Chapter seventeen: I'm her mate ?

"Let's go, get that dear,one won't be enough so you go that way (I pointed to the left of me) and I'll go that way (I pointed to the right)" once i saw him nod ,i took off running

I ran for a short amount of time but covered a large distance ,I only stopped because in front of me was a lake or dam of some sort, i saw a nice size rock ,so walked to it and sat down, I put my elbows on my knees and my head in my hands

"What I'm I going to do, maybe my elder chose the wrong person to be elder, sure back then Neil didn't have his head screwed on straight but now, well now he would make a pretty damn good elder ,I don't even know where to begin on the plan " I said to no one in particular,

"You see ,your answer lies in the sentence you just made "a voice said ,I looked around to see an elderly Male and female chilling beside the water

"What do you mean ?" I asked rather curious

"Well you just said that your brother when he was younger ,he didn't have his head screwed on straight but now he does and I'm guessing his older then you are ? "The lady asked me

"Well yeah he is ,why ?"I asked her back

"So there's your answer dear, your young so you'll screw up to but by doing so ,you'll also learn more about what your dealing with and better ways to handle it, yes your brother may have ways that are better but that's because his older ,his observed more ,let's say this mission of yours ,you where indeed gonna jump in head first without looking at the consequences but after your chat with your brother,you know realise the importance of a plan ,so you know how you'll land after you jump "this time the man spoke

"H-how did you know about that ? " I asked them while now standing up

"We would love to say that you came to the fountain of wisdom but you didn't dear ,we're vampires to and could read you rather easily due to the amount of emotions you hold for the situation ,we are just giving you helpful advice, so you know that your elder chose you for a good reason dear,now you should catch that dear and head back to your camp ,though you can walk in day light ,your journey is still far and rest you'll need plenty of ,take care younger elder " the elderly woman spoke

"Okay well thank you " I said as I looked around for a dear

"It was a pleasure dear " they said in unison

I ran off again, this time I spotted a dear so I took it down , threw it over my shoulder, I took out my mirror and looked at it

"Show me Hanna...please?" I said unsure of how this thing really works ,soon enough I saw Hanna Andrew, Neil ,Claire and Roger

"What do you mean ,you guys got into an argument and you let her run off " Hanna said sounding really pissed off

"Well I talk her to think about a plan and it might have come across as if I was threatening her elder position, in which she didn't really seem to like ,so she snapped at me and told me to go catch a dear and she'll do the same, she told me to go left ,she went right and I ended up back here first ,I don't know where she is or where she ran off to " Neil sounded guilty, maybe he thinks I ran away because of that argument

"I don't care what you did Neil ,all I know is my mate is out there somewhere and its your fault, you better hope she returns before morning " Hanna said as she walked off

"What I'm her mate ? Oh damn that explains why she's so nice to me ,why that night at Normas she was cuddling me and why at the stream she wanted to do more then just kiss ,when she told me that day in the snow how she was saving all that for her mate ,damn well I better get back if not for my sake but for Neil's sake to" I thought to myself

I ran back to the camp as quick as I could, which wasn't actually that long ,when I got back everyone was still awake

"Hi guys sorry I'm late ,I got a bit sidetracked but i brought the dear ,Neil did you manage to catch one ?" I said as I dropped it close to the fire

"Jen !!,gosh I was so worried about you " Hanna ran up to me and grabbed me in a tight hug ,so I picked her up and gave her a kiss

"Wow what was that for?"Hanna asked me with a blush

"Well that's just because I missed you hey (I put her back down ) and Neil's right guys we really should be thinking about a plan" I said calmly

"So let's talk about it " Neil said back to me

"Well Neil clearly knows more ,I think he should be the one to make the plan ,so let's hear it " I said back to him

"Oh well umm,umm, okay, okay I get it ,its hard to come up with a plan of a place you haven't seen yet ,I don't know how many guards or watchers there are, so we'll have to see when we get there " Neil looked down feeling embarrassed

"Don't be embarrassed bro ,we could sit and talk about how tall that tree is until we're blue in the face but without having an exact height ,we won't get far ,in other words, its always good to have a plan but first you need to know what you're up against in order to plan everything accurately " I said to him as I walked up to him and rubbed his back

" I was grilling you about jumping before you looked and here I am with a blindfold on " Neil spoke with a chuckle at the end

" see we're both in the wrong ,now that's over can we eat or have you all eaten already " I asked everyone

"Nope, Hanna was pretty arrogant that we should wait for you,hey Neil come drain yours, I'm hungry man "Andrew said as he walked up to the dear

"Alright, alright I'm coming "Neil said with a laugh at the end

"We should probably eat to ,we have a long journey ahead of us and will probably need all the rest we can get " I said as I went to our dear

"Wow when did you get all wise " Hanna said with a chuckle

"Well not even an hour ago "I said while I smirked at her

"Maybe you should venture off more often " Hanna said jokingly

"Maybe I should but as for now let's eat " I told her as I drained the dear

"Wich part do you want? " I asked her as I held up the dear

"Mmm I'll have a leg ,which part do you want claire?" Hanna asked the smaller woman

"The front legs ,thank you " she said as she stood up and walked over to us

I ripped the rear legs off and gave them to Hanna , then I gave the front legs to Claire, they where somewhat grilling there meat before they ate

"So the first one to wake up has to wake everyone else up so we can start the day early " Andrew said as he ate his meat

"Well that's obviously going to be be the vampires " Roger Answered Andrew

"No not really, I mean jen I don't know if you've felt it but this whole walking during sun light is kinda making me tired at night,its strange I don't know to function anymore " Neil said as he layed his sleeping bag down

"I think its because even we rest , during the day we normally rest but now we can't ,so I think its only natural that we at some point feel tired ,we all run like hell during the day " I said also trying to figure it out

"Okay well then ,first one up wakes the rest up " Andrew said back to me as he walked to wash his hands

"Alrighty then ,Hanna you wanna lay by me or ? "I asked Hanna ,as I asked she smiled

"I was thinking, if you and Hanna use one sleeping bag, Andrew and I use one ,then there would be enough for Roger and Claire to share one to " Neil said ask he looked up at the stars now laying down

"So that's settled, good night " I said weirdly unable to keep my eyes open
