12 Will You Marry Me?

"I've been looking for you for so long!" Gao Longwei rushed up to Feng Jiao like a gigantic golden retriever. Once he reached her, he held on to her hands and stared into her eyes with passion that Feng Jiao didn't know could exist.

Feng Jiao was a little stunned.

Secretary Lan, who was standing behind his boss, was also stunned.

He didn't know that the famed lone ice wolf of the arms industry could become a golden retriever in front of his mate. Somehow this was disappointing to secretary Lan, but it was good entertainment.

Now that his boss, who had an IQ high enough to be the boss of mensa, was acting like a fool, he somehow felt so much more down to earth. It was easier on the eyes. The visuals hadn't changed, his boss was still handsome, but he was softer to look at.

The lone ice wolf of the arms industry was currently staring at Feng Jiao with mushy eyes that could make a healthy man diabetic. He was waiting for her to say something, as if hanging on her every word.

"Uh- Okay?" Feng Jiao was, to put it simply, speechless.

It wasn't every day that some sort of CEO came out of nowhere to grab your hands and pretend like you're the goddess of his heart. It wasn't every day that Feng Jiao went to school either, so today sure was an unusual day.

It had to be said that Gao Longwei had great luck.

If Feng Jiao hadn't done the 'don't deny this child an education' act, there was no way that she would have left the agency. She would've slept in and then eaten, and then slept again, until her next mission.

She definitely would've gone out to party in the afternoon, but the back entrance would be open then, so Gao Longwei wouldn't have seen her then as well.

It was simply fate working its magic. Feng Jiao had left the building at the right time, from the right gate and had run into Gao Longwei without any issues.

Heck, she had noticed Gao Longwei, and hadn't sprinted in the other direction as if being hunted down. That was an achievement of its own for Gao Longwei. The fact that he managed to catch on to her was another miracle.

"Will you marry me?" Gao Longwei spit out in one single breath.

The genius CEO had thought about it all night and had come to one conclusion. Since she was his mate, there was only one outcome for this. Why not proceed with it a little faster?

On top of that, since they were mates, she definitely felt the same way that he did. It was impossible for her not to. All werewolves felt that way towards their mates.

What Gao Longwei wasn't thinking of, was the off chance possibility that Feng Jiao was a human.

There had been multiple cases of humans being mated to werewolves, since the moon goddess didn't exactly stick to any of the rules. However, since being a human was so rare, those chances were extremely slim. No one ever considered them.

In the whole city, there could be at most ten or fifteen humans.

Humans had only one advantage over werewolves, who were stronger, faster and bigger. Humans weren't regulated to the hierarchy that werewolves followed.

While an alpha could basically mind control betas and omegas into doing their bidding, humans didn't have the receptors that were needed to feel the hormones that the alphas used for this. This was Feng Jiao's greatest advantage in werewolf hunting.

All the other werewolf hunters were alphas so they were resistant too, unless their opponent was a dominant alpha. In those cases, Feng Jiao would be sent almost one hundred percent of the time.

If the agency had to take Gao Longwei out, the only candidate would be Feng Jiao.

Feng Jiao was not impressed by this sudden confession.

She was the kind who dreamed of ideal romances in everyday life. A partner she knew for many years, a small house on the outskirts of the city, and a romantic couple.

She liked hand holding and blushing and dates to the amusement park. Sharing a cone of ice cream, going to the mall together and shopping, a first kiss under the moonlight. She even wanted to experience a luxurious candlelit dinner with the one she loved.

Not that she'd experienced any of that just yet.

But it would happen sooner or later.

Feng Jiao had confidence in her seductive charms and beautiful looks, and even her cute demeanor. Much of these were her own delusions of course.

Feng Jiao had what was the polar opposite of a cute demeanor.

She had a resting bitch face and was very imposing. Perhaps her occupation gave her the confidence and god complex, after all, even the most dominant in the world fell at her feet begging to be spared.

That was enough to give anyone enough pride to fuel a pride factory.

So to put it in short, Feng Jiao was not only a dreamer of cute romantic situations straight out of a romance novel, in the traditional way... she was also someone who was unapproachable.

That combination really hadn't worked out for her, but she'd manage. It wasn't that hard to find someone who would like her for her, and was also a romantic.

One such person was standing right in front of her after all.

Sure, Gao Longwei wasn't exactly the romantic kind, but he would definitely try his best to be that kind for Feng Jiao. He was head over heels for her, nothing was a problem here.

But the real problem was the fact that Feng Jiao wanted to marry a human.

That was like every single requirement added together and multiplied by a thousand times difficult. But Feng Jiao wasn't done looking. Her first step would be to get rid of the man in front of her.

"Could you please let go of my hands?"
