3 Three

The fact that there was a reply to her poster shocked Christa. She didn't expect anyone to answer, let alone on the first day! She hastily replied:

I'd love to meet up with you somewhere and check the place out!

She turned off her phone, smiling.

"What happened?" Asked her mother, "Did Jaiden say when he was going to bring in the cash?"

"Oh," began Christa, she had already forgotten all about Jaiden, "I was actually responding to something else. Someone saw my flyer down by the coffee shop and texted me about it."

Her mother suddenly gasped.

"What is it?"

Her mother wiped away a fake tear and sniffed, "You actually listened to my-my advice and you pu-put up the p-p-poster?"

Christa sighed and rolled her eyes, "Yea, Mom, I put up the poster." Her mother swooped in for a hug, but Christa dodged, "Hey stop that!"

"But it's a special occasion." Her mother pouted.

"Nope!" Christa quickly ran over to her room and shut the door before hearing a notification from her phone. It read:

I'd love to meet up! How about we meet down by town square near the fountain on Saturday? Any time after 2:00 works for me.

"Don't stay up too late!" Came her mother's voice from the hallway.

"I won't!" Exclaimed Christa before replying:

I can be there at around 2:30-3:00!

The response:

Sounds good! Also, what's your name?

Christa's reply:

My name's Christa, and you?

The response:

You can call me Bella! I have to go, see you Saturday!

Christa's reply:

Okay bye!

Christa added Bella to her contacts. She had to wait one more day before she could meet up with Bella. She grabbed a pen and marked the occasion on her calendar before getting ready and going to sleep.

The next day when she arrived at work the manager immediately said, "Today I'm going to be out, so it's just going to be you and Shay. Does that sound good to you?"

"Yes, that sounds fine. See you later!"

"Okay bye Christa." His phone began to ring and he answered, "Yes I'm on my way. Don't worry about it," he waved goodbye before exiting, "I'll be there in-" the door shut behind him.

"Hey." Came a voice from behind her.

"Oh hi Shay!" Said Christa in surprise

"Today's gonna be a half day so we're going to close up at around 1:00 pm." She walked past Christa, brushing against her arm, before going behind the counter to set up the cash register. The day was going pretty well up until a few hours later when Christa was managing the register.

"Hey Shay!" Exclaimed Christa, "I think something is wrong with the register!"

"Kay be right there!" Shay finished up the drink she was working on and headed over to where Christa was standing. Before Christa could move away, Shay pressed her front against Christa's back. She reached over Christa's arm in a way that prevented her from moving. Christa tried to push away in a way that wouldn't be obvious to the customer in front of her, but Shay pushed back even more. Christa could feel her face burning up and was worried Shay would never leave, when she finally pressed a few buttons and said, "There, just a rookie mistake. Happens to the best of us." Shay backed up and Christa looked at her in shock. Shay smirked and patted her head before returning to her work. Christa, still shaken, did the same. The next few hours of work, Christa could barely look at Shay, but when she did, Shay would meet her gaze and smile. After work, Christa was in the employee room when Shay walked in and locked the door behind her.
