5 Chapter 3 (Investigation)

A spy climbs up to a tall tree that he discovered during his Investigation. He is so fast that it seems like he is sprinting on the land. It has very thick branches and leaves compared to other trees and is also very close to the enemy's stronghold. Thus making it very useful in spying. He is not visible to a naked eye, only a Magus could see him through his perception of magic. It is only if the magus is able to sense his presence in the first place, otherwise, he can't discover him. The Shadow magic is making him transparent in the night sky, besides he is wearing a black Robe just like his leader, so he is concealed anyway.

The werewolf guards weren't looking like a complete wolf, but they rather look like a human with the face, tails, and limbs of a wolf. They are not some savage beast that will attack you violently but are only a different kind of species that can turn into wolves. He counted fifty guards patrolling on the wall and twenty patrolling inside the base, just like the usual days. There are also four guards, they were patrolling outside the wall to look for the possible infiltration of any Spy.

He observed twelve building inside the base, they are all made of wood and stone. In his investigation, he found out that there are forty werewolves in each building. On his estimation, there are nearly five hundred fifty werewolves residing in the Fortes, along with some temporary visitors that arrive there occasionally. The visitors are generally some messengers who arrive there occasionally from the main City. Some of them are reinforcement, that has been sent to give the base more sturdiness.

Though he, nor his subordinates and leader saw the exact whereabouts of the leader of the werewolves', they are confident that he must be residing in one of the inner buildings. Even after so many days of investigation, he wasn't able to find or even guess where the Leader lives? But this isn't a thing he should care about, as his Leader may have already relayed this information to the Captain.

"Haa! Whatever. You all are going to sleep forever, together with your damn leader!" He said before getting down the Tree. He didn't come down the way he climbs up the tree, he directly jumped down the tree. He then uses his magic to modify his clothes like a wingsuit, then he glided towards a particular point that they had marked for landing. A group of shadow followed him in the sky, they were four in numbers.

They weren't any enemy, but his companion. He finds it very impressive, that by the time his other comrade had also done their task. Except for one who is not there, they will not meet him now until his task is over. The task of the other five was like this, first and the second man was on watch to beware their comrades from getting discovered by the patrollers. The task of the third and fourth comrade was to find out the exact power channel and core of Defensive Wall, then write down its coordinates. The task of the sixth man is most crucial, he is hiding near the Outpost to wait for the signal of Captain for the Attack.

...

They returned together after completing their necessary task and investigation. They appeared before their leader Hugo, to report him the full detail of their enemy's movement and the necessary defense preparation. After that Hugo dismissed them and told them to stay at the back. He moved towards the Captain, Amzi saw him coming and turned towards him. He is still embarrassed about getting scolded by a Magus in front of everyone. Hugo relayed the complete information that his subordinates have brought about the enemy's Fortes and the preparation they had done.

After listening to his detailed explanation, Amzi ordered his subordinates to come forward for planning the execution of the war. His subordinates are the Commander of each Unit and they are very efficient in controlling their force. There are four Commanders, twenty leaders, and four hundred Cavalrymen in this troop. The other two hundred troops are not in his direct command, the magi's are also not there to help him either. They are reserved troops who are in command of Prince.

He once again discussed about his plan and reorganize the troops' position according to the situation. He changed the formation of troops, as now it seems like this is a very easy operation. No one raised any objection, as they were also very confident about their Conquest. Amzi is very confident about his infallible plan, but there is still one thing he is ignorant of or he is not informed. The thing is that Hugo is still not able to locate the whereabouts of the leader of the werewolves, he is very afraid to reveal this crucial detail.

"Archers! On my command!" A man shouted at the top of his lungs. He is the Commander of his unit, the unit is on the back front of cavalry. The Archers are placed in the four directions to encircle the Fortes of the enemy from all Directions. The formation is very effective in attacking the enemies, supporting the Cavalry troops, and blocking the escape route of the enemy. They were eagerly waiting for the Defensive wall to deactivate.

...

Near the enemy's outpost, a black Robe man is doing something behind a tree. He is doing some weird movements with his hand and Chanting continuously from the time he reached here. He is the man who will commence the war, even though he is not the Leader of any troop. A huge device appears in front of him, they had hidden it for many days. The device is cylindrical in shape like a mortar, but this one has a little modification. The shape of its Barrel is large in front and small at the end.

The work of the mortar is not to destroy the wall, it can't do that as the wall is very strong. It is used to throw an 'Environ Net' on the 'Defensive Wall'. The Net is the Most Important component of the Mortar, it can be thrown by injecting a huge amount of mana in the Launcher. He set-up the position and angle of the Launcher and injected all his Mana inside a Blue Crystal that was attached to it. Then what is he waiting for? It is a signal of Captain that he is waiting for~
