45 Unexpected Surprise!

"The test is very simple. You only need to defeat ten normal level origin beasts!" The officer answered Mikhail's question.

"So it is only ten normal level origin beasts. Can the three of us take the exam together?" Mikhail asked the officer again. The current Mikhail could already fight against thirty normal level origin beasts with ease even without using his soul equip ability.

"That's… All of you can take the exam together, but the condition will be harsher. This is what we call a team exam, and the number of normal level origin beasts that you'll be facing will be doubled to sixty! How about it? Do you still want to take it?" The officer asked Mikhail, then his eyes stared at the three of them.

"Sixty… Huh?" Mikhail held his chin while considering about it.

Of course, it would not be a problem for him to face sixty normal level origin beasts at once, even two or three hundred of them would not pose any danger for him at all since his body is already reinforced by the inscription runes. "Master, Lumina is not that frail. Lumina promise that Lumina will take care of herself so please let Lumina enter the exam too! Please…"Lumina said to Mikhail with watery eyes that could make any people felt pity and sympathy towards her, even Mikhail felt it too.

"Sigh… Okay then… But be sure to stay close to big sister Reina or I won't take you to any dangerous place again next time!" Mikhail warned Lumina sternly while he pinched her soft cheek gently.

"Un!" Lumina nodded her head and smiled sweetly to Mikhail. While Mikhail sighed lightly when he saw it, this is the kind of smile that would always make him want to spoil Lumina even more.

"Okay then… We want to enter the team test for three-person!" Mikhail talked to the officer firmly.

"Since all of you has already decided, then sign this paper. This is the letter of agreement and statement, stating that we will not be responsible for any accidents, such as being crippled or even death that could occur during the test!" The officer gave several document papers to Mikhail and the others.

Mikhail took all the document papers then gave some of it to Reina and Lumina, all of them signed on it immediately, and gave all the document papers back to the officer.

The officer then sealed all the document papers a few official stamps and escorted Mikhail and the others to the door at the corner of the lobby.

Reina, Lumina, Mikhail, and the officer entered the door and walked to a long hallway until they found another door on the side.

"Oh yeah… How could you have so many normal level origin beasts? Did you intentionally breed them like cattle just for the hunter's test?" Mikhail asked the officer while they kept walking.

"Of course not… Those origin beasts are caught by our Mercenary guild's members. They will be killed later and their origin cores will be extracted later. Then we will supply their meat to all Blue City's restaurants." The officer explained to Mikhail patiently.

"Then what will you do about their origin cores? Sell them? Or is there a way to use it?" Mikhail puzzled and asked again.

"We will sell it to the capital city! You probably didn't know about it, but the people at the capital city could extract the energy inside the origin cores and use it for various purposes like forging the weapons or armors, making some protection amulets, and many others!" The officer explained excitedly.

While they talked to each other, they finally arrived at a large empty cage made from a solid iron.

"The three of you can enter the cage first. We will release all sixty normal level origin beasts inside after you are prepared!" The officer instructed Mikhail and the others to enter the large iron cage.

Mikhail, Reina, and Lumina entered the cage as the officer instructed then stood close to each other.

"Ready… The mercenary guild's exam… BEGIN!!!" The officer pressed some button on the wall then the wall inside the iron cage opened and all sixty normal level origin beasts stormed out.

There are various different types of origin beasts that came out. Some of them are wood foxes, some of them are green rabbits, and the rests are the type that Mikhail had never met before.

Mikhail instantly changed his shadow sword's ring into a giant three meters scythe, and slashed it horizontally that cut a third of them at once.

The giant scythe quickly changed once again and countless spikes extended from it, stabbed several origin beasts, and killed them all.

There are about twenty of them still remaining, but they were already running away from Mikhail. So they tried to attack Reina and Lumina that hid behind Mikhail.

Reina aimed at some of them and shot her fireball towards them.

BBBOOOMMM!!!

There are more or less five origin beasts that died from Reina's attack while the rest are already closing in.

Mikhail changed his shadow sword's form once again into a spear and threw it towards them. The spear instantly changed into a net that trapped ten origin beasts in it. With Mikhail's grabbing gesture the shadow sword's net shrunk into a ring that chopped everything inside it into tiny pieces.

There are only five origin beasts remaining. However, all of them already pounced towards Lumina, since she seemed to be the easiest prey of them all.

"LUMINA WATCH OUT!!!" Mikhail instantly equipped his demonic werewolf soul but what happened next, made him very shocked until his jaw almost dropped to the floor.

Lumina slapped all the five origin beasts that pounced towards her lightly. Lumina's slap looked weak and slow, it's more like a pat rather than a slap to hit someone but…

SSPPPPLLLLAAAAAAAATTTTTT!!!

All the five origin beasts exploded into a pool of blood when they touched with Lumina's slap. They all died like a mosquito when we hit them with our palm.

The officer looked at Lumina in horror and dropped his pen onto the floor.

Reina widened her eyes in disbelief and then she looked around. She must be thinking that someone is helping from behind when Lumina is in danger but she found no one other than the officer and the three of them.

Mikhail quickly rubbed his eyes several times afraid that this could be some illusion created by some origin beasts while forgetting to close his opened jaw.
