117 117 Arceus and disappointment

"Stop! I told you all to leave me alone!" An angry voice yells out as Alice and I are suddenly stopped right before we enter the portal into the Pokémon world. Our surroundings suddenly shine a faint golden light when I notice Alice can't move, as though she's frozen in time.

I look to my side and see an enormous equine, white and gold monster with shining red eyes glaring at us angrily.

"Arceus?" I say, recognizing the God of Pokémon.

Arceus stares at me intently for a few seconds before his eyes stop glowing. "I know you. You're the upstart God created by my master. Why have you come?"

I think for a few seconds before I answer, "To see Pokémon, catch a few of them and learn about them," I say as Arceus stares at me even more intently. Meanwhile, I can feel something burning in my pocket dimension.

I steer my focus to it for just a second and notice the medallion Rob had provided me once upon a time, is now shining a bright golden light. I remember what he said to me back then: "So long as you carry this, you shall have my full authority. You are my proxy."

I take out the medallion and hold it out towards Arceus as it shines even brighter. The medallion lifts from my hand and floats towards Arceus, shining brighter the closer it gets. when it comes right before his face, the medallion bursts into pieces and enters Arceus' head.

Arceus closes his eyes for a second, before he opens them again, almost smiling now. "I understand, master." He says before he focuses on me again. "I've been asked to provide you what you seek, but I'm afraid I will not allow you entry into my world."

"What? Why not?" I ask as this has never happened before.

"Look around you, what do you notice?" He asks.

I do as he says and quickly see what he means. "Your world is secluded in a corner of the Omniverse, away from all others."

"Exactly. And there's a reason for that. I did not create a multiverse, but one single universe with multiple smaller dimensions attached to it. It is unique in that regard, and it allows me more control than the others choose to exert over their creations." Arceus explains.

"I ask that you respect my wishes." He continues. "This is my own slice of creation and it is exactly how I like it. Even my master has never entered, although, naturally, he is aware of what goes on inside."

"I can't say I'm not disappointed. My wife really wanted to see your world and I myself grew up watching it. Even now, after millions of years of life it holds a special place in my heart." I explain, feeling quite disappointed.

But hearing this puts a smile on Arceus' face, as far as that's possible... I think.

"Very well then. I shall grant you a DNA sample of every single Pokémon in my world, past, present and future. As well as material samples of non-biological Pokémon. And as per my master's request, I'll grant you your very own plate."

Suddenly, the nineteen plates, representing every Pokémon type, leave Arceus' body and circle him. Beams of energy suddenly release from every plate as they converge right in front of Arceus. After a few seconds, the energy builds up until a bright, blinding light suddenly shines from the point of convergence.

As the light dims, another plate is revealed, shining in all colors, as I can feel it filled to the brim with power.

"This plate will give you a copy of my power. Devour it, and it'll grant you the energies of every typing, allowing you to use every Pokémon move there is."

I reach for the plate and cover it in my aura before it's absorbed into it. After devouring the plate, I immediately feel my body start producing the energies.

Suddenly a pristinely white egg appears in front of Arceus before it floats to me. "This contains the DNA and material samples." Arceus explains.

I devour it, same as the plate, and feel knowledge flooding my mind. So much of it, it's insane. It takes minutes before I regain my focus this time.

I've gained knowledge of every Pokémon species, including every move they're capable of and how to perform it. Even the moves that are specific to a species like Dialga's Roar of Time and Palkia's Spacial Rend. I can even grant wishes like Jirachi.

"Although this didn't go as I'd hoped, I'm grateful Arceus." I say before Arceus nods in response.

"Allow me to do one last thing before you go." Arceus says as the golden glow around us dissipates and Alice can move again.

Noticing the portal we were supposed to enter has disappeared, she turns to me and is immediately shocked seeing Arceus behind me.

Latching on to my arm and holding tight, she whispers, "honey, what's going on?"

"This is Arceus, the creator of the world we were about to enter. He has politely requested we forego our plans and leave his creation be." I say before I turn to face Arceus. "Arceus, this is my wife, Alice."

Quickly gathering herself, she lets go of me and presents herself properly. "It's an honor to meet you, Lord Arceus. My husband has told me much of your world and its marvelous creatures. I was truly looking forward to seeing them for myself."

"The honor is mine, Lady Alice." Arceus responds politely, "and I apologize to have robbed you of the experience. However, I have granted your husband the ability to create Pokémon of his own.

And I have a gift for you as well." Arceus says before an egg suddenly appears before Alice. "Though you won't enter my world, I'm giving you a piece of it. A Pokémon of your own. All I ask is that you take good care of it."

"I-I will, I promise." Alice responds as she's focused on the egg in her hands.

Lady Alice, Lord Fenrir." Arceus says, giving us both a polite nod before a golden portal opens behind him and he retreats back into his own dimension.

"Soo... now what?" Alice asks as she has bot her arms wrapped around her egg.

"Honestly, I don't know. I was expecting to spend a few decades in this world, but that ain't happening." I say feeling a little dejected.

"Fenris, how about you drop me and the kids off at home and you go prepare for that crazy dangerous multiverse you wanted to settle down in."

"The kids are already in my dimension. But sure, I guess that's as good an idea as any."

"No, honey. I mean home, where this all began. With Renesmee and Lucas, my siblings, Esme and Carlisle."

"Are you sure? We were supposed to travel together."

"Are you worried I'm disappointed? Because I'm not." Alice says, as she looks at me with a loving smile. "You're the one who wanted to show me all these great and amazing worlds, but all I ever wanted was to be by your side and raise children together. You've given me both. And I'm sure there's much more to come."

I smile in response, lean down and kiss her while I teleport us both inside my realm.

We pick up the kids and I open a portal back to Twilight.
