Nothing happened overnight which was such a huge weight off my shoulders. I was actually pretty freaked out yesterday and was not looking forward to a potential repeat today.

Sara was cooking breakfast by the time I left the bedroom. It was a wondrous selection of sausages, bacon, hash browns, tomatoes, baked beans, crepes and French toast. There was also enough to feed my whole family, at least I thought so until thirty minutes later when it was all gone. She explained that even partial shifts use a lot of energy and crank up our metabolism. In order to stay healthy, new werewolves in the transition phase need to eat far more than they're previously used too.

That's all well and good but that food would have lasted me at least three days before. I am going to run out of money fast if I keep going at this rate.

With that realisation, I decided today was as good as any to look for a new job. At this moment in time I have to be very specific in whom I work for though. If I took just any old job then wolfed out, there would be some serious explaining to do.

After some asking around Carly contacted me and advised that three Wolf families were willing to hire a transitioning Were and be considerate of time off requirements.

The options were:

1. Carpet layer

2. Painter and decorator

3. Lumberjack

In any of these I have absolutely no skills at all. I would have preferred the Painter position but that could still put me in awkward situations at the moment.

As such, I am now gainfully employed as a lumberjack. Ensue lesbian lumberjack jokes! Both Rachael and Sara found it quite amusing and asked as to how much plaid I would now be wearing. Hardy freaking ha ha.

I start tomorrow at 8am and after that I'll work three days a week. They're paying me a really good wage as well. So, I don't have to worry about finding a part time position for the other two days.

It's not quite a lumberjack in the traditional sense. They get advised when and where a tree is blocking a path or debris has fallen. Someone goes out to clear the obstruction and brings the wood back. If it's too big we chop it up into manageable chunks.

When it's an ok size then they carve them or make something from it. Those carvings or items are then sold in their local store to help cover costs and encourage people not to take wood from the forest where it's still needed.

To start I'll be going out into the forest with the collectors. Firstly because I don't yet know how to carve or whittle in the slightest. If I want to stay in this role after my full transformation then they'll teach me at that point. The other reason is if anything happens I'll already be in the woods and can hide easily, humans could walk into the workshop though they shouldn't.
