7 Reinforcements

All the rest of the enemy forces have been wiped out by the time John gets within shooting distance of the werewolf and mechs. The werewolf has lunged onto one of the mechs and is trying to pry open the guard surrounding the pilot. The other mech rams an arm into its side, the saw blade cutting deep into its ribs.

The werewolf is thrown off the mech, blood splatting all over the trees and ground as it lands on the ground. It quickly gets up as the two mechs continue their assault. John brings up his gun, trying to see if he can get a clear shot, but the mechs turn their back on him before he can get one.

"Son of a bitch!" He mutters under his breath as he gets up, jumping over a log and running to get a better vantage point. As he runs guns from the other side fire at him, "Fuck!" He shouts before ducking behind a log. They must think he's one of soldiers. Now he's stuck behind the tree since he can't shout over the loud battle cries of the beast and mechs. He glances over the log to see if his new spot gives him any advantage but it doesn't.

The mechs close in on the werewolf as it backs up slightly, baring its teeth. Luckily, another werewolf appears, this one covered in white fur. It attacks one of the mechs from the side. When the other mech turns to see what's happening, the first werewolf takes the chance to lunge at it. As John watches the battle, reinforcements start appearing in the forest. If he doesn't move he'll be caught in the crossfire with no way out.

He looks around and spots a thicket not too far away. He glances over at the werewolves and sees they're winning. He takes a deep breath before charging for the thicket. He doesn't get more than a few feet before shots begin firing. He dives for it, some of the branches scratching him as he flies into the thicket. He quickly gets up, and turns to the reinforcements. While they're marching he takes the chance to start shooting, causing them to quickly disperse in different directions.

He manages to take quite a few out before they can all find cover. He proceeds to take cover from all the crossfire while trying to slip in a few shots at the enemy here and there. However, a grenade is suddenly chucked into the thicket.

"Oh, shit-!" He jumps out of the thicket just before the grenade blows up. Shrapnel and splintered wood flies everywhere. Part of a twig stabs into his arm. He runs behind a tree trying to use it as a shield as he drops his gun, grabbing onto the branch in his arm. With a pained breath, he yanks the branch out of his arm, the bloodied wood dropping to the forest floor.

Heavy stomping approaches and as he grabs his gun, a large claw comes swiping at him. He dives forward, and getting up he sees its the dark-grey werewolf from before, a new cut going across his chest, dripping with blood. As he stares at the behemoth standing before him, a strange scent enters his nose, staggering his breath.

The scent is so intoxicating, it feels like it's choking him. He barely reacts in time to avoid getting slashed across the face as the werewolf continues to attack.

"W-wait!" John shouts as he backs up, "Yfen...Yfen, sent me..!" He barely manages to stutter, grabbing his throat as the smell continues to constrict his throat. He stands there, taking deep breaths as the werewolf stares at him. To his relief it turns and runs off towards the reinforcements, where the white werewolf is already rampaging through them.

John presses a back up against a nearby tree as he struggles to catch his breath. The scent slowly goes away, and his breathing returns to normal after a few seconds. As he stands there trying to understand what the hell just happened, a different kind of hunger wells up inside him, one that craves blood.

"No...not now...not again…" He mutters to himself as he continues to take deep breaths, trying to stay focused. After it goes away, he grabs the gun and starts to take off towards the reinforcements, but sees the werewolves are slaughtering them all.

"Looks like my job here is done," He looks around for the mountain side, which is to his right, and starts heading for it.

"Stay," Yfen orders, "We must make sure they are alright,"

John stops and turns around, watching them tear through the people with ease.

"They'll be just fine…" He continues his trek to the mountain side. Luckily no one sees him and he's able to get back to the caern with ease, "Now, are you going to start explaining everything or what?" He asks, staring up at the large tree. Yfen materializes in front of it, staring down at him.

"In order to do that, I must explain everything from the beginning…"
