

"This will be your room for now Dante. It will a safe space. The only people that have access with a key will be me and you. As you settle, we can add more items or decorations to the room as you like. I was not sure what type of clothing you prefer so there is an assortment in the closet to chose from. The washroom with a shower and bath is just beside the closet. It is not the most elaborate room, but as a temporary set up I feel you should be comfortable for the most part."

Thoughts went through my head. What did he mean comfortable? I looked down as the rug and thought it would be soft if I was allowed on it. Not that I would attempt too just yet. I had already decided the corner near the other door would work with fluffy in my arms. I should be safe enough and out of the way. I did notice the camera in the corner, but from what I can see it was pointed at the entryway rather than the entire room. I turned back to the man and waited for an order.

"I can't imagine what you have been through and honestly can't put myself in your shoes. All I can offer you is the time and comfort to heal. It has been a long day for everyone. For you most of all." I watch him walk towards the door and point at something in the hall. "My office is just right there if you need anything else. I'll leave the door open. Feel free to make yourself comfortable and use whatever you find in the room. Do not hesitate to come to my office if you need anything more. Good evening, Dante."

He turned the lights off then closed the door behind himself. Slowly his footsteps faded in the direction he pointed towards. I took another look around the room with my eyes and decided it was still bright with the lights off, but nothing I could do about that. The corner I chose was a little chilly at first, but considering I was not leaning on metal bars it soon warmed up and sleep came shortly after.

When I woke the lights were still off. The room was quieter than I have had around me in a long time. There were no sounds of cries, yelling or even footsteps. Feeling a little uneasy with the change I took more time to observe my surroundings.

Having been through years of moving I could already tell that the room had be changed recently. The window looked as though there might have been bars in it before the paint as there were indents that look familiar to me. The area he called a closet when looked at closer was more of an addition not really attached to the wall. I had seen the brother build one in my room once, only to move it when he said my smell was too much.

The walk around the room, though short was much longer than my usual cage space. I looked back at the door he said was the bathroom. With a shake of my head, I decided to wait for direction. I had already felt that my exploration would have the man coming back ready to dish out punishment. Without another thought I walked to the corner and curled up again.

I am not sure how long I slept for, but I was awoken by a knocking sound coming from the door I arrived in. Curious I sat up and looked in that direction. I have heard people banging on doors, even saw some get kicked in, but never heard the soft knocks before.

"Dante? Are you awake?" Akira was speaking from behind the door. I was confused on why he was behaving in such a manor. "Gekka, what are you doing?"

"He has no idea about manners. I bet he is sitting in there staring at your silly knocks. Considering he does not speak, and he was known as the mute, he might not be able to. How do you expect him to respond?"

Now that both men seemed to be at the door I curled up and closed my eyes. Who knows what they had planned.

"Gekka! No! I told him he was safe here you can't just open his..." At this moment the door swung open and banged against the wall having me turn back towards it.

"Whoops!" The one known as Gekka steps in first and I could see his smile drop when he spotted me. My guess was he did not like my smell. Shuffling I tried to rein it in a little. "He did not take the bed."

"What do you mean?" Akira followed shortly after. I could hear him sigh.

"Looks like you have your hands tied with this one. You said the doctor will be in today?"

"Yeah. We want to make sure the drugs used will have no ill effects. I also want to see where he is at for nutrition and body condition. No one really saw him around unless they were trying to control him. But we can guess how he was treated based of the testaments of the others. Which, is not good at all."

"How well do you think he will take to an exam? From what were had been told they used other omegas to control him." Gekka looked back at me before smiling. "Hey boss. He was used to taking orders, right?"

"What are you planning? I do not trust that smile."

I had to be honest and found the strange smile on the man like a pup knowing he shouldn't touch something. It gave me shivers right down my spine.

"Well now you have scared him." Akira smacked Gekka's arm and pushed him away. "We will talk later." His face softened as he turned back to me. "You don't have to worry about him. He is usually harmless. We have some breakfast being brought up, however we, well, you have another visitor. He is a great physician. We need to make sure that the drugs in your system have no harmful affects and to get a nutrition plan made without shocking your system. Since this will be your safe space, I felt we could do it in the room you saw Ace last night. The floor is clear, and I can promise you will be safe."

