1 Chapter 1: Moon

I open my eyes Monday morning the day after graduation to sunlight flowing thru my windows. I get up from bed and check myself in the mirror and a rub my hair away from my face and I taje a baby wipe and wash my face off.

I hear a knock on my door and stand up off my chair bed. I open the door and see my little sister Elena there with Capitol our Golden Labrador Retriever pup with her on a leash.

"Time for the park sissy!" she smiles up at me

"Just gimme a minute to get dressed Elena" I tell her and shut my door to get dressed

I suddenly hear something hit my window with a ticking sound and I look outside but don't see anything as it's getting late and dark.

When my sister was born Dad wasn't alive he died when I was 10 which was 8 years ago. Mom died a few years ago when Elena was only 5 now she is 9 years old. I graduated last week and took at job at a local theater to earn money to support both me and my little sister. Mother told me that I am a good leader and can do good things for others but really I just am very nice. I walk downstairs and grab my sweater and put my shoes on and Elena runs down the stairs with Capitol right behind her. I bought Capitol a few months ago and he's grown fast. I take Misty oir Angora cat and hold her in my arms and hug her before giving her some food and water. We walk down the dead street with barely any cars and I have a weird feeling somebody is following us.

"Elena stay close to me" I hold her other hand while she holds onto Capitols leash.

She looks up at me with concern "Whats wrong sissy?"

I shake my head and focus on the path in the park and I sit down on the grey bench as Elena plays with Capitol in the sand box.

"Is that your daughter?" a familiar voice asks

My two best friends stand there with smiles as I was caught off guard

Andrew and Melony have been my best friends since we were in kindergarten. Andrew is Melonys brother and they both help me with Elena wh I am out of town or working or taking a jog.

Melony hugs me and kisses my cheek "Elena is growing fast"

Andrew hugs me and kisses me on the lips and I push him playfully "What was that for?!"

"What?!I am a boy I need more than just a kiss on the cheek Ray" he laughs.

Sometimes they call me 'Ray' since my name is Summer Rose Jackson and i was born on a beautiful sunny day and Ray is short for Sunray or Sunshine.

Andrew jogs over to Elena and says his greetings to her as Melony sits next to me and sighs.

"I am pregnant " she says

"No your joking!" I practically jump out of my spot on the bench

"Its Andrews" she looks down at her feet

I frown "How did that happen?"

She lays her head back "I was drunk and we were both out of it so I got knocked up by Andrew"

"I am so sorry Mel" I hug her

She looks down at her watch and smiles ", We got to head back see you next week " they both leave and I notice Elena asleep next to me while I was talking to Melony. I pick her up and grab Capitols leash and walk home. I make it halfway to home and Capitol starts barking at the bushes and I hold his leash tightly but he breaks loose. I try not to wake Elena up and walk into the bushes and I stop in my tracks as I see a gang of boys and a few girls in a group talking. Capitol sits in thr middle of the group and they stare at him.

A male with nice muscles speaks "Its just a dog"

A little girl about Elenas age spots me and slowly walks over to me without being seen. She smiles at me and gives me a pink rose.

"Go back" I tell her but it's too late because the whole group sees me and thr mad growls at the little girl and she whines. and scampers away from me. He takes a step towards me and sniffs the air "Are you a human?"

I smile and try not to talk loud "Duh, what else would I be?"

He points to Elena "She is asleep? Is she your daughter?"

"Yes she's asleep, and no she's not my daughter she's my sister" I rub her back and she puts her head on my chest.

He steps up to me and I take a step back "Your in our territory"

I frown "Territory?"

He nods but then a different male walks over and smiles at me "Sorry, but you got to run before these wolves snap "

I immediately take off down the street out of the woods and I accidentally wake up Elena while opening the door.
