3 Another Awful Day

Siberia ran as fast as her toned legs could carry her. She felt the heat of the sun on her back, buckets of sweat pouring over her. She spared a glance back towards the hospital and that's when she saw him. Standing under the tree, his features ever prominent. Siberia stood there for a brief moment, biting her lips nervously before walking ahead, cheeks flushed red. 'What am I blushing for?' Siberia thought to herself as she made her way into the public transport, grabbing a seat by the window. From afar she saw his beautiful permed hair vanishing as the bus moved on.

While in the transport, Siberia noticed a person sneaking photos of a young lady, seated by the window on the left line of her. Her head resting up against the window; she appeared to know nothing about the man's activity as she was charmed in her phone with her headphones connected. Siberia could have done without it. She could have done without to intercede either, yet she realized she can't allow this to go unnoticed. Siberia herself was once a victim and she enigmatically recollected that somebody helped her. A boy with light- earthy colored hair.

Siberia stood up and snatched the man's phone. He seemed to be in his 50s and probably was without doubt. His hair almost grey and damaged; pores were clearly visible and his skin hung loose. He looked at her aghast and then back at the girl who now took notice of the man beside her. "누구세요 (WHO ARE YOU)". The girl hurriedly stood up.

The scene caught everyone's attention. Siberia paid no attention to them though and looked through the man's phone, his gallery in particular. "Yah" He stood up and tried to snatch his phone back, but Siberia was quick enough to grab him by his hand and kicked him in the groin. He groaned in pain with his head hung low. "Ahjussi, I want you to delete this yourself and apologize or I'm gonna have to report you for doing inappropriate actions with this girl; with evidence". Siberia waved her phone in his face, showing the evidence she recorded threateningly. The man was dumbfounded to be able to speak against and consequently yielded. "죄송합니다 (Sorry)"

Right after deleting, he jumped out of the bus whereas everyone else gasped upon his actions. Siberia turned to return back to her seat however was stopped by the girl who grabbed her hand, "감사합니다 (Thank you)" She bowed and so did Siberia.

The entire time after, Siberia remained like a statue, scooped down in her seat, not wanting to grab attention or anyone from the back to look at her.

Shortly after reaching her office, Siberia straight up headed into her boss's room, she kept on muttering to herself, 'Please my lord, have some mercy'.

Siberia half ran and half walked on briskly as She at that point was 5 minutes late.

She was drenched in sweat, her cheeks red as tomato. She lurched to the mirror to gawk at her sweaty form, the sweat under her armpits and all making her feel disgustingly clammy. Her perfume completely wore off; the neck lines appeared more prominent and so did her jaw. Her hair appeared as if she had an incomplete hair wash and tied it as it is, messy and stinky. The hem of her skirt was dirty with slight patches of mud which she got on while she hoisted herself into the bus. She could feel her shirt cling onto her back and could taste the salty water that's making its way from her head to her mouth. Hair clung to her skin like a second layer. Whereas the zit, right on her chin, looked more prominent and awful.

'Aish, this damned Hyperhidrosis'. Siberia stood under the air conditioner, trying to evaporate the sweat. She sprayed perfume all over. Though she knew she was already late, she couldn't afford to enter his room in this state because if she did, she would straight on get insulted.

"Woah Siberia, did you run a marathon in the Sahara?" Mikhail, one of her colleague, said as he passed through, grinning.

She and Mikhail are close colleagues, after their work hours they would always go to get soju and gulp it down sometimes at her house or sometimes at his, cussing their boss on each sip or would talk about the people the hate or reminiscence over their embarrassing moments. 'Aish that punk', she laughed as she thought before making her way in.

"Good evening sir" Siberia said, making her way towards his desk.

"Well, isn't it our office's princess" Mr. Han, her boss, said while scowling at her and looking disgusted as he stared at her.

"Sir, I can make sense of"

"Quiet", he lifted his hand to shush her. "You might have required 30 minutes more, why come now, huh? I have practically the entire day to hang tight for you" he said sarcastically.

"I… I told you.."

"Enough! I don't want to hear it, the documents?" he said as he broadened his hands out.

"Ah yes, here, I've prepared the marketing plan presentation too. Kindly give your feedback so I can work assuming need be."

He heaved as he took the documents. "You realize I can't terminate you as you're the only dependable specialist here, UN-FOR-TU-NATE-LY" he spelled every syllable of the word to emphasize it.

Siberia said nothing. Mr. Han didn't say all the more either and Siberia took this as a sign to leave and left his room.

Siberia felt the urge to dislocate her spirit from her body. She was totally exhausted and thus tossed her bag directly in front of her and fell on her seat, hurling a weighty, depleted breath.

"Ohhhhh, is our ace worker worn out, jinja?" Mikhail came over along with his chair as they both are use to sit right next to each other, with a 5 feet distance. "Not now Mikhail", Siberia rested her head on her desk, eyes closed as she faced towards Mikhail.

"Aye, wassup, is today another awful day?" he said as he laid his elbow on her back.

"Isn't everyday here a terrible day and the fact that we never leave the workplace having a decent day in light of the fact that our supervisor is a sleaze ball"

"Oi, you don't want Lizzy hearing this" Mikhail glanced around to check assuming anybody gave any consideration to them. "I heard she was a snitch back in school"

"Isn't that just too obvious?" Siberia said as she leaned against her chair, rubbing her eyes in attempt to drive the fatigue away.

"Daebak! Here, some coffee"

"Thanks" Siberia sipped dully.

"I'll be leaving early today" Mikhail scratched his head as he backed away, packing his bag.

"Why?"

"Can't say much for I don't know myself. Mom's calling, probably something serious".

"Ah, good luck with that"

"I can tell its bad, she took my full name, MIKHAIL KILLANI"

He waved her goodbye before vanishing from her sight.

Siberia slumped back in her seat, pouting and letting out an exasperated cry. "Today is specifically cursed" she muttered to herself as she turned her laptop on.

"Siberia"

She glanced up ahead only to see her boss walking towards her. Siberia indeed did hate her boss, but she can't ignore the fact that he was captivating despite him being in his 40s and his hair already with visible grey streaks. His facial features well defined and proportioned with slight resemblance to the Greek God's sculpture. He looked so fine in his black tuxedo and polished shoe. 'Obviously any young lady would succumb to him' she thought as she saw Lizzy strolling behind him.

Siberia stood up, "Yes sir?"

"Okay so, I'm giving you a 2 week holiday however, it's not exactly a holiday"

"Uh…" Siberia waited for him to explain further.

"I need you to look after my nephew who's in the hospital, he'll be discharged within 2 weeks"

"But sir, I still have some unfinished work" Siberia spoke as she nervously played with her fingers.

"That's alright, Lizzy will take over" He looked back at her who seemed disappointed with the proposition.

"Okay….sure" Siberia however was unsure, but she couldn't say no as she feared she might dig her own grave.

"Don't worry, I'm not asking you to do it for free, I'll pay you 150,000 won per week so for 2 weeks it'll be 300,000 won"

Siberia looked at him flabbergasted, "Truly?"

"Yes" he grinned a bit.

Lizzy at the back stood flabbergasted as well.

"Alright, OK… .when would it be a good idea for me to get everything rolling?"

"You can start out tomorrow, I'll text you the clinic name what not"

Siberia nodded, the energy plainly noticeable all over.

"Besides, you'll get your monthly pay as you've proactively completed the vast majority of the work", he left just subsequent to, abandoning a bewildered Lizzy.

Siberia on the other hand burned through no time and left the workplace in contentment.