I felt a headache coming on from this guy constantly talking. With a huff I closed my eyes and turned away from them once more. My action caused Gekka to laugh.

"Dante. You're funny. Don't listen to this guy prattle on. You just have to follow us to get a check-up, then we eat. Simple. Not much to think about."

This guy was insane. I rolled back over and looked directly at him with a glare. My eyes caught movement from Akira who once more pushed Gekka away.

"How about this, after we eat you can come back here to nap. For now, just follow us. He grabbed the arm of Gekka, which bothered me a little, and moved towards the door. "Let's go Dante."

Without much choice, at least a choice that would allow me to sleep I stood up and followed them. I could tell they kept the surprise for showing on their face too much. The thing is. Akira intrigues me. He is calm, quiet but under it all I sense strength. I have never seen someone who held real power. An alpha that used his strength gently. How unique.

As I followed them both into the room from the night before I caught another scent in the room and shot my face past the two before me. Standing near an open window was another alpha. I had never seen or smelled this one before. I looked at Akira then back at the new one, waiting for new orders.

"Good morning, Mr. Eves. I hope your flight went well?" Akira smiled as he spoke to the other man in the room. "I apologize once more for the sudden call, but as you can see, we have a special guest." Moving aside, Akira allowed the line of sight of the new man to easily see me. "We just have basic check up needed along with making sure we get a good nutritional plan for him."

The man looked at me from head to toe before very gruffly speaking out. "He is too thin. Hair and eyes too dull. He needs a full complete balanced diet." I took two steps back when the man started to walk over. "He is also under socialized. Can't read behaviour differences." He stopped walking towards me and looked at Akira. "I know what you do in your free time. What history do you have for him?"

"Absolutely nothing. It is like he appeared from nowhere. From what we have gathered he has spent his whole life in their custody. We can't trace any lost or stolen pups who would be around his age. He is a male omega, dominant genes, who has not had his first heat yet. Up until a week before the sale he was left alone in his own cage. He does not speak or make a sound."

"I can schedule an appointment to look more into his speech, however I am thinking it is due to his care. I suggest we start with basic bloodwork to give him a clean bill of health and I will gather a list of extra nutrients he may need. As for the lack of heat, it is not common, but it could just be his body knowing he was not in the right condition. I would suggest you have him prepared for it as his diet changes." The doctor still had a gruff or gravely voice, but he looked kinder. At least, not as perverted as the last doctor I saw. I allowed the doctor to come near and complete his checkup. Hoping I could finally trust this man, Akira.

The appointment was much different than I have ever had before. I did not have to strip. The bloodwork was the worst of it. The doctor also took measurements like the last one, but it was my waist only. He prodded my hips and ran his fingers over my ribs.

"He is easily sixty pounds under weight. He will need lots of proteins, and grains. Simply start with a balanced meal four times a day with a snack between. The last meal, make it small and not too late so his body can digest it. I would do smaller servings. Once he gains a little weight, I will suggest a proper exercise program to help build muscle and his energy. I would guess he has not done much but sleep with how limited his options would have been. Currently I would suggest you have him also placed on a regular sleep schedule. Allow a small nap after a snack in the afternoon if he needs it, but make sure he only gets about eight hours a night." The doctor nodded and started to leave. "I will inform you if there are any other concerns over his bloodwork. You have a long way to go, but I hope to see him grow in your care."

As the doctor left both Gekka and Akira sighed. "Well boss, we knew it would not be an easy fix. Have any ideas? I know I do. But food first talk later!" Gekka left the room as quickly as the words left his mouth.

"Well, Dante. Looks like you will have a lot more changes coming. I hope you are prepared." He smiled as he spoke. "I am hopeful for your full recovery."

Through the last few hours that word had been spoken a few times. I knew it of it's use only after severe punishment towards another. This did not appear to be the case, as it was directed to me. Then there was this change they spoke of. Was there more to my new owners? Time would only tell.

It couldn't be this easy could it? I guess readers will just have to see!
