Change

'Why is Raven making her do this? My body is already in better condition than it has ever been.'

"Take another lap," Raven says calmly as she sits on top of a building, watching Luna run laps around the city.

Luna stops to take a break. 'This is ridiculous.' She's out of breath, and Raven still wants her to keep going. At this rate, she'll die from exhaustion. She'd rather keep training her magic reserves.

"If you ever want to become strong enough to get out of this place, you'll take another lap."

She does as Raven says. Luna can taste iron in her mouth. It feels like she's going to die.

After the lap is over, she collapses onto the ground, unable to move.

"Did I say you could take a break?" Raven yells at her.

"I'm trying not to die," Luna yells back. "You're insane if you think I can keep going."

She understands why Raven is pushing her so hard. Raven believes in her, or rather, she has to believe she didn't make a mistake by turning Luna into a werewolf.

Raven jumps down from the third floor of the building without taking any damage and walks over to her. She stands over Luna, looking disappointed.

"I expect more of you. If you can't push yourself beyond your limit, then you can't be my disciple."

"Fine," Luna says while trying to breathe. "But don't blame me if I die."

"One more lap," Raven says as her cold expression stares into her soul. "Then you can spend the rest of the day in meditation."

Later that day...

Luna finds it hard to concentrate. Her hatred towards Raven's training methods clouds her mind. She'll make Raven pay for making her go through this torment someday. For now, she needs to concentrate.

She tries to clear her thoughts of killing Raven and focus on getting stronger.

The next day, Luna wakes up to find that her body has transformed into a werewolf. Her white fur glistening in the sunlight, her hair being braided by Raven.

"We can't have your long hair obscuring your vision as you fight. This will make it manageable."

"Or we could cut it shorter," she proposes to Raven.

"That's out of the question," Raven slaps the back of Luna's head. "Unlike males, our hair will continue to grow. Besides, having long hair is a sign of elegance and femininity. The males will make fun of you if you decide to come back with me."

"So none of the women cut their hair short?" Luna asks, using her first question of the day.

"Some do after finding a mate. Some males prefer their female mates to have short hair. It's a tradition for our warriors to keep it long." Raven stops and thinks for a bit. "I suppose you never had to abide by traditions."

"I'm guessing it's a rule everyone has to follow."

"That's right!" Raven seems impressed by her ability to get information without asking direct questions. "At least for nobles like myself, and now you."

"I see. Your master's blood made me a noble."

"His blood runs through you now. You'll be expected to return with me eventually. When the time is right. But you have to prove yourself before I take you back with me."

"And I do that by... doing as you say."

"Correct. I'll decide when it's time."

"There will be a punishment if I don't go."

"Not necessarily," Raven clarifies. "My master will understand if you don't want to leave."

Her words bring Luna some relief. She doesn't know if she would ever want to leave. Not if she can break out of this prison and free everyone inside it.

"That is, however..." Raven continues, "If you possess what he's looking for."

"What is he looking for?" Luna felt this would be a good final question for the day.

"I'm not sure," Raven stops braiding her hair for a moment to think. "He's never told anyone."

She doesn't know if Raven's master is someone she'd like to meet. He could be a dick for all she knows. She'll find out more about him before making her decision. That is, if she has a choice in the matter.

"Your master treats you well," Luna uses a statement instead of a question.

Raven stays silent until she's finished with Luna's hair. "You should have more stamina now that your body has completed the transformation process."

That means Raven will expect her to run more laps. Luna could never have run a full lap around the city before consuming Raven's master's blood. Even before the transformation, her body exceeded normal human physical abilities.

Running around the city took her about two hours for each lap. According to Raven's calculations, she told Luna it's about twenty miles per lap. Luna can't wait to see how much she's improved.

Later that day...

After finishing one lap, Luna looks up at Raven and asks how fast it was .

"Only a few minutes faster than your record."

Disappointment settles in. It doesn't help that she has to wear Raven's cloak to cover her new body. She had to cut a hole in her pants to make room for her tail. Dressing in nice clothes won't be easy. She still hasn't gotten used to the feeling of wearing clothes over her fur coat.

"Are you sure that sundial isn't running fast?" Luna teases.

"I'm counting that as two for being an idiot," Raven retorts, clearly not amused by the jest.

It was worth it just to see Raven irritated.

Just like her old body, improving her physical abilities will take some time. However, the recovery process is much shorter now. No matter how much she strains her muscles, they're back to their full strength the next day.

"Hold on a second. There has to be some kind of magic spell that can change your appearance," Luna muses aloud, hoping to catch Raven's interest.

Raven rubs her eyes and sighs. "There is, but I'm not teaching it to you."

Just as Luna is about to ask why, she catches herself, realizing she has used up her questions for the day. A spell like that would make things so much easier. She could actually go into the city without wearing this cumbersome cloak. More importantly, she wouldn't have to ruin every pair of pants she owns.

'How did I get so unlucky to have a bitch for a teacher? Raven's lucky she's pretty, otherwise, I wouldn't be so nice to her.'

Luna crosses her arms waiting for an explanation from her, but Raven seems content knowing it pisses Luna off not getting the answers she wants.

"I need a new teacher."

"The only way that's going to happen is if I kill you and you get reincarnated into another world. I can arrange that for you if you wish."

The more votes this gets, the longer the story will be.
