43 Is She Going To Eat Me?!

I don't know how much time has passed since I've been unconscious, but right now I'm slowly opening my eyes and seeing a familiar ceiling above me, it didn't take a moment to realize that I'm in my room.

Now that I am fully conscious, I feel numb. It wasn't just a part of my body but every part of it, it's weird I can't describe it by words alone.

But I suppose, it's preferable to the pain that I felt before. As I looked at my body I saw a lot of needles that were pinned in some part of my body.

It's no wonder that, I feel numb it's because of this, then I heard a voice at the back of my head,

"Blake, you're awake, that's good," Echidna said with a gentle voice.

However, for some reason, I felt my body shudder from her tone. It may sound like she's completely calm on the surface, but inside she is not. I don't know how but I could definitely feel that she was angry.

"Uhmm..!"

What? I couldn't speak properly, I tried again but it ended up the same, then Echidna started, "It's pointless, stop trying to speak, you won't be able to talk any proper words much less a sentence."

"So don't speak, and I'll explain even though you can't talk, I know what you wanted to ask, and yes your guess is right these needles are the reason why you can't speak properly, before you complain, no it's completely necessary, I'm sure right now your entire body feels numb, and can't feel anything that's exactly the purpose of these needles, without them you'll be in a world of pain, so be grateful." Echidna moved her face to mine, I noticed that there was a hint of worry, grief, and coldness in her eyes.

After looking at my eyes for a few minutes, she sighs in resignation, and her calm facade broke and shows a certain kind of anger and fear, "Blake, do you know what I'm feeling right now?"

Her voice was as sharp as a knife when she uttered those words, she was far from pleased, she was annoyed? Yes, irritated? Absolutely, she was angry at me.

But it wasn't anything but a fit of pointless anger, but a justified one. She was angry at me for almost dying, while I wasn't the best person to read someone's inner thoughts by looking at their faces, but right now I can tell, she made it too obvious for me not to know.

"I was afraid, I-i was afraid that you'd died you know that? When I saw your bloodied figure, I feared the worst, I-it was scary…th-this is the first time I felt like this Blake, first time that I'm afraid of losing someone, losing you I-i don't know what will become of me if you died.." Echidna gently touched my face, she was caressing it like the most fragile thing in the world.

Her face was afraid, confused as she did say that this was her first time experiencing this type of thing, this never happened to her, this was the first time she got bothered by someone dying.

Due to her inexperience in this matter, she panicked, she instantly demanded Archer to put me down and she started checking if my heart was still beating and she sighs in relief knowing that I was alive.

Her display of emotion, really shocked me to a degree, Echidna? Shuttering? Losing her emotional control? It was foreign to me, but just by how affected she is, I know that she cared for me, but this changed things differently, she doesn't just care for me, it was more than that!

Am I that important to her? She usually doesn't show much emotion, but now that she's expressing them, I realized that I have more impact on her than I originally thought.

Gods from above, she loves me, she truly did, no one could fake an expression such as that, not even mother showed such care for me.

On that day, I experienced what it means to be loved by a woman that truly loves you.

Damn, I'm lucky.

Echidna slowly moved her face to mine and gently kissed my lips with hers.

A few hours later, Echidna removed the needles that paralyzed my body. It was a bit painful when she took the needles, after that, I started moving my muscles to avoid stiffness.

Every member of the group chat gathered in my room except for Jaune who got kidnapped, the room remained silent for a minute before I decided to break it, "People die if they are killed,"

Suddenly I was slapped at the back by Echidna, she glared at me, and I smiled at her weary, "Sorry, I'm just trying to break the ice."

Echidna shook her head and sighed, then she began, "Aside from that, you should explain what happened."

"Yeah, I was about to anyway, so does anyone know that Jaune was kidnapped?"

All 3 of them nodded, then I continued, "So, this is what happened as all of you know, we got assigned to a mission to slay a demon from the north, let's say we got unlucky and met the strongest demon under Muzan,"

I swear I saw Archer flinch as I said the word 'unlucky' not that I'm going to say this out loud, this is probably his fault, his E-rank luck is contagious.

"We fought it and the result is that we lost and I almost died, if it wasn't for Archer thank you, by the way, you're my hero." I could help but say the last words jokingly.

But Archer didn't take it as a joke, his glare drilled through my skull, and said with a sharp tone, "Don't call me that,"

I just shrugged it off, then I continued, "Anyway, I also have some important information to say…if I'm right then I may know who our target is, the system user that we've been looking for."

That got everyone's attention, then Archer asked, "Who is it?"

I hesitated for a moment, before answering, "Oda Akane…my..no she's our teacher with Jaune, the one who taught us our breathing technique…"

Archer was the first one to notice my conflicted expression, and understood my hesitation, after all, he did experience a similar situation where he was forced to kill someone he knew, knowing that he decided to remain silent.

"Good, so we can finally finish this mission now all we need to do is find her, and kill her," Lucifer said without an ounce of hesitation.

"Wait, we don't necessarily need to kill her, we just need her to give up the system," I said.

Honestly, I don't want to kill her if possible to avoid it.

"I'm afraid that it's hardly possible, it's hard for anyone to give up power and your teacher is no exception." Archer couldn't have said the statement truer.

I couldn't argue with that, because it's true, I couldn't imagine without the group chat, if it was taken away from me, I would be nothing, so I wouldn't blame Akane if she were to refuse us to take it away from her system.

Echidna decided to support me, by changing the subject. "Let's talk about this after we rescue Jaune from the demons."

"Yeah, let's continue this discussion later after we rescue our blonde idiot," I'm glad that Echidna changed the subject.

I sent her a grateful look, then she smiled back at me.

Archer stared at me and Echidna, he wasn't a fool, he knew what was going on but he decided not to point it out.

Even Lucifer was aware, but she didn't really care.

"To rescue that blonde, we needed his location, without it we can't save that idiot," Archer said the last words sarcastically.

"Oh, if it's the location I know where he is," Lucifer replied calmly.

"Wait? Really? If you really did, how?" I asked curiously.

"It's nothing special, if you all didn't realize I've put 'mark' in each one of you, that's how I know where he is,"

"Huh? Since when did you?" I asked in surprise,

"That's not important, for now, let's start thinking of a plan," Lucifer clearly didn't want to share the details, so none of us tried to ask her about it.

Thus, the 4 of us started planning to rescue Jaune.

He was currently in a very dangerous situation, his heart was beating miles an hour, and the reason why he was nervous is,

Muzan, specifically in her private chamber, could only wait for her to finish her shower; he couldn't get out if he wanted to.

Because of a certain upper moon, she has dimensional space abilities, if he were to leave he would come back, again and again to Muzan's private chamber.

Trust me, he already tried leaving dozens of times, as for killing Muzan it's basically impossible, first of all he doesn't have his nichirin blade with him. It was taken away by Kokushibo, right now he's just a pig that is waiting to get slaughtered.

He nervously thought, 'After she finishes her shower, is she going to eat me?!'
