107 Legacy (1)

"I heard about you. Aren't you the kid whose father got kicked out of his own company?" Emilio pointed at Carlo who faced visibly turned furious. His hands suddenly turned to a fist and he was about to swing them at Emilio's face when a force felt like it pushed him back to his seat.

Carlo turned back and saw that Von's hand was holding on to his shoulder, not letting him move in the slightest. Turns out Von held his friend back, not wanting him to make the mistake of punching first. It wasn't something that they should do if they could help it.

"Aren't you the kid who didn't want to swim because he's scared of the water? I remember you asking to be excused but the teacher rejected your request." Von who had seen Emilio before shook his head while looking at Emilio with disdain.

"Oh yeah! I remember now, he was shaking like a wet cat when it was his turn to dive, wasn't he?" Jed chimed in, not wanting to be left out when the insults and backhanded comments are starting. He lives for this kind of thing.

"Shut up! You stupid nerds!" Emilio who was already getting embarrassed so he couldn't reply, so Ranton had to step up to defend him. Anthony just laughed quietly on the side, something that Emilio didn't miss.

"Just leave, kiddos. You're spoiling our lunch. Hey, Jared. Tell your children to fuck off." Seeing as these idiots are starting to bother his friends, Zel finally gave them his attention. He only knew Jared, he remembered being quite friendly with him later in life. What he didn't remember was that Jared was pretty irritable as a kid.

It could be said that children shouldn't be taken seriously. Most of the time, these kids do these things just to attract attention. But when you're being harassed, there's no reason to give them what they want. Especially when you have better things to do with your time.

"I don't think we're at the same page here, Fatty." Right when Anthony said so, he looked at his friends with a smile on his face. He was thinking about how good of a comeback that was just now. Having known Zel for a few years now, he knew that the boy was annoyed at being called fat.

But even after a while, none of his crew laughed. That was because Zel had no reaction at all, even his friends looked like they were more pissed at them than he was. Feeling quite discontented about it, Anthony thought of something else to say. As he felt like he was being unrecognized for what seemed to him like a really funny joke, he lashed out at Zel with a fury.

"Hey, Fatty! Apologize for your mistake this morning and bow your head. If you don't, well, we're going to, uh..."

"Hey, what's your problem?" Carlo, who couldn't stand their aggressive attitude anymore, took to his feet and pointed his finger at Jared and his goons. Not even caring about Anthony at all, making the boy angrier.

"That's right! You, you, you dummies think you're so great!?" An aggravated Jed joined in, he looked around the faces of the boys before him and thought of something. He looked around for the easiest boy to target, and he found his mark on the boy at Jared's right.

Jed looked at the boy who laughed the loudest earlier, Xander. "I can't even look at your face without thinking that it's shaped like a foot! Did your mother marry a shoe?"

"Pfft. Haha!" Von and Carlo laughed like there's no tomorrow while Zel smiled. It wasn't really that funny to Zel, but the red faced Xander really did have a foot shaped face. Maybe Jed was on to something.

None of them realized that Emilia was distracted on the side. She only had eyes for Zel, not even bothering to hide it from anyone. She wanted to confirm something but didn't know how to say it. She didn't even know what to say.

"..." Jared looked at Zel in the eyes. He had never seen Zel with such a face before, not as confident as he did today. His lips weren't even twitching like he always does when he was teased, something that the ever-observant Jared was aware of. Perhaps he really did awaken a gift, but he wasn't sure of anything yet.

It was then that the tension in the air earlier was gone in an instant. If the boys were smart, they'd back off and act like it never happened. They were losing the argument, sure, but it's not like they weren't the ones to start this fight. But things are never that easy.

"You think you're winning!? I'm going to punish you for even thinking about talking bad about us! I'll, I'll…"

Ranton who started his rant with fervor in his eyes suddenly turned dimwitted as he looked inside himself for a good punishment. Having been a child of the Kilmore family, he had a few ideas in mind.

'I'll have them beaten with sticks each day that they come to this school! Yeah, and as for that Zel, I'll kick him every time he doesn't bow before me! I'll also have him beg me to let him off, but then I won't do it! Yeah, that's what you should do to dogs like him!'

Thinking about his family turned his mood sour once again, making him try and reach for a much graver punishment than what he intended to give Zel earlier. He had quite a lot of things going on at home that really makes look forward to going to school. In here, he was a true noble. At home, he was just another child to train.

'How cute.'

Looking at the kids trying to intimidate him, Zel smiled. He remembered these boys from way back when. He recalled how they were quite bratty, but it was never this much. Perhaps his time travelling antics are already causing some unforeseen effects. Still, it's not like he needed to just stay here and accept the abuse.

"Oho, you sound so confident now that you got more friends, don't you? Who's going to come here next, your mommy?" Zel took a sip of his water and placed it back on the table. He was sure that their little 'commotion' would be stopped by a teacher any time now.

Speaking of teachers to break this situation up, there was one standing in the distance now. She looks like she's headed this way, so Zel merely passed off the aggressive remarks like it was nothing. Besides, they really were just kids anyway.

"Shut up! At least he's not a fatty!"

Emilio jumped in to help out his friend Ranton, who looked like he was going to cry. He seems so unlike himself, as the Ranton he knew was one who always liked to joke around. This time, he wants to try and make someone from the other group cry. Starting with the easy target.

"What? Are you crying? Hey, Emilio! That baby over there looks like he wants to see his mommy!"

Jed, who caught a glimpse of weakness at Ranton's face, suddenly interjected. He was sure that Ranton would start to break down and cry now. That's what happens when people get put on the spot. He loves seeing stupid people cry, especially when they've earned it.

"You trash dare to talk to me like that again, I'll, I'll... Bang."

That was until Ranton slammed his hand on their table once again. This time, however, he used so much force that it spooked the distracted Emilia. What was more troublesome was that a cup overturned, and its contents drenched the preoccupied Emilia.

"The heck do you think you're doing!?" But it wasn't her that got angry, it was the boy beside her that did.

Using his Time Energy outside of his goals is a stupid action to take. But humans are simple creatures, they fight back when they get angry. This was especially more true when you've spent most of your life being respected. Having someone slam your table was disrespect, and someone spilling water on your wife is insolence!

Zel hid his hand behind himself as his ring flashed a small glow that was unseen by anyone. Zel had sneakily clenched his hand that held the time marble he took out just now. A material that he only had a few handfuls of. The wide variety of uses that a time marble can be used for is able to make any person wish they'd have one.

Turning back time, even by just a few seconds, makes this small sphere in his possession pretty much priceless in the eyes of many people. But then there was also the abilitiy to stop time and speeding up time flow, two of the most wished for powers that everyone who had a chance to live life would pray for.

It is much too precious to just spend wastefully like this, especially since it would be the energy supply for his kingdom's most important functions later on. But when they've gone too far, he won't hold back.

'Time Stranding! First Hand!'
