6 Chapter 4 (Raid)

At this time the sun is about to rise, even so, the enemies can't see them. Not just because it is still dark and the forest is very dense, but due to their special camouflage clothes that are resembling with black soil. They weren't wearing it before, because it was still very dark at that time and the chance of getting accidentally discovered was very low. Besides all of the horses were either black or dark brown, so they were completely concealed from the eyes of the enemy.

On the outer edge of their Environ, the Archers were ready to shoot anytime. They had already injected their mana into the tip of their Arrows, their mana is completely depleted due to this. The Marksman consists of two groups, each operated by different leaders. The task of the first group is very crucial and it starts in the very first of War. They have to shoot the arrow filled with their mana into the 'Environ Net', according to the coordinates of the power supply provided by the Spies.

The task of the second group is to assist the cavalry and shoot the rain of arrows in the enemy's base. They are forty in numbers with one commander and twenty Marksman in each group. All the Marksman in the troops are Elites and can shoot from even one kilometer far if needed. Though they have to use their magic to be able to slay their target.

Captain Amzi signaled the commencement of war through a flare of light. After receiving the signal, the Spy who was hiding near the base with a 'Mortar Launcher' released his hand from the Crystal. He immediately falls on the ground with exhaustion, though he was as strong as Hugo and was using a Mana Container to fuel the Launcher. As soon as he pulled his hand out of the Crystal, the Launcher shoots an 'Environ Net' with a momentum close to an arrow released from a bow.

"swoosh" *Sound produced by Net*

The enemy's patrolling on the top of the fortress Wall catch the sight of the captain's signal, even though the flare was only lit up for half second to not get caught. They become quickly alert and blew the horn to signal the attack of enemy troops. But the next move of the enemy made them completely baffled, as they had never seen such a thing in their lifetime. The Environ Net is actually a new Invention of the Astrologer of 'Daemon Land'. They lie in the upper echelon of the Kingdom just like Magus.

The Net was shooted towards the 'Invisible Defensive Wall', it expanded as its momentum slowed down. In a split second the net completely covered the Fortress of the enemy, enveloping them from every corner. The 'Defensive Wall' played a very loud breach Alert, but it was too late. In the next instant, the rain of arrows falls on top of the Net, aiming at the specific power supply line that has been marked as a target.

"swoosh... swoosh... swoosh~" *Sound produced by the rain of arrows*

The arrowhead is contained with the mana of shooters, it is done for deactivating the 'Defence Wall'. The five Power supply line were targeted among the twelve of them because they were marked as the weakest of them. The tip of the arrowhead will transfer its stored mana in the 'Environ Net', which will then use the energy to deactivate the 'Core' of the 'Defensive Wall'.

That is a type of Crystal that requires a very large amount of Mana to operate. It generally has a very large storage space and can be used for many days before refilling Mana with a Container. The container is typically a type of Spiritual Stone that can accumulate Mana from its environment, it can be used for various purposes.

"clank... clank... clank... creak~" *sound from the impact of Arrows*

The entire wall vanished and the Environ Net collapsed on the ground, but it has one more function and that is to trap the enemies for the time being, when the troops had only started their attack. Captain Amzi shouted "Attack...", the raid on the enemy's outpost is officially begun. The cavalry soldiers charged towards the enemy's Fortes from all directions. The troop is looking more like a swarm of bees rather than a tactical Cavalry troops.

To aid the cavalry soldiers the second group of Marksman started to rain the arrows inside the Outpost of werewolves. They were shooting from five hundred meters afar, even then the arrow are able to carry such destructive velocity that can create a large crater Wherever it falls. They are not shooting for penetrating their Target, because they can't see their enemy due to the fortes wall. So the only option left is to bombard the enemies from every direction, even if the arrow couldn't hit its target it can injure them to some extent.

Unexpected to the Cavalry troops, the enemy's also counter-attacked them without caring about their own lives. Captain Amzi was also curious to know, how could they initiate their counter-attack so quickly like they were already prepared for the War. A huge swarm of arrows comes towards them, it was not carrying any mana energy but it was still very Lethal because of its Greater size and Velocities. Captain Amzi realize that he was too much overconfident about this war and because of his mistake, they all fall into the enemies' Trap. But it was too late to back down, so he continues to charge towards the Fortes.

"Charge~"

"Haaa...!"

It wasn't like they are completely helpless in this situation, they can dodge the incoming arrows because of their agile horses. But their defense is not so good as their offense and as soon as they come near the enemy's fortes, the arrows are becoming more and more dense. It is now impossible to dodge and if they come in the path of an arrow, they can't help themselves because of their low level of mana that couldn't even defend them from an oversized arrow. Amzi was still confused while he was leading the cavalry from ahead, he realized that their attack are completely useless in front of their enemy's Marksmanship.

As he reached closer he turned his head backward and found that his troops are being assaulted with the arrows of the enemy. Though he is safe due to his advance magic power, but most of the cavalry troops are not so lucky and were getting penetrated by the arrows from head to toe. He signaled a flare to get help from the prince, the prince had already noticed it and ordered a senior Magus beside him to help the troops. The senior Magus instructed fifteen magi's to make a Defense for the troops, he didn't order all of them even though only fifteen magi's can't defend a whole troop, because the magi's are actually reserved to protect prince and not the troops.
